- After helping him secure a job, George wants to get Elaine an extra-special present. A marked-down cashmere sweater is perfect if it weren't for a certain red dot...but really, you can only see it when you look for it, right?
From Seinfeld Season 3 Episode 12, 'The Red Dot': George gets a job at Elaine's office and gets involved with the cleaning woman. Elaine's boyfriend is a recovering alcoholic who falls off the wagon because of Jerry's carelessness. George buys Elaine a marked-down cashmere sweater.

About Seinfeld:
Seinfeld stars Jerry Seinfeld as a stand-up comedian whose life in New York City is made even more chaotic by his quirky group of friends who join him in wrestling with life's most perplexing, yet often trivial questions. Often described as "a show about nothing," Seinfeld mines the humor in life's mundane situations like waiting in line, searching for a lost item, or the trials and tribulations of dating. Co-starring are Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Jerry's ex-girlfriend and current platonic pal, Elaine Benes; Jason Alexander as George Costanza, Jerry's neurotic hard-luck best friend; and Michael Richards as Jerry's eccentric neighbor, Kramer.

I like how neither Jerry, George or Elaine could see the red dot until it was pointed out, but you have Kramer just relaxing on the couch and peeks over and sees it 15 feet away.
That how scotch works! There is its value.
Well he is Cosmo Kramer after all.
@@winjaywin LOL
Scotch lol
While being DRUNK, no less!
I like how Kramer is pretty much immediately drunk after just a few shots.
Must've been the good stuff
Well it’s dat H-E- Double N brah
He must be a light weight
because he didnt eat in years
That's Hannigan's all right!
"you can smell me even without the drink"

For some reason I thought Kramer could hold his liquor a little better than that.
Me too, but after seeing Jerry drinking it and making that face, I assume that liquor was just very strong.
“I’ve been using this as a paint thinner”
Definitely added in later
Nice catch! Definitely
Really, interesting, have you seen the same scene where Jerry doesn't say that?
@@planetX15 He means it's very obviously ADR'd, the main giveaway being that you don't see Jerry's face when the line is delivered. That's usually the case when dialogue is added in during editing.
it's so funny wheneevr Kramer enters Jerry's apartment and gets shocked to see him there
Do you have a friend named Harold? Because you two could be Harold and Kumar.
Seinfeld is the best tv show ever!
@@yamatotakeru9078 actually The Rockford Files is the greatest show. But thanks for playing!
@@sstills951 idk, The Lawrence Welk Show is better than Rockford Files💁
Its because he is always just casually there when Jerry isn't lol
It's funny that Elaine gives George a hug but she never actually says "thank you". Totally fits with her character.
Is there actually a red dot on the sweater? I can't see anything.
Either way, I'd still buy it also.
I would have been happy to get s great sweater with a tiny dot nobody would ever notice (Kramer doesn't count).
The cleaning woman saw it.
Yes, the cleaning woman, the woman in the store...and Kramer counts!
@@bossfan49 So did Elaine's boyfriend at the end.
Just wear it around the house!
Lmao, yeah we all know Kramer's a space alien
The good thing about water, you can drink it at work.
The good thing about vodka's, it looks like water.
Why, that’ll be our little secret
Not sure whether to make a Jim Lahey or a Meredith Palmer reference
Here's hoping you don't work in public transport/contruction etc.

Best definition of George in 9 seasons.
Everything in the whole world is about George.
You could EASILY cover up a red dot on clothing with white fabric paint lol
Be better to dye the whole sweater red
@@MinaF99 Later: "What is that white dot there?"
I see a very cheap man holding a sweater trying to get away with something.
That's my overview - Jerry 😂😂😂😂
Love the Hennigan commercial. Hennigan the no smell no tell scotch.
‘I am going to tell you what i think’ from kramer is already a warning for george. 😂😂
You want me to take an overview? I see a very cheap man holding a sweater trying to get away with something.
Tbh, spending $84 on a sweater for a friend's holiday present is not so cheap
@@justcogitating especially back then! Thats gotta be like 120-150 by now.
@@justcogitating come on. George was being deceitful by pretending there was nothing wrong with it. He bought the sweater ONLY because it gave him the chance to pretend he paid a lot of money for it. He could have gotten something else. If it was heartfelt, he would have been honest about the damage from the start.
@@maralonent6257 yeah and Elaine would probably still appreciate it if he was straight with her

The way Jerry does the drink like Kramer 😂
"You want me to take an overview?" hilarious.
Brush a bit of Liquid Paper (correction fluid, white-out, etc.)
over that red dot before giving it to Elaine - problem solved.
Kramer has a great vision.
he was in the army you know
@@alia1413 Briefly.
Early season Elaine was so cute
I find spending 85 dollars on a gift a fortune.
And them's 1991 dollars
Even a text is a hassle. 😂
Especially with Biden’s economy right now. 🤔🤦🏾♂️
its around $185 today. George was not really being cheap.
Almost $200 in 2024
George holding his hands to Elaine: AT CHRISTMAS TIME. HAHAHA 🤣
George: Elaine , you don't understand. I had 103 temperature when I bought that sweater. I was so dizzy I was seeing red dots everywhere. I thought everything in the store had a red dot on it. I couldn't distinguish one red dot from another. I couldn't afford anything. I have nothing. I haven't worked for a really long time. I mean look, I have no clothes, look at what I'm wearing. It's just a little red dot.
0:27 the quickest hand in the west !
"of course its cashmere"
You knew when Kramer was in the room he would notice the dot and of course call it out.
nice tribute to Jacques Tati in the serving of the whisky!
What a typical Seinfeld-episode 😂😂
$85 in 1991 is $174 in 2022-money.
Jerry doesn't have a poker face
H, E. DOUBLE N I.....
George should have given Elain the sweater in her apartment and if someone said something about the red dot he should act surprised and say he didn't even notice it.
If you smell Kramer without the drink, you'll probably smell the OCEAN... :D
Do you see it or dont you? Do i see it or dont i? Good one 🤣
I just found out today there is no such thing as Hennigans Scotch😖
Hahaha🤫🤔🍸You, can smell me.....Without, the drink - Oy.
Remember, kramer smelling elaine.....Alright, wiff away, lol.
Kramer is their subconscious , of course . He's not real . He's there to remind them when they are being petty ,selfsh , jealous, dishonest etc
They never show the red dot 🔴
Loose as a goose 😂😂😂😂
George should've just eaten the $85 and said they didn't have any more in that size or something lol
All he really had to do was say he didn’t notice it at first and that it was on sale so he can’t return it. Doesn’t necessarily mean he knew the stain existed and that’s why it was marked down. Makes him seem a little cheap but the truth makes it way worse.
I don’t know why you CAN’T smell booze would be an indication that you’re too CLOSE to the bottle. 😄
Yeah that didn't make sense 😕
My favorite episode
Truly, truly, truly… hilarious!
How on earth could Elaine think that George would buy her a kashmir for no reason?
Well, Kramer's done it again! Now, I want to have a couple of shots of Hennigan's before my job interview.
And you’ll be loose as a goose and ready to roll in no time!
What about that move Kramer is doing with the cup before drinking? And Jerry does the same move with the bottle. Where does that move come from?
What’s funny is George could have went to dry cleaner that does alterations and could have cover the red dot! But that would be another 50 bucks out of George’s wallet and we can’t have that.
Kramer always says something inappropriate at the wrong time.
1:28 how did he rock that cup like that without spilling anything
It didn't look like he was drinking any liquid at all.
+Christian Voss He kept it on an even plain (didn't move it up or down) when moving it, plus there wasn't much in it.
It’s empty lmao
@@dharmallars no you see Jerry pour some in 😄
Of course it's cashmere! 🤣🤣
I bet a talented tailor could do something about it. Depending on the size and location of the dot, one could conceal it with decoration like embroidery or gems.
It's a barely noticeable dot on cashmere. Putting tacky embroidery (probably using a different material) or gems would just make it worse. 40 cents gems on a $300 sweater just makes it look like a 50 dollar sweater. Some people wouldn't mind but not the people buying a $300 sweater.
Or do what my dad did when my mother spilled wine on our beige carpet....dye the whole damn thing to match.

It’s not only the red dot, - it isn’t even cashmere, it’s “cazhmere”
OFF TO THE DRY CLEANER. AHAHAHA AHAHAHA LOL
I don't see the big deal. It looks comfortable and stylish, so why make a stink over a red dot? Honestly, I'm surprised the thing had such a massive markdown over a small dot.
Those dots'll getchya
Kramer keeping up with his faux pas i see lol
*Cashmeer and then they spit on our faces* 😂
where is the red dot
No smell, no tell ...scotch 😂😂😂
1 of my favorite "Seinfeld" scenes. BTW, we Floridians never wear sweaters. Don't know what they are.
I like that with most objects in the show, they never show the meaning of the red dot.
Kramer needs a cuban to go with that Hennigans... 😌
We're all crazy in some ways, at least I am.
I don’t know
Just a slight error in your video description, The Red Dot is Season 3 Episode 12 not Episode 11, just thought I'd let you know, Episode 11 of Season 3 is The Alternate Side

2:50 is this the only time the characters looked into the camera?
Vai estrear no Netflix, yessssss

The defining characteristic of Seinfeld characters is they are all as shallow as a mirror reflection.
It was no happenstance, Larry David and Jerry said when they started writing the shows they agreed there would be "no hugging"...i.e. no humanity whatsoever displayed. Jerry said over their writing office the door plack said in Latin "No Hugging".
It’s still ridiculous how some people do not notice or see how Jerry, Elaine, Kramer and George are all douchebag asshles , who while they are not “evil/bad people”, they sure as hell are not nice/good people.
@@steverogers7601 Well, they're about as nice as the common person, I think. :P How nice they are is irrelevant next to the comedy that comes out of it.
@@suicunesolsan in the context of this comment thread, how nice they are is relevant.
You’re just using comedy to move goal posts to dismiss that they genuinely are shitty people. It’s ok, my comment shouldn’t deter you from enjoying the show. You’ll be fine.
*I would had left after i gave the present*
85$ is still a lot of money
And, of course, Kramer notices the red dot immediately lol. Who else?
Every time I see this clip, I look for the red dot and can't find it. Is it really there?
