hey mate im looking for a lee enfield in australia, but im kind of confised with the models... which is the flagship/ iconic/ lee enfield definitive model? the SMLE MkIII*? is this also the most abundant model? also which model is the best - better made etc? thanks very much
This looks and sounds beautiful, I've fired off a Kar98 before, had quite a kick (i was 14 at the time though) but the Lee sounds alot more smoother and looks as if it had less recoil, just a guess
Not sure the rifle you speak of exists? Do you mean a No.1 SMLE, a No.2 .22 Trainer, a No.3 (also known as the P14 prior to the 1920s) No.4, a No.5 Jungle Carbine or the extremely rare No.6? Or perhaps the earlier CLLE, MLE or even the original MLM (Lee-Metford)?
Nice rifle, nice video. Thanks! I'm wondering why I see so many gun videos made in Oz: I thought your gun laws were very tight, esp. on semi-autos. Does your WWII-era rifle get a pass because it's collectible/historic? Also, note how in the hands of an accomplished marksman this weapon could do a LOT of damage, approaching that of a semi-auto!
I was actually looking to get a Lee Enfield, anyone know a good place to pick one up? I just got a perfect Mosin Nagant and he needs an English friend.
um... shooting shit lol not very in to hunting, so will just take it outback and shoot around but i think i found myself the answer, its the SMLE MkIII that i want? am i right? )
Ah, the good old 303 - every house in Australia should have one. :)
that looks great to fire!! boy you gotta love the 303!
I have one made in 1918 that's in very good condition. I picked it up in a Walmart in Charleston, SC back in the 80s. Great rifle.
Those clouds look like a freakin painting, beautiful countryside.
Outstanding. Don't know why, but I could tell this was Australia right away. Nice video.

Nice bolt draw mate... real nice.
that is an awesoooooome rifle!
@Jollygreenslugg i love lee enfield rifle this is my fav weapon .
and i have question how much is your lee enfield
I heard of all wwII bolt action rifles, the Lee Enfield had the smoothest bolt.

Love shooting my SMLE and M-1 Garand. Thanks for the video. 5/5
Those are some nasty hangfires, but great rifle and jacket. Good shooting!

my fave is the jungle carbine i refinished it
i have one but the prev owner made a few changes...very nice rifle tho...did i mention it was free....1942 lithgow smle mk3
very nice rifle, i prefer the smle enfield to the No.4 enfield
is it grandfathered?
That gun probly has the fastest bolt-action in the world, imo.
Gerry had plenty of their own rifles to use, the hole is just a gas vent.
I wish i had your gun, accent and lived in Australia
Seems to be a fair rifle for precision firing... not much of a recoil, and a large mag... heard good things about the Lee Enfield SMLE :)
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeett !
5/5
cool shooting,i prefer a bolt action rifle over the semi autos.they're better balanced an less trouble .the smle the best of them.5 star.

Their short stocks and low combs are the reason I stay away from SMLEs. It is a classic though.
lol mate you have an uncany likness to one Mark "choper" reed with the sunnys, jacket and mk3 lol.
the rifle has some kick, huh.
Nice one, I'd prefer the 303 to a freakin la98a1 anyday...
Where's the Vegemite?
What are the gun laws in AUS these days?
The Lee Enfield is a true beauty, she's my favorite gun,and I think that beauty is the Angel of guns,I want to sleep with that....:P
Saw a couple of hang fires there, this happened to me, made me jump.
I love the Australian gun laws, there awesome its not as easy as america but not excessively hard, but the fees are annoying
yep wonderfull weapon; some police ofrces around the world are using custom version of this rifle
ANZACS r fooking legends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She?!?! not a little opsessif?
Man you remind me of Mark reed. (chopper). No offence intended.
um... shooting shit lol
