I flew the tech alpha as well and did some of the same canyon flying. The jump in fidelity between 2020 and 2024 is nothing short of amazing. The small details really jump out as well, like have species correct trees and shrubs in the canyons instead of generic trees. I can't wait!!!
I've been through it in a helicopter (this was a VERY long time ago--1986), and it seems that the colors IRL are a bit more vibrant. This could be due to weather, air quality, any number of things. However, as far as the texture and scale, your video captures a lot of it, given that the Grand Canyon is one of those places that is barely even captured in IMAX. You simply have to be there.
I flew over the grand canyon in a tourist helicopter about 25 years ago, the colours are a lot more vibrant that it looks in your video, the rocks are a lot redder.
Depends on time of day - better colours early morning and before sunset but washed out midday. That’s what I have seen on my 3 trips to the Grand Canyon
I flew there in 2016 and I am a hobby phtographer. I have to say that the colours depend a lot on the position of the sun as well as the haze and the way you are looking at it. Of course clouds etc. have also an effect. So it is really hard to make 1:1 comparison.
Yes, I’d think the colors have much to do with the position of the sun/time of day. With them being more rich when the sun is low. The video appears closer to mid-day.
Hi, Phil from the UK… re the monitor, I have a 4K but find when trying to run graphics at Ultra, things slow down a lot. (I have a good spec PC btw). However, as soon as I go to 2K, frame rates climb significantly, without any noticeable degradation of the image. We have always been told, Flight sim is a balance or trade-off, and so it seems. Hope this helps….
Stunning scenery and great flying! I'm counting the days until the release! How much ram does your computer have. I only have 16g and am wondering if I need to upgrade.
@@streamgamerz6542 it's a VR head set, they are very nice to fly around with but you will have to control everything with your mouse, you can't see your hands to control your throttle quadrant if you have one or keyboard, I have the HP Reverb and an Oculus 3 but I still rather use a screen.
@@streamgamerz6542 Try it ONCE and you'll never go back to flying on a monitor or TV, I promise. It will absolutely blow your mind like you've never experienced before. I'm a real world pilot, and I just can't tell you enough how much you should try to test it somewhere. You're missing out 😊 Very good video btw, I'm looking forward to see what we get at launch on the 19th. Have a great weekend! Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
@@SillyPuddy2012I’ve been there many many times. I’m not going to pay attention to photos from google. I have my own photos that I’ve taken each time i was there. The river is solid brown every time I’ve been there. I trust my photos.
@ you can do that, I’m just stating a fact. The color depends on the sediment in the water, and/or the presence of algae. That’s true of any waterway, including the Colorado.
@@SillyPuddy2012 I see. You're answering a question that was never asked. Here's the question to your answer. "Does water change color when different amounts of sediment or algae is present in it". The question I answered was "Does this video look like the Grand Canyon"
@@streamgamerz6542 I did have a 48" 4K TV but it was only 60Hz which really cut my FPS down to half so I gave it to my wife for her she shed LOL, I'm planning to get a 144Hz TV, a 50" is about a good size to get. anything else is too big for how close I'll be to the screen. Hope this helps in your decision.

Thanks for you comment, i could not agree more with you on all points :)

yeah i would agree . Being there IRL is the preferred
I can’t believe how good those canyon walls look. Makes me pumped for release!
yeah me as well
Agreed. I'm super impressed
Ty for you comment
Just spectacular! I can't wait for November 19th.
Me either where will you fly first?

Thanks, i will be posting more MSFS 2024 Content
Beautiful graphics!
Thanks for the visit

Thank you for you view, it is kind of the same view i have had for some time.

My specs are 32gig DDR 4 3600Mhz ram Ryzen 7 5800 X3D and RTX 4080
Oh yes you do, You need at least 32 gigs
@@mason19548 Thank you, the ram is ordered & on the way!
Well the specs chart says you can do it with 16g ram but i would suggest 32g would be better to have and likely a fair cost effective upgrade
Keep your current monitor. Get a Pimax Crystal Light.
what is this ?

Thanks for the info. i am also worried about it that last time i tried VR and a friends place it upset my stomach badly
looks rough. good thing ai filters will make it looks perfect
Fingers crossed!
Environmental shadow clipping still a problem that has plagued 2020 as well. Still not resolved
Yeah... although keep in mind this is a Alpha not finally release
The river itself is actually brown water in reality. I'd post photos if I could.
IThanks for the response. If you are interested you can post them in my discord channel discord.gg/gmp5YGP9
It depends on the amount of sentiment in the water. If you Google pics of the Colorado River in the canyon, you’ll see it both brown and blue/green.

The river does not seem realistic. I'm looking for rapids and don't see them.
Maybe i did not fly where that is. i will keep a eye out for water falls once the new sim comes out
Just an observation for now. I hope you will fly the same route again after the Nov. 19 release and see if the water effects are better.
I will certainly put that on my list of things to do. Maybe a live stream
It's a flight simulator, not a river simulator 😂
If you get a TV make sure it's at least a 120Hz refresh rate.
