Could you imagine they wrote this song 9 years ago with the lyric about the event that unveiled in the manga around last year for the finale chapter and in anime this year part 2 to next year for final part. How crazily long this song has been teasing about this epic event.
So much emotions packed in this one song. The entire OST slaps, but this one's got to be my favorite. Just instantly brings back so many feels. This is also why AoT is my favorite anime; it made me feel fear and suspense like no other anime achieved yet.
I’m a simple guy: I see AoT, I click Song with same name as this one Season 3 so you may not react to it for a while but absolutely one of the best ost’s I’ve ever heard and definitely worth a listen
Love the reactions. I have very little knowledge on music composition and really appreciate the way you break it down. Sawano is probably one of my favorite composers in anime. His osts always feel so epic but also have a good amount of emotional depth. Another composer that I like a lot is Kevin Penkin. All of the shows he has worked on have a very different feel and his ability to match the vibe of the show is uncanny. Definitely think you would appreciate the way he constructs his songs. His most well known soundtracks are from Made in Abyss, Rising of the Shield Hero, Tower of God, and Star Wars Visions: Village Bride. All of them have great overall soundtracks but also stellar standalone songs.
I see a lot of people commenting that you should have reacted to the WMId version from later seasons, but this one is still the best in my opinion. Nothing beats this classic and I'm glad you reacted to it, as few reacters do.
As much as I love this version, it misses the most hype part with the vocalist reaching high notes only to break into a higher note until she hits her peak note. It’s so gas.

Although you are right on the other vocalist hitting those high notes. It's why I usually listen to them back to back when I listen to the soundtrack. Lmao

It’s kinda glossed over which is sad because they are my personal favorite part. Even though I like WMld better and it’s more dynamically musical, I feel like if you’re going to the gym or something and just want pure epic feel that is ubiquitous across the song, this one definitely delivers better. What's even more crazy is that this whole song (which was made for the anime in 2013 for season 1) foreshadows the major and most important event to occur in season 4 in 2022 so it's basically telling us what would cone without spoiling anything too major to ruin the experience. Absolute genius!

Plenty of people talk about Wmid. I'm more bothered about other masterpieces that are generally way more overlooked like Barrichestra, Eren Zahyo or Thanksat ;_;
Every channel that reacts to ataek on taitn reacts to the WMId version so i feel it's the other way around. The mika kobayashi's version is imo better since she complements the song instead of sounding like it was put over the sound (like WMId version) and her voice fits the tone of the song much better

If you ever decide to listen to the wmid version of the song (the first half has new phenomenal vocals + other small, yet pretty good, changes) there is a suite version that has even more new small arranges that aren't even in the album version, suite video is long but that's because it has like 6 songs on it but attack on titan wmid is the first one (you will realize when it ends pretty easily)
Another a little bit underrated ost for me is Zero Eclipse although it is the most epic when you listen to it in the first time during that scene in season 3. It's in English too, so you can understand the meaning
