This guys story is my own spent countless hours as a kid with pigeons just watching them fly or roost. And would you believe my second son now 17 has been in pigeons for 5 years without me even telling him I loved the birds. Lifes a trip .

Love this man! I'm quite the same, here in France. I love my rescued pigeons and take great care of them all. People often criticize me, sometimes it hurt, but it don't care. Pigeons are incredible birds, once you get to know them.
Hope you still got them .. despite what people think or say !! Pigeons , especially carrier pigeons are the best homies ever.

This was a wonderful story!! I am a huge bird fanatic and grew up raising chickens, quail and pigeons. Currently I have a pet pigeon who lives with me. In fact he is on my shoulder watching this video with me. Pigeons are awesome, beautiful, and super smart!!!
I SO understand exactly what you're saying! I had to give mine up after about 20 years and it still drives me nuts not having them. I dream about them most nights, feeding, cleaning, flying. Those were the days. Keep at it! You choose the right place to be!

Really don't like how some people refer to Pigeons as flying rats. They aren't. I still marvel at their variety of feather patterns. Their variety of colours. And oh don't get me started on the iridescence thing. And their grace. And it's funny, I find their cooing peaceful 🕊🐾

Charles Darwin selected and cross bred with pigeons. It helped him to write "the origin of species".
This was my life for almost 14 years, me and my pigeons! I started off with 7 pigeons until I had almost 100. I put all my effort love and time into my pigeons! I used to save my lunch money, starve myself just so I could feed my birds properly!!! I even got very ill and had been unable to move for a while! Long story short I came home from school one day and all my pigeons were gone the babies the eggs, they took everything, yup my pride and joy and all that I lived for at that time was gone just like that, and at that moment is when life changed for me😌
His reasons to live with pigeons have a wide meaning . I appreciate his words . This also reflects a human interest .

my grandpa and my family have about 60-100 pigeons in our backyard in wonogiri city in indonesia...we built house , bird houses for them..i visited my family in 2016 and spent 2 months in that house..playing everyday with all the pigeons its almost like im in heaven

Truely heart warming
Watching these beautiful birds flying around is so satisfying. I often go to my roof and see these flocks flying around esp at the time of sunset, it is mesmerising. Where i live people are very fond of these birds and everyday there are upto 15-20 flocks flying around all over the city.
this is a very nice documentary on rooftop pigeon flying. I did this as a kid in Manhattan's lower east side Broom and Clinton St. I am now 74yrs old and I still love them as the first day!

@@alexzabala2154 That’s a myth that too much of the population believes unfortunately. Pigeons do NOT spread diseases as frequently as you might think. They’re actually rather clean animals.
Also, what are you gonna do, blame them for something they’re not in control of? That’s on the off-chance they even have something capable of being spread to humans.

Daves seems a realy nice guy his pigeons look in great health i kept racing pigeons for over 50 years i know daves are not racers but watching them fly around is still nice and very relaxing

My dad kept ‘homers’ and ‘flights’ on top of a factory in Williamsburg back in the day. Pigeons get a bad rap but they are special in so many ways.

My Dad did this same exact thing growing up in Bushwick. He used to build the coops. Seeing this brings such beautiful memories being in the coop with my dad and going to buy pigeons with my dad as a young girl.

Pigeons helped my father leave rooster fights. Since its illegal to fight them in US people always run the risk of getting caught . and the risk went away when he took care of pigeons rather than roosters . a single bird determined ones life.
Dave you are a passionate flyer of these amazing,wonderful birds,I love the way you love your birds and look after them,I have been hooked on pigeons since I was 10 Y/O,I am now 70 and could not imagine life without my birds.The Pigeon is the bird with a secret,and they have never spilt the beans,we still wonder.
