I injected Adequan tonight and i saw a lump form as I was injecting it. I did not stop because I pulled back and knew i wasn't in a vein and quite honestly, my horse is 3 and I didn't want to poke him again. I waited around for a while and within 10 minutes the lump shrunk quite a bit. My question is: Did my horse get his dose of Adequan even through the injection was subcutaneous instead of IM? Thank you, great video!
+AntiqueUnicorn He means pull back on the plunger a little bit, to create a little suction. If you are in a blood vessel, you will get blood flow into the syringe. If I see that, I stop, pull back the needle a little bit, go in a different direction, pull back the plunger again. If no more blood flows in, go ahead and inject. I might put some pressure on the injection site for a minute after withdrawing the needle.
I love the masking tape visual! It really helps me know where to put the needle. Thank you so much for posting this.

That's interesting. I'm starting Adequan also and I hate giving shots. But you said subcutaneous. I thought Adequan is I.M.?
Thank you! Very helpful. I had always heard to rub them briskly first. What is the purpose of that? Same as pinching the skin?
It can draw blood flow into the area. I was taught that it can be good to do that afterwards to help get it to spread.
Thanks! :)
your patient is beautiful :)
Thanks..♥️
when they say pull back they mean the needle or the syringe?

I wish I could see this video before vaccinating my horse. 😥
Is that's real or it made with artificial intelligence
Horse is cute, so is the girl.
All that moving the needle hurts the animal.
