We love him at any age! But he was so gorgeous when he was younger, even playing homicidal maniacs like Lord Lebanon in 'The Curse of the Frightened Lady' and pot smoking smugglers like Kurt in 'Nachts auf den Straßen'. Marius had such beautiful diction and enunciation and could really roll his 'R's'. That's his extensive theatre background!
Unfortunately, most of the original colour videotapes of The Expert were wiped by the BBC. Well into the 1970s, it routinely destroyed recordings of its programmes to wipe and reuse the tapes, to free up storage space, or just because they thought they had no further value. This episode and other episodes only survive as black and white telerecordings but the entire four seasons were originally produced and broadcast in colour. This article about the BBC erasing tapes is really interesting. www.mentalfloss.com/article/501607/wipe-out-when-bbc-kept-erasing-its-own-history
One gets the feeling , that was based on a real case , anyway , it was very well done . Thank you !
Thank you for posting another great episode from this series.
Enjoying this. Even the slightly stilted manner of speech from an earlier age. And Marius Goring is better mature than when he was young.

The husband saying, "I dont understand whats going on. Whats happening?" in the very end, is probably the very reason his wife was leaving him. Daff

@@Nellynog62 l knew they did that with the early Doctor Who episodes bit l can't believe they were still doing it in the 70's...such a shame.
I just love The Expert, but I have been thinking, did USA copy this idea when they made Quincy, M.E.? Seams like it.
Yes, they did!
