It has a weird "string" because it has what they call easy start or soft start and you aren't supposed to drop start it. 25:1 is normal for saws made before your time which is what this saw is modeled after. Also, it's not a 3/8 chain, its a .325x .058. 76 links. The Zenoah clones are really good saws for the money.
Yeah, seems like a standard cheap Chinese Zenoah clone. They are pretty good, they have horrible AV mounts, it also looks like it had the “easy start” where you pull the cord out slowly and it has a spring that starts it. I’d keep it tuned a little rich and the 25:1 is so they last longer😂 the extra oil just helps the cheaper aluminum in the piston/cylinder. The chain usually throws decent chips due to a different grind angle on it, if I had a pic of it I could explain it better. You like pico chain, and I’m here loving .404 harvester chain that’s massive😂 Overall those zenoah clones are great for beginners and people who don’t need a pro saw, great video though Jenna as always
awww this all makes so much sense now! Thank you for explaining that.I thought so with the mix ratio. I agree decent saw for someone who is just starting but I still would recommend a stihl or husky cuz once you pick up a saw you can't go back so just get a good one in the first place. lol
@@oakiewoodsman ha, funny seeing you here, I’m good just got my 390 parts in just in time for a nasty storm, and yeah those easy start recoils are WEIRD
I've had the same saw for over a year and a half still glad I got it.I use it more often than my huskies.I figure if I'm gonna wear one out why not the cheap one.
I have a different colored version of this chinese saw, it's 4-5 years old and hasnt broke yet, some have better plastics than others. The trick to starting them is to hold it still and pull it slow and easy, the built in easy pull spring does the rest. They take the same bar/chain as a 50cc Husqvarna or you can grind the adjuster hole a touch on a small stihl bar and it fits. I had bad luck with the bars that come on these and use an oregon bar for a husky on mine.
Yeah the 25:1 is very old school. Back in the day the 2 stroke oils were not as refined and all engines needed the extra oil for sufficient lubrication. Looks like they copied the ratio to make sure the engine stays lubricated. The rich mixture smells really good when the saw is running tho
The reason you were having trouble starting it is because it appears to have a spring assisted pull start. You are supposed to essentially pull it out without rigging and the starter assembly spoils it up for you. I almost cut my self on a homeowner STIHL MS180c with a similar type of starting mechanism. Drop starting those will actually ruin the spring. I am not a big fan. You can run your 40:1 just fine.
As BBR says, " no one's ever blown up a saw using too much oil" . Plus it keeps the skeeters away. The cheap China saws seem to use those mixes. Although my holzforma (holzcrappile) calls 32:1
They are good if you babysit them, clean the filter everytime and the handle is made of pasta and the plastic cracks in an instant, it's not a stihl which I can drop down from 6 feet. Not meant for serious work. Bucking logs, maybe but in the forest, felling, hardly.
I have a jomac/zomax chainsaw and the on off switch and choke is the same 😮 but how I was taught how to start the chainsaw is to hold the trigger handle in between my legs so there is no risk of injury to my self with a spinning blade 🫣😱
It is remarkable that a 43cc Stihl chainsaw out-cuts a 63cc Chinese chainsaw. Now the Pinkway is not yet broken in, it is running 25/1 fuel, and it has a very different chain…..so its not a really fair comparison. The newer Chinese chainsaws are mostly all exactly identical under the different plastic cosmetics. Buying the least expensive one is smart, esp. for DIY types who are comfortable with repairs and maintenence. I have three very cheap Chinese saws, a 25cc, a 62cc and a 72cc and they are all quite powerful and extremely reliable. Surprisingly, the best is my little 25cc V-Modest. Its 12” bar will cut through anything. I also have an older Stihl MS 026 Pro (49cc) which is absolutely killer, but it so cherished and valuable that I simply cannot force myself to ever use it. I used to think of my cheap Chinese saws as “throwaways”, but they never seem to die. They are easy to fix and dirt cheap to completely rebuild if necessary (which thus far hasn’t been needed). On the other hand I have had to completely rebuild two Stihl’s for friends, an MS180C and an MS271. Both of these had been run way too lean because of invisible fuel line air leaks. Thus they ran too fast and too hot, and they burned up their engines. The local Stihl dealers wouldn’t touch either of them because of the exorbitant cost of OEM parts and labor. So I rebuilt both of them myself using with dirt cheap cloned Chinese parts from Amazon, and they are both back in service running beautifully again. It used to be that Chinese Chainsaws and parts were crap…..but not any more. They’re generally a great deal, and work just fine for home owners. I’m a lover of Stihl’s, Echos, and Husqvarnas, but I wouldn’t buy a new one. I just keep my old ones running forever, and recommend Chinese cheapo’s for non-commercial users. Dr. K.
Those aren’t bad saws, I like them and it has an easy start system where you pull the cord out slowly and it suddenly releases a spring to start it it looked like
I can't find a pinkway anywhere now and I really want one. I want to get one for my 19 year old as his first chainsaw. Sorta a joke, but they're actually nice saws from what I can tell.. with a few drawbacks.
The wemars one is 50 to1 i run 40 to1 but it still has the easy start you can get new one that dont have start assist i cut the spring down and welded to make it stiffer
At that price point it doesn't even really need to last all that long to be worth it right? I think that's the biggest question we all have on these clone saws is what the longevity will be on each one and if there is a company who is actually producing a saw or saws that will have decent reliability over some on the throttle
The way you said manual, and proceeded to throw that, lol. Personally I like manuals and keep them nice. I’ve been lookin at that saw on Amazon, I think I’m gonna resist it tho. I’m gonna start using chainsaws to open boxes to. Since when is Husqvarna 50:1 tho? Stihl oil isn’t the greatest by any means just so you know,I recommend you do some research on oil brands/qualities. I also forget a lot. I like Lawnboy and Husqvarna oils. I also hate wasting stuff. Cool saw, maybe you could port it. I had an old 25:1 saw, but sold it. Cheap saws definately feel cheap, my Senix 4 stroke is that way, stuff breaks a lot. Nice video!
Aah yep, i run an old 2 stroke race bike and they recommend 25:1 for old, high compression, cross your fingers stuff. The more modern we get with higher epa/ emissions standards the more oil efficient 2 strokes become. Ps. It looks like a knockoff of the husky 562xp. Forestry contract changed so we no longer can buy the far superior stihl saws.
Most of the core engine parts of Stihl saws are made in China or Europe. Pinkway is probably nearly the same thing as Stihl. Ur paying extra money to Stihl mostly for the name and to pay the high wages of the American and European factories that do exist. China can sell theirs cheaper even though a lot of the parts are the same because sweatshops
I have so an China Chainsaw in my Garden, it's called Wings of Garden or so on, you feels like that it isn't a Stihl or Husqvarna, but, for an Garden if you saw sometimes Wood for romantic fire or so on, it is perfectly. Jenna if you're gonna use the saw get some anti vibration gloves. They will help your hands and arms. Regular 3/8 chains will make bigger chips. Oh Husqvarna saws use 50:1 mix just like stihl. Take care and have a blessed and safe day and I'll see you on your next video or on tictok 😂😂
Never ever use chainsaws from China, period. There is a reson why Stihl and Husqvarna is the only chainsaws that people use. Because the rest of the chainsaws can KILL YOU

They switch the fuel mix to 50:1 just got the saw and it’s labeled right on the saw 50:1 runs so good for $99 that I got it for
Also, it likely throws more chips than you are use to, because it probably came with a full chisel square ground chain.

Hold throttle with right hand so if it kicks up it will go over your shoulder and not in your head.

40:1 is fine.
