I bought a 2023 Bronco Raptor having had 3 Jeeps previous to the Raptor. I have almost 4k miles on it and have taken it on some very technical trails. All i can say is....i agree with everything you said in this video, 100%.
Among the best reviews of the Braptor so far. Congrats. I just got word from my dealer that I’m getting a build date soon on my Iconic silver Braptor and I’m super excited. I’ll be tuned in for all your future content. I think I’ll stick with the KOs here in the UP of Mich for the snow. But who knows down the road.
This was an incredible review of the raptor. As Matt mentions, it's finer to have people who really don't drive off road show you the vehicle and show you around the interior and give you all the specs, however, giving real input on the performance of the vehicle and to give people an idea of whether or not to even take it seriously, really needs to be done by someone who does a lot of off roading. What's cool to me is that now with the Raptor being right up there with a jeep, we will all benefit from the improvements that situation will bring our way in both vehicles.
Thank you for the compliment! That was the point I was trying to convey...that yes, it will impress the heck out of any car reviewer regardless of their wheeling experience, but the fact that it impresses me this much says a lot.
I think its cool that ford is offering some serious equipment right from the factory. Always loved jeeps and broncos, but jeep always seemed to rely too heavily on aftermarket instead of offering it from the dealer. Seemed like a wasted opportunity, and I think the xtreme recon package proves this. Buying a jeep and doing a full top to bottom build is awesome, but I think in the end these factory spec rigs end up working better all around and have all the extras, like unique interior, that are difficult to add at the level that OEM can, and thats not to mention electronic stuff like the raptor has for disabling traction control and ABS.
Bump, after watching Lite Brites video on them putting this thing through the wringer and positive feedback and you pretty much echoing that ide say this things is a hell of a rig. Congrats
I never understood brand loyalty unless you work for the company or own stock. I've owned a jeep, and for a 6’2, 260lb man, they suck. They have a tight cab and drive awful on the road. I love the look of a jeep, but I can't wait to get a bronco.
I owned 5 different types of jeeps and my last being a gladiator on 37s. I just picked up a Sasquatch Bronco and these new vehicles can't be denied. The raptor edition is real sick. Thick headed jeepers don't know what they're missing.
I have a diesel gladiator myself. I don’t find much discrepancy at all in ride quality between it and the sasquatch. I of course have a trick suspension on it along with 39s and I love the way it drives. 80mph is a completely comfortable experience outside the wind noise
@@mattbrew11 I'm sure it does but my gas powered gladiator had problems from day 1 of hitting dirt. Not 1 out of 4 local dealers could fix the multiple problems, $55,000 later of course. It's not just about smooth ride. It's about what are you getting for your money. I got ripped off by jeep.
I haven’t seen anyone put a mud terrain on the bronco raptor I was thinking of getting the Cooper STT pro for my new bronco raptor any thoughts on that?
Lol just learned the bolt pattern was different on our last run. Tried to borrow a spare from a regular Bronco for a Braptor that got 2 flats and they didn’t bolt up. Wish I would have watched this video earlier.
I have driven one at a Press event, and it was not THAT fast lol. However it was the most off road capable stock 4x4 I have ever driven lol, so I ordered one🤣 I am a carryover order from 2022 model year, which guarantees me a 2023. It is why I wont switch lol. On a 4x4 that is a trail toy, like my Bronco Raptor, I'll definitely use a more aggressive tire.
I don't think speed is the issue a lot of us have with no V8. As an owner of a chevy SS that has a v8, the sound, the torque and the longevity of that engine are why I'd want another v8. But the character of a v8 vehicle just hits differently. Bigger problem I have is no 2 door Raptor. I know Im in the minority but I really really want a 2 door Bronco raptor. The 4 door is just too big for me and doesn't look as good IMO.
Hard to compare the bronco to a wrangler. Both are built for different purposes. If I wanted to rally on some rough roads I would consider a bronco. But I prefer rock crawling.
The Raptor can rock crawl as well. That's why it's better. On road, high speed off-road, moderate trails, difficult and do most of the rock crawling better than a wrangler.
@@nickburns5571 the fender flares are attached the same as the standard Bronco. inside are some quarter turn tabs and they come right off. the BR was also developed by Loren Healy a Ultra4 offroad champ. if he signs off on the BR's capabilities it's got to be legit.

I am willing to bet that the stock 3.0 in the Raptor isn't all that much quicker than my 2.7 Bronco. The least they could have done is put the 3.5 in it. Optimally, it would have been the 3.5 PowerBoost or a supercharged Coyote or Godzilla.
I was hoping for the 3.5 as well. I think TFL did a drag race between the 2.7 Bronco and the Raptor (they also included the 392 Wrangler in that video).
The 3.0 twin turbo is massively better than the 2.7. Our company Bronco doesn’t come close, especially on the same 37’s. Once tuning is opened up on this motor, it’ll be making +500hp all day long.
@@desertchief5769 The 2.7 could easily make 500 HP, but that's not the point, nor was I comparing overall capabilities of the chassis. The Raptor chassis is superior, but the Raptor weighs 5700# and my 2 door 2.7 Bronco weighs 4416#. My point was power to weight, which along with the stock rims and tires on my OBX makes it nearly as fast as the stock Raptor without any mods to the OBX, with mild mods, the 2 door 2.7 Bronco OBX is capable of beating the Raptor on tarmac in a drag race. Power to weight matters.
Dude, you could have just gotten high quality spacers that change the lug pattern to what you need. I know it's not ideal, but accomplishes the goal of your wheel package.
Jeep only gave people the 392 because of the Bronco. Good suspension, better tech, more comfortable, drives better, looks better, more space and that's it.
