Great choice Pauly.... these are Great pickups, that really enhance a naturally great guitar; that has that rare mixture of great natural resonance, and sustain from the factory!
damn, bought them last week, Im so happy with the sound, put 1600n covers on them, now they looks great. Waiting for CTS TVT Pots and Black beauty caps to make my les paul sound as near as possible for 59 years :D
Classic Rock galore! Plus a bit of Larry Carlton or Lee Ritenour. Once I get a Les Paul or a copy, will definitely consider this. Ganda tunog niya. Malinaw na mabigat.
Fuckin' raaaaad dude!😎😁 That pickup would probably awesome for Van Halen kinda stuff I think...I can't choose between PAF style pups but I saved your video, the 59 sounds great!🤘 Nice playing too!😎
Perfecto De Castro Thank you for the kind words. You have an impressive amount of videos. Much respect for following your dream and making a career out of guitar. I never had the courage to try. Passion is inspiring. Much success to you my friend. 👍👍
Sir Perf, baka nman pwd kayong gumawa ng reviews for those cheaper guitar effects(Analogs) na sakto lng sa budget pero maganda ang mga tunog. Planning to setup pedalboard with cheaper guitar effects. Thanks.
Both are excellent choices! PAF 59s are more open sounding being unpotted but can be microphonic at high gain loud volumes so it boils down to how loud you’ll be playing. Another option is the PAF 36th Anniversary.
sounds great, do you think that pickup on the bridge may sound good on a new Charvel DK24? I do not like the S Duncan Full Shred Humbuckers that came with
Might be too low output for a superstrat, unless you're really after that sound, plus it's regular spacing, you'll need F-spaced for your Charvel. For something similar and might fit your guitar better I recommend the DiMarzio 36th Anniversary PAF
Quick question Sir, is it advisable to put PAF 59s on an epiphone les paul Standard. I just want to get that 50s Gibson Les Paul without busting a bank on a New Gibson Les Paul Guitar. Thnks for your demo. Ive finally know which one to pick.
Man I love that airy, acoustic sound of those. The ONLY thing putting me off is theyre unpotted... Have you had any issues with them being microphonic?
I've gigged with them, they don't really squeal as much but I'm like a human noise gate... every time there's a longer break in the song I switch to clean. I also dial down the gain. If you use these thru modellers (Line 6, Kemper, Headrush) then there's no issues.
Great sound! When you say these pickups have only two conductors, just pop up on my mind the question if it is possible to install them on Gilbson LP Standard 2012 due the Bypass of the volume pots?
Dang these sound stellar! Awesome playing I love that classic sounding track in the beginning! How versatile do you think these are? I saw that you played a little bit of a jazz vibe at one point and I know that these seem to handle heavier sounds well but Do you think they are versatile enough to regularly perform jazz and funk well?
For my playing, I find that I don't need as much gain for these pickups. I've used them at gigs and didn't really have any trouble with squealing feedback. I guess if you were playing a high gain amp or stacking drive pedal these were squeal all night but then again, these aren't the right pickups for that application :)
@@OfficialPerfectoDeCastro Thanks for the answer! I don't use much distortion, but I had an old pickup that squealed like heeell...after wax potted it was great.😄
A question for ya: Do you find there is a large difference in output between neck and bridge? In my LP, the neck is so much louder. I even have it set deep down in the cavity. It’s very noticeable when playing through a clean amp.
Thee volume difference between neck and bridge PU’ are noticable won stock Gibson pickups...the 61 Zebra Bridge on my LP Classic arent loud compare to the neck...i ended up replacing stock PU’s with Duncan 59’s
Sir Perf, Good Playing and Good Day.Just want your Professional Suggestion,Do you Thing This DiMarzio PAF 59 will be Good for Semi Hollow Body Guitar? Thanks in Advance.
Hi there Perfecto! What would you think of a Super Distortion + Dimarzio 59' in the neck of a Flying V? I have a Transition in the neck and I feel it's too dark, boomy, compressed, and sterile for the guitar.
latinrockfusionfreak that sounds like a good combo, 59 PAF will clear that neck up. Yeah, I find Transitions dark as well, and more suited to signal processing
@@OfficialPerfectoDeCastro Thanks for replying! Will they be clear and balanced enough for some all-strings strumming. I'm dissapointed with the Transition in my guitar. Maybe will keep them for a future guitar proyect, but not the Flying V. The EQ and sound ain't right for it. Thank you! Really looking forward to finding the "right" pickup!
@@avbsvideo Hi there! Sad to read about your negative experience with the Super Distortion. That pickup fitted and sounds perfectly on my Gibson Flying V. The one that I dislike is the Transition neck. I want to get it out ASAP. Too dark, bass heavy, compressed, and unbalanced with the SD. Know a neck pickup that could work perfectly with the Super Distortion? Dimarzio 59', the PAF Pro, the PAF Master, the PAF, and the PAF 36th Anniversary are the ones that could replace it in my guitar.
The PAF 59s are only 2 conductor so no coil splits. Try the DiMarzio PAF 36th Anniversary, I have them on my 2016 Les Paul Classic and the coil split sounds are great
I have Seth lovers in my Gibson now and the output is about 8.0 and they have honk to them that the SD Antiquities didnt have so one more question if you please Perfecto do these have any honking sound from them?
Richard Gregory i think i know what you mean by SD “honk”. The PAF59 is very open sounding and it doesn’t sound like there are ay hyped up frequencies, which allows you to shape the tone using your amp’s EQ

Hey , your guitar hums. I can live with a scratch's and dings. I just want the tone. You have some chops kid. I'm older than you. Not as talented. I've been looking at some mojotone 59 hot and low wind pickups. Not the best examples for them. Price is good $209.00 for the set. If you know let me know. Thanks, Me. I’m so sold on the tone of the pickups, but your chops out that Guitar brother.....oh Brother!!!!!
Gustavo Renovalez thanks for watching!
This is why I'm dimarzio forever. I need this set.
That sound is out of this world.
Not only do the pickups sound good, you do as well, it's in the fingers, tasteful playing dude.

Great video. The pickups are sensational!
They're still one of my favorites
Those sound incredible!
PAF in the neck and a Super Distortion in the bridge on a Gibson Les Paul is the combo!
Great demo. Very detailed on cleans and dirty! Thumbs up!
Yea! Sick kills man! Nice tone!
Nice playing. Awsome sound on that git fiddle! Am buying some of those pups. Thanks for the fine demo.

Glad you enjoyed it!
loving those high gain tones! really want to try these out and test them against the Dimarzio PAF 36' Anniversary
The 36th Anniversaries are rounder and slightly more modern sounding, the PAF 59 has teeth!
Cool thanks. I haven't tried either but am dying to try both sets. Maybe some day!
sounds awesome dude!
You just sold me on this pickup set 👍
Sir Perf im excited to see this guitar on your Gig...

I’m not sure if I want these or the 36th anniversary for my 82 custom.
Consider that these are unpotted so if you play hi gain at stage volume the 36th might be a better option
This would look really nice with a classic Gold top finish, sir Perf :D
Remind me, aungus young in the bridge neck

No, typical Les Paul wiring
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great sound! When you say these pickups have only two conductors, just pop up on my mind the question if it is possible to install them on Gilbson LP Standard 2012 due the Bypass of the volume pots?
Two conductors means you can't wire these pickups for coil splits|push/pull pots for single coil sounds. They sound best in Les Pauls, IMO
Perfecto De Castro thank you for answering! GibsonLP 2012 has push and pull pots so would not work!! :(

Jazz and Funk definitely. To quote Pete Thorn, a good PAF pickup sounds like a Tele on steroids 🙂
@@OfficialPerfectoDeCastro Great! Thank you!

Haven't played the SD 59. Compared to the Dimarzio PAF 36th, these are more open sounding
Good job!
Would they work to get an old school GnR Slash tone? (e.g. Get in the Ring)
For Slash I think you need a slightly beefier pickup
