About the Bute. I have the powdered form and the paste in the tube. The directions on both say 1 - 2 grams per day for a 500lb horse. Then the directions goes on to say to give the higher dose for 48 hours then back down to the lower maintenance dose. Does not say for how long to give the maintenance dose. Then You said 1 -2 grams for a standard size horse, which is usually considered to be 1,000 lb horse. So, I am a little confused as to the proper measurement. My horse is (according to the weight tape measurment) is just under 900lbs. So would I stay with the dose for a 500lb horse? There is no info that I can find of the measurement to use for a horse that is between sizes.
