It's true. How and when this eventually happened is unknown, but it's been admitted too now. Which really does explain why they dropped the queen of hearts "as an octopus" look and went for what they did. And created the only disney villain who measures up to scar in my opinion.
So interesting seeing all the original artwork and how much change each character goes through to become who they are! The amount of work that goes into each and every individual piece added to a dismay film is insane! Helps you appreciate the work the animators have to go through! 😍
The Little Mermaid we have today is lovely, but it would also be cool if it was more similar to the concept art. The psychedelic vibes, the patterns, and Ariel's design are awesome!

Disney's vision for female characters: take unique concept art and make characters younger, prettier, less independent, very few flaws and much more "sweet and likable." The initial idea for Jasmine and Ariel seemed much more interesting than the barbie dolls we got. And I say this as a huge fan of those movies.
Ok so maleficent almost killed a 16 year old princess and a prince, became a fricken dragon, and almost burnt down a castle...just because she was not invited to a party?! WTF DISNEY

Besides, it’s fun to see them changing things like this, and also gives young girls a new perspective on diversity :)

So do I, when it comes to certain things. It’s like the treat the words supposed and originally as the same word even though they have different meanings.
Sarah Hodges, some of them look better than the original one, in my opinion. Cuz to me, some of the originals look kinda bland, maybe it’s cuz I’ve watched the Disney films like a 100 times or something, so I got bored with the designs
These days you can’t trust channels like this.

Original Ariel be like: Pass the weed
You could have gotten more likes if this wasn't racist ,jerk
So this is not to seems sarcastic, but how is it racist? I don't understand. They were just talking about how the hippie version of Ariel would just be like pass the weed.
@@justtired7693 Knowing the way this generation thinks they probably think Hippies are a race lol
Because there's absolutely nothing racist about that comment
@@justtired7693 black people are associated with smoking weed or doing drugs that's why it's racist
@@eslirastar666 you would not understand so how would you know if it was racist or not? Blacks find that comment more racist than another race here, some blacks have changed not all of them smoke weed dumbass
I actually like Ariel's concept a lot.
2:08 Elsa looks like Sasuke 😂
Underated
I believe the inspiration for Ursula's exaggerated makeup, how high her eyebrows are, and her overall figure was inspired by Godiva Divine. I could be wrong but that's what I was told. But I mean aesthetically, I'd totally believe it without any question.
You are right.
It's true. How and when this eventually happened is unknown, but it's been admitted too now. Which really does explain why they dropped the queen of hearts "as an octopus" look and went for what they did. And created the only disney villain who measures up to scar in my opinion.
Host: QUICK THINK OF YOUR FAVORITE DISNEY PRINCESS
Me: Shuri from black panther🤷🏽♀️
Yass
WAKANDA FOREVA
Oof
Disney? No.
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas
The final look of Userla was inspired by a drag queen called "Divine"! XD
So interesting seeing all the original artwork and how much change each character goes through to become who they are! The amount of work that goes into each and every individual piece added to a dismay film is insane! Helps you appreciate the work the animators have to go through! 😍
i really think they should have made jasmine with the covering outfit, it’s more appropriate to her culture and they should respect that
Lily Foster they are actually allowed to where those things most of the time. I am part of her culture
Myrra Uppuluri but thinking about the fact that that’s very, very early arabia
Tbh none of this even makes sense to me 💀
What do you mean?
Who else was here for black Ariel but only got disappointment?
Disapointement 100%
Disapointment 100%
I was so upset
Me
she would look like moana
I heard Ariel was initially blonde, but they needed to set her apart from aurora/cinderella
Everyone's talking about Elsa and Jasmine but i just really want a psychedelic Ariel movie.
Very true
I didnt grown up with "let it go" I grew up with "who is that girl I see staring right back at meeeeeee"😂😂❤
Disney always nailed the illustrations in the end. I can't imagine their characters in any other way. UwU
Who else thought omg Sleeping Beauty stole Jasmine's outfit fr 😂 lol
sleeping beauty came way before Aladdin
That Ursula with the Mohawk looks like the she belongs in don bluth films or a troll in Central Park specifically

The Little Mermaid we have today is lovely, but it would also be cool if it was more similar to the concept art. The psychedelic vibes, the patterns, and Ariel's design are awesome!
Who likes hippie ariel / psychedelic sea concept better than original
Black haired Elsa: fake laugh
Glamorous malifacint: HA “slow claps”
Old jasmine: Da........
Hippy Ariel: HAHAHAHA
Creepy scar: OMG OMG WHAT DA.....
Weird beast: ummmmmmnnmmmmmmmmm
Cute dumbo: Awwwwww
Fish ursala: WHAT D.... DA
😝 😝 😝
So were not gonna talk about how the pink dress Jasmine is wearing is the one Naomi Scott wore in 'Speechless'
Disney's vision for female characters: take unique concept art and make characters younger, prettier, less independent, very few flaws and much more "sweet and likable." The initial idea for Jasmine and Ariel seemed much more interesting than the barbie dolls we got. And I say this as a huge fan of those movies.
I like that they used the original outfit in the new alladin movie
I still think Elsa's original concept art was better.
Elsa use to have Sasuke hair woah. She was almost Elsa Uchiha
omg i noticed that too!!!!! This needs a shoutout!!!!!
She resembles me of Speed of sound sonic from one punch man
She got the duckbutt
Ok so maleficent almost killed a 16 year old princess and a prince, became a fricken dragon, and almost burnt down a castle...just because she was not invited to a party?! WTF DISNEY
8:04 now that´s Scar who can defeat Mufasa like a true king
Lookin savage af xD
Ariel as the little mermaid from Hans Christian Andersen's story had golden hair and pale skin I think
Just A Channel She did. A TV series of H.C. Andersens stories was created around the 2000s here in Denmark, where she was also depicted with blonde hair :)
Yeah Disney deviated a lot from the original. I don't understand why people are shocked they're doing it again.
Nini White i think most people are a little butt hurt over the fact that it isn’t “geographically” correct, or at least correct according to the theories, that The little mermaid is Scandinavian. But since they seem to be casting an entirely diverse cast, I (as a Scandinavian) personally think it’s totally fine. Besides, it’s fun to see them changing things like this, and also gives young girls a new perspective on diversity :)
@@dal_exe9129 no its just racism
SusCuss Agreed
"As realistic as a mermaid can look" dark blue skin, no hair, big black eyes, long fingers glued by those duck things and mucus-covered body.
Ƿynnťari yea Ariel was actually green but I love their effort
@@aki9059 no....she wasn't. This is a bullshit lie being spread around by SO many people. Hans Christian Anderson's Little Mermaid was BLONDE with FAIR SKIN. She didn't have any sort of strange colored skin.
Also a "realistic" mermaid would have translucent skin aka see-through. Living at the bottom of an ocean or sea where there is no reflective light would make it so.
@@Sterling_Qrow
Well she is described as having skin as clear and as delicate as a rose leaf in the book so it is understandable how people can get that she was supposed to be green.
Crysta Blade wow imagine being pressed over a skin color
@@lilchristuten7568 delicate as a rose leaf meaning her skin is as soft as a rose leaf, Does not mean the green of the leaf is her skin color, People need to learn to read the meaning of actual words
Is no one talking about the fact that the original design for Elsa kinda looks like The Ice Queen? Or am I the only one that knows that movie ;---;
Frozen is based off of The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen. Disney even used his name to create their characters for Frozen :)
Hans (.. Hans)
Christian (Christoff)
Ander (Anna)
Sen (Sven)
it's because she's the ice queen :) They initially wanted to make her the evil queen, but changed their minds later
A Random Trans Kid nope well not watched it I watch frozen like if frozen two I have but not the ice queen OR snow queen
I really think Disney should add more brown skin princess and without makeup and a boyfriend. Girls aren’t all about dresses and makeup! The are also not crazy for a prince all the time!
Neely players Truth. Original characters. Not recycling old ones
I'd like a story of bad Elsa . Wanna see a story like this. Who else would like it ?
There is one, the original story that inspired Elsa was called "The Ice Queen" She wasn't called Elsa, she was just called the "ice queen" but in the story, she kidnapped kids and would freeze them into ice by blowing kisses. I don't remember the full story, but you can find it on google ❤
It exists
Here when the ACTUALLY mad ARIEL BLACK
The first Jasmine was absolutely gorgeous--
If you want a crazy villain worse than Maleficent, watch Disney's "hidden movie" The Black Cauldron 😈

Concept art is supposed to be crap not beautiful, it’s just finding an answer to the question, once you make multiple versions you select what attributes work from the personality and what doesn’t
*The Little Mermaid got more popular because there was a fat villain for once*
Wait, ain't that like saying to kids 'fat people are bad'.
Much like people thinking disney villains are gay are like saying 'gay people are evil'?
Dabber Master you know that’s not true at all. But if that’s why you watched it shame on you. “Thank god they finally showed the evil villain as fat. That’s how they are supposed to be”
