The Pietro in this show is the same actor who played Quicksilver in the Xmen movies. Fun fact: both actors were in the movie Kick Ass.
I watched Kick Ass for the first time after I had seen this series. Too funny to see them both much younger and in the same movie.

Giving away the name of a character he played in another franchise is hardly a spoiler. Plus, the Fox X-Men movies are terrible and not worth watching so… 🤷♂️

the giveaway was "i got shot like a chump in the street for no reason". the real pietro died to save people and wouldn't have been so disrespectful of that.
The creativity of this series is incredible. The way they followed the sitcom theme through generations and how it mimics Wanda awakening to her own depression. The 50-60s era were more idealistic and happy but the furtherest from reality. As the decades pass, you notice how sitcoms became more mature, with the ‘very special episodes,’ then the more cynical 90-2000s era sitcoms. Even in the kids. Children in sitcoms often would go from baby to toddler within a few episodes. The parents literally turn around and the kids grew up. Though, you notice Wanda’s kids share no traits from Vision. They’re more like Wanda and Pietro.
I agree. It was one of the most original shows ever made and an absolute joy to watch. I watched it through 8 or 10 times. It's a shame that none of the other MCU made for streaming shows were as good. Some weren't bad. None were as good as this one.
For me, it's mid-tier. The sitcom sequences aren't actually very funny and the show feels padded as a result. It really should've been six episodes rather than nine.

The rank of Captain can be obtained through the expected ways - like training at an academy and moving up the ranks through normal operations - but it can also be granted (temporarily or indefinitely) by someone with authority if they deem it appropriate. Also, anyone in command of a naval vessel technically holds the rank of Captain, and we can stretch the definition of "naval vessel" to just about any structure floating on water with two or more people on board. So, technically, if you and a friend rent a rowboat and go towing, and one of you agrees that the other is "in command" for the duration of the trip, the person in command can be called Captain.
Also, if you're giving yourself a super hero name, you can just call yourself Captain if you want to, nobody will stop you. Yes, it's true that most MCU characters currently called "Captain" earned it one way or another, but that's not a hard rule. If someone who isn't an actual captain uses that rank in their pseudonym, they won't get in trouble for it, it just means that anyone with an active military rank can choose whether or not they consider the title to be valid.

the actor that played Pietro here is also the one that played the same character for the Xmen movies..yes, it is their comic-accurate looks..
episode 8 is one of the best episodes in all of MCU show..
You can also be a captain by
- being an airline pilot
- being a major domo at a fancy restaurant or...
-being a mascot for a rum or breakfast cereal brand
....also stuff like the police, correctional departments, etc typically have Captain as a rank.
Also in the Salvation Army.
"Scarlet Witch"
There's a thing that will come into play towards the end of this series, but the reason that Wanda isn't called the Scarlet Witch in this episode, nor wasn't in any previous movies, is because they weren't allowed to. 20th Century Fox had licensed the film rights to the X-Men and mutants. That's why Wanda and Pietro (who is never referred to as Quicksilver for the same reason) had their origin stories drastically changed. In the comics, they're both children of Magneto, their powers have nothing to do with the Infinity Stones, and they have no initial resentment to Stark. And while they are very occasionally part of the Avengers, it's not often.
All of which is to say that you're right - she does go by Scarlet Witch. But Marvel wasn't allowed to say that on film.

Actually, in the comics they’re no longer the children of Magneto nor mutants. That has been rewritten to be a sort of ruse used by Magneto to control them.

Episode five has the best theme tune. They were really spot on getting a 90s vibe from it. They did it with the 80s as well.
You can be a Captain in the military or police or fire department. But you can own a plane or boat and be the Captain too.
However, I think it needs to be a relatively large boat, not some little 2 seater power boat or some such.
You need to go back and watch the post credit scenes
On think i dislike about Disney+ era Marvel TV - they spend 2/3 of the season getting you used to NOT having a post-credit scene, and then they randomly throw one in.

The episode 4 house is based on the Family Ties house. A lot of people are saying Growing Pains, but that's just the whole music swelling as a lesson is learned part, the physicality of the house is the Keatons' house from Family Ties. The Seavers' house is a bit different.

Sooooo .... when Marvel sold the movie rights to the X-Men to Fox, Wanda and Pietro were a grey area because they were Avengers characters but they had DEBUTED in an X-Men issue. Both studios wanted them so Marvel and Fox struck a deal. Both used Pietro -- Quicksilver -- in 2015 (Age of Ultron and Days of Future Past) but Marvel killed off THEIR Pietro for Fox to keep using theirs without confusion, and they got to keep Wanda/Scarlet Witch, who was the more important Avengers character.
Then Disney, which owned Marvel Studios, bought Fox, which had the film rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four. So Marvel now has all their characters' film rights back. So we get this huge meta reference, the Fox Studios Quicksilver playing a false version of the Marvel Studios Quicksilver.
And the entire internet at the time lost their collective mind.
Just an early heads up, when you get to Loki...watch with the subtitles on. Particularly episode 6.
Hi Cristy!😊 Wanda's brother here is the same actor that plays Peter (Pietro) Maximoff in the X-Men universe where he is a speedster too.😉 It looks like episode 5 was in the style of the 80s-90s TV sitcom "Growing Pains". Episode 6 is the "Malcolm in the Middle" intro circa 2000-2006. Episode 7 is in the style of "Modern Family" which ran from 2009-2020. Great reactions to another set of well made WandaVision episodes, Cristy!!!!🎬👏👏👏👏

Captain is an officer’s rank. She rose through the officer ranks to Captain.
Your best bet would be to buy a boat.
In fairness, Captain is a fairly low officer rank, assuming Army/Air Force/Marine/Space Corps style ranks.
@@KthulhuXxx Be that as it may, in the US Captains can lead a Company of around 100. This is plenty of training and capability to command a team.
That still requires recruitment and training. My advice to buy a boat to become a Captain was for the quickest route that won’t involve a career change. :-)

Hello 👋🏻. I know someone told you could see this now but, you should’ve seen the X Men movies before this. The guy that shows up at the end of ep 5 Pietro is supposed to be a character from the X Men universe another version of Quicksiver play by a different actor from the MCU character.

If you don't enjoy the sitcom elements for themselves, the show feels slow at first. If you do, you'll find this is one of the best paced shows ever; definitely one of its strengths.
You may find you like it better a second time, where you can appreciate all the details without spending so much time trying to figure out what is happening.
I don't mind if Cristy "gets" something or not, because she's such a pleasure to watch! Bring on more weird shit! 😂

This is string of episodes is where this show hit its peak. The first few were okay, the last couple were honestly pretty bad, IMO. But episodes 5, 6 and 7 were some of the best of any MCU show to date
You should think about watching Two Broke Girls. That's a fantastic show that stars Kat Dennings the actress who plays Darcey in the MCU.
That show sucks so bad. Annoyingly cringe with awful writing and even more annoying characters.
These were incredible episodes and beautiful tributes to all of TV. So, so, so incredible, and then they tossed Evan Peters at our brains.

Not understanding the first 4 episodes and a slow start is 2 different things but its a great show one of the best just wait till u get to loki or guardians of the galaxy christmas special or werewolf by night their top quality too me

Wanda "got dark" when her twin brother died, in Age of Ultron. Remember what she said to Ultron when she finished him? She got exquisitely dark when she confronted Thanos in Endgame. [I'm sorry, but if you're watching reactions to this series and you haven't watched Endgame, what kind of person are you? Certainly not a "True Believer" as Stan would often call readers in the narrative of the comics.]
14:29-14:45 The outfit Wanda is wearing is that of "The Scarlet Witch" in the comics. But this name was not applied to her in the MCU, due to some rights being still held by other companies. This is why Pietro was only ever known in the MCU as Pietro, not his X-Men Universe (owned I believe by Sony at this point) name of Quicksilver. And yes, that's pretty much what Vision looks like in the comics. (and later the costume Pietro shows up in is pretty much how Quicksilver appears in the comics as well)
Around 18:00-19:00 You already referenced "NPCs" from a gaming context. You know, those characters that exist for whatever purpose, that don't do anything unless the Player is around? Vision is becoming a "self-aware" NPC. He's not a player character, but he's becoming aware. The people near the outside edge basically are doing nothing until a Player Character shows up. It appears that Vision can temporarily "awaken" an NPC and interact with them, but then they revert back to regular "idle NPC"

In _my_ interpretation of "why are things glitching back" at this point would be simple.
Wanda had a nice, stable world going on here, where she had control. Vision went outside the boundary, which would destroy him, and she would lose him again. To save him, the area expanded, which would now be taxing her ability to maintain complete control. The comment by Pietro prior to "dead husband can't die again" and Geraldine (Rambaeu)'s intrusion, and the twins remembering Pietro talking about "re-killing dad" would have a serious impact on a hurt psyche that has built a world around its own wants. Control was already slipping since the time Rambaeu was evicted
29:50-30:00 "Does she have some sort of powers in there?"
She was "re-written" every time she went through the barrier. Once in, became Geraldine. Once out, became Rambaeu again, but with all her knowledge of inside. She was warned about going back in because of this. She re-entered, she was re-written again. Re-roll the genetic dice 3 times, surely something is going to be different.
30:45-30:50 Vision remembers he can fly and phase through solid matter.

In my opinion, many people totally misinterpreted the "Agatha All Along" sequence. I don't think it's a reveal for us (the viewers) that she's the source of what's happening. It's WANDA thinking it has been Agatha messing with her. That's why it's presented in the style of the show that Wanda is creating. By the end of the series, it's quite clear Agatha is basically the source of almost nothing that is happening.
She is the source of everything we see during the song. She sent Pietro, she killed Sparky, etc...
@@havok6280 Yes, but those are relatively minor tweaks she was responsible for. Overall, she has very little to do with what is happening. She is observing and waiting for her chance. The song implies a much bigger role, and I believe it’s because Wanda thinks that (incorrectly).

It's a reaction channel. Her job is to externalize her internal monologue for our entertainment. Relax about it.
@@every-ist6222 I wouldn’t worry so much if she didn’t keep complaining how confused and how she doesn’t understand anything every 5 seconds. And then she talks about how “weird” it is and how she’s so confused and because it’s so “weird” she doesn’t like it as much as other things in the show. Her lack of comprehension directly affects the enjoyability of the reaction.
@@jimlight5137 I can't make you enjoy the video, but I saw the same reaction you did and you're way exaggerating how much she expressed confusion. In any case, I think Cristy's honesty and lack of pretense is a big part of her channel's appeal -- I'd rather she be open about her impressions so we can follow her confusion to its resolution rather than hide it away
