@@John_Locke_108 Correct. The 4th episode gives you some backstory up to the end of WV episode 3, and the rest will be explained by the end of the series. But this series was released before Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness and leads into that movie, so if you've already seen that (as you said you did), you must have been very confused by her 2 sons (who first appeared in WandaVision) and her desire to see them again. @@Historian212 Nah, Multiverse of Madness was great and incredibly underrated. Raimi finally gave us an actually unique take on a Marvel movie. The style, all the nods to Raimi's other works and horror in general, the breakneck pacing, the insane cameos. The culmination of Wanda and Strange's character arcs so far, it was all so good.
No you had the right reaction like me. I know Wanda and Vision from the Avengers movies but after the second episode I couldn’t continue not because it was bad but I couldn’t see where it was going. Fast forward to Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness!Once I heard a reference to Wanda and “what happened in Westview.”,I paused the film and started WandaVision again! It’s now my second favorite show after all of Stranger Things! I promise you gentlemen will love this journey!
So, if no one has said it yet, this is a series that is best watched after "End Game" and before "Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness." Just keep watching and it all will make some sort of sense. Most things in the Marvel Universe tends to just flow and you really don't want to get too far out of order, or--CONFUSION! Great reaction for the first three episodes!
I can’t believe the two more involved Marvel fans let you watch Multiverse of Madness before this! This series adds so much meaning to that movie. It’s fun to do your reactions to this regardless, of course. ^_^
I agree, Wandavision before Multiverse of Madness and Loki before Quantumania would have made more sense. Now you may end up spending time trying to connect dots between movies and may lose focus on some of the content presented in the shows.
yeah, seems like a very stupid thing to do, especially having you reference things from madness that basically has you working in reverse and not getting the full effect they should have had in Madness 😋 ... if they even would have 😉
I consider Wandavision and The Mandalorian season 1 and 2 the golden era of Disney plus shows. The debates and theories these shows generated back then omg, it was so fun. I also find the first episode to be very unsettling and I love it, probably not a popular opinion lol
Yes. We were as confused as you guys, like totally lost. We got 3 episodes released, then weekly episodes and the internet exploded with theories and crazy ideas. Be patient, this show is really good. Wandavision and Loki are the best in my opinion.
The best Disney plus series today. Love how each week it kepts us guessing on who was in charge of Westview and who was going to pop out next. Excited for you guys to enjoy it
This is probably the best of all the Marvel Disney+ shows. It starts out leaving you confused but slowly unfolds over the next few episodes and is just really brilliant.
This is a show that by episode three I was ready to give it up. I told myself by the end of episode three is I wasn't hooked, I would not watch anymore. But the end of episode three intrigued me to watched the fourth episode and boy I am glad I did. This ended up being one of my favorite shows. Can't wait to see your guys reaction!
I had EXACTLY the same journey. After the first 2 episodes I was ready to bail. Halfway through episode 3 I was all but resigned to giving up on the show. Then at about the midpoint it got interesting and by the end I was intrigued enough to watch episode 4 and never looked back.
Bros....the theories that sprung during this shows run were out of this world and amazing. What a time it was. It was the watercooler work talk every week.
No spoilers- all I will say is that everything will be revealed, trust me! I feel like you might have already gotten some of the answers since you've seen some shows that came after this (but maybe they didn't make sense to you at the time), so you might pick up on some things before those of us who saw this when it first came out. The structure of this series is absolutely brilliant and one of those things that you will appreciate more as you get to the end and see how it plays out. Can't wait to re-watch along with you!
44:20 Its hard to catch, but if you look closely at the Stark toaster in the 1st episode, the light on it starts blinking in red. The sound of the tone that it makes when it beeps has importance in a later episode.
When this was premiering, i was living with a friend during our college COVID year. And every Friday night, the new epsidoe would drop and we would stop all school work and watch the episode together. When I tell you we would pause the episode and get like 2 invhes from the screen to analyze any potential clues or easter eggs. It was a good stress relief. We would look up all articles wrotten about the week's episode and put in our own theories that never ended up panning out funnily enough.
The sitcom episodes tickled me, since I grew up watching TV starting in the 60s. It was fun figuring out what shows were represented in each episode! And the fact that it was on weekly, prr-streaming-binge style, added to the ambiance. 🙂
Oh Man! When this show came out the discourse on the internet was huge, the fan theories, finding secrets, the overall mystery of why what's happening is happening. One of the best Marvel TV Shows, absolutely fantastic. So glad you guys are covering this And yes! Multiple references to different TV series.
I’m like Oak, I love the MCU movies but haven’t watched all the series and stuff, but I did watch this series. Yes, we were all as confused as you were in the beginning of the series. By now you may have watched the whole thing and know what’s coming, if not you soon will and all will make sense. This came before Multiverse of Madness and you will actually understand the movie much better once you have finished this. Great reaction guys!!
I'm so glad this reaction just came across my feed! I've been itching to re-watch Wandavision, but getting to see it through you guys's eyes as you see it for the first time is so fun
I don't know if you caught it but the 2nd episode was meant to be 60's style since she's wearing the pants. And I think it was very reminiscent of Bewtiched. Also the other commercials (episode 2 and 3) talk about Hydra, so that's the Marvel reference you're looking for
44:28 each of the commercials had references to the MCU: Stark toaster, Strucker watch (the villain at the start of Age of Ultron who experimented on Wanda & Pietro with the Mind Stone), and Hydra Soak soap (Hydra being the villains of the first two Captain America movies).
OMG I'm so excited for this!!!!! I'm stuck at work till 5 but I'm going to get some good dinner and save it for after work. You're 4 of the greatest influences of the past couple years of my life. I'm just glad you guys are around. Thanks -Trey from Ashland Virginia USA.
In general, Marvel anything can be confusing if you have not watched everything in order leading up to it because they just take for granted that you've seen all of it and they don't take the time to explain anything. It's actually one of the things I love about them because of reading so many series that usually start a "previously on" type explaining. That being said, I think everyone was as confused as you were after the first 3 episodes and I think they were made that way on purpose. It will all be explained later. Just for FYI - E1: Dick Van Dyke Show (50's) E2: Bewitched (60's) E3: The Brady Bunch (70's)
My favorite of the MCU shows tbh. So damn good. Each ep moves up by a decade. And everything from visuals to music to performances nailed it perfectly. Ep 1, 50s, has that I Love Lucy/Dick Van Dyke Show vibe. They had Van Dyke as a consultant on making a show in that era. Ep 2, 60s, harder to spot but it spoofs on Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie. Both of those shows feature magical wives that have to keep their powers hidden and started in black and white but transitioned into color in later seasons. They had a live studio audience for those first two eps, rather than a laugh track. Then Ep 3, 70s, leaps into Brady Bunch, as you noticed. Ep 4 pops OFF. Very excited for you guys! There won't be any end credits scenes until the last 3 eps, so you don't have to worry about it til then.
Awww I’m so glad you are watching these! This is by far my favourite Marvel shows, I constantly go back and watch it from time to time. I won’t spoil anything for you both, but it starts explaining a lot from episode 4 onwards. I really love this series, Wanda has always been my favourite character out of the MCU. I’m so glad I get to watch you both watching this. 🤭
This show was such a trip when you had to wait a week for each episode. So many questions, so few answers, and what answers you got just raised more questions. It was a brilliant piece of storytelling and absolutely captivating. Speculation ran wild and crazy fan theories popped up everywhere as we all tried to make sense of what was happening. Those of us who knew comics were still confused as it could have been any number of potential storylines.
You nailed "The Dick Van Dyke Show..." Also, the last song was because Marcia Brady was obsessed with Davy Jones on The Brady Bunch and she was thrown right out of that Brady-like house and that era.
Watched this series so many times and it never gets old ❤ keep watching it gets good. Also even with knowing the whole back story, it’s still super confusing the very first time watching WandaVision but it all comes together
Would say most of us were utterly baffled, at least as far as what was actually happening. Those of us who had been watching the MCU since the very beginning were of course drawing all kinds of connections between happenings in the show and things we had seen in previous movies, but by this point it was all just guesswork. The show by this point had been a slow burn, and we knew Wanda and Vision, but it was just a great mystery; everyone I knew at the time was delighted by how confused we were.
One of the best shows I've ever seen. It's up there for me in execution and how clever it was presented. So good! I'm enjoying watching this back with you guys. Wish I could binge all the episodes! Haha cant wait for the next one.
Not gonna lie, one of my fav parts of this channel is exposing Oak to nerd culture, with sci fi, fantasy, animation and so on. He seems like a guy that life taught to be tough, but still has that inner child that's digging all this, maybe it was becoming a dad that did it. So when there's a nerdy/kid show like this and he's not in it's a bummer, so series like these are awesome! It'll be interesting to navigate this without The Answer to help with confusions lol. (I will say, if you both think about it, it's funny what this channel did to you both when you consider that you've given things like Avatar, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and etc time and attention before a marvel series about fighting powers and weapons )
9:59 This dialogue "Patience, Arthur. They're setting up their story, let them tell it" was a bit of fourth wall break, basically the writers requesting patience for the audience
There's Avenger/MCU references in each episode. The Hydra blue soap is from the TV series Agents of SHIELD. You just have to go back and look. Some of it is comicbook Marvel stuff.
9:49 In case nobody has brought it up yet, keep in mind Wandavision takes place before Multiverse of Madness. Idk what you remember from that movie but some things from this show are kinda spoiled in it.
one thing i read about....for any scene where they "stayed" in the moment, they used special effect fo that era...so in the scene in the first episode with wanda in the kitchen...it was all wireworks and practical effects
Am late but I loved this series. Like you when I first saw this I was so confused at first, but the little hints in every episode really were cool. When the screen enlarged I was super hyped, its obvious something is wrong and I was super excited to see more!
That is, indeed, a play on the Dick Van Dyke Show (including sets); Ep.2 is a Bewitched riff (the beds coming together symbolizing that Bewitched was the first American sitcom wherein the couple slept in the same bed; Dottie is played by the same actress that played Anya in Buffy: the Vampire Slayer series; Bewitched debuted in 1964, and went to color starting in the Season 3 (thus the change); Ep 3 includes the clasic trope of pregnant actors trying all kinds of silly ways for their characters to do in order to "conceal" the actors' bumps;
The commercials are the Easter Eggs: Stark Toaster Oven-the toaster was beeping. Kinda like a Stark missile Wanda and Pietro described in Age of Ultron. Strucker Watch- Baron Strucker was the Hydra guy at the beginning of Age of Ultron. He experimented on the Maximoffs. Hydra Soak Soap-Hydra being the organization Pietro and Wanda volunteered with, and ultimately experimented on by.
This is what I was hoping the Marvel shows would be. Taking chances, pushing the boundaries, seeing what they can get away with. Use the movies as the big mainstream money makers, use the shows to "safely" experiment with the Marvel formula. Then this is the only one that does anything close to that.
"Then this is the only one that does anything close to that." That's not true. Werewolf By Night, Loki, Moon Knight etc.... would like to have a word with you.
@@JohnGraves1985 Werewolf By Night came out after I was pretty much done with Marvel, and I didn't know it was even a marvel thing until weeks after it came out, so I never saw it. Loki is VERY Marvel... just cause it doesn't have a big fight at the end doesn't mean it isn't. Moon Knight is also pretty Marvel, just has an interesting hook that sets it apart.
Pay close attention to the ads in the show, some are Hydra, the organization that infiltrated Shields ( remember The Winter Soldier film) . Those are Easter Eggs and a connection to _Agents of Shield_ if I'm not mistaken and also represent Wanda's mental suffering.
This was before the multiverse of madness! basically the setup for it. fun fact: this was filmed in color, which clothes that would look best in black and white, also it was *actually* filmed before a live audience! it was right before covid.
This was definitely a series where comic book readers had an advantage going in, already knowing some of the general plot. I thought the series was brilliant, thanks for reacting!
Was so proud of you for recognizing *The Dick Van Dyke Show* influence (which most seem to miss), and then you go and mention *The Jetsons.* Back on track with *The Brady Bunch,* though.
Also super important. A few of the later episodes DO have after credit scenes, so check for them every time, some of them become integral to the next episode. I missed them during my first time watching.
wandavision, loki and moon knight are the best tv series from marvel imo, looking forward to your reactions for the remaining episodes! i got so excited when this video popped up on my home page
By far possibly the greatest MCU project. I honestly struggled to watch any other new MCU projects after this one because it was just so by and large incredibly done.
I thought at first that the toaster bit with it able to cook open face sandwiches, etc. was just a joke, but it you really look close it has a BIG bottom drawer so that it could act as a small broiler! It was like a compact version of a toaster oven. My grandmother had something like it but with only the drawer. It was great for grilled cheese sandwiches! I wish I still had it... I think they even mention something about dual compartments in the advertisement. Did you happen to notice that the light on the toaster was blinking RED in a black and white show???
6:53 legit deadass was taking a burnt toast from my toaster when that commercial said that 🤦🏻♀️ thank god i don't have a husband, I'd be a terrible wife according to the 50s 🤣🤣🤣
I'm actually glad I watched this show how I did. I didn't have Disney+ when it was coming out, so I heard about bits and pieces of the plot through social media. I only started watching it after it was fully out, and by then, I knew going in the broad strokes of what was going on with the sitcom, though most of the details weren't spoiled for me. So I felt like I was able to just sit back and enjoy the sitcom aspect and appreciate the details and shout-outs and foreshadowing without constantly being distracted by wondering WHAT is going on.

I'M SO EXCITED! I love that you are reacting to this. This is the best Marvel Disney+ show!
Now you may end up spending time trying to connect dots between movies and may lose focus on some of the content presented in the shows.
yeah I feel like straight jumping into Multiverse of Madness would be really confusing as to why Wanda is all of a sudden evil.
yeah, seems like a very stupid thing to do, especially having you reference things from madness that basically has you working in reverse and not getting the full effect they should have had in Madness 😋 ... if they even would have 😉
I consider Wandavision and The Mandalorian season 1 and 2 the golden era of Disney plus shows. The debates and theories these shows generated back then omg, it was so fun.
I also find the first episode to be very unsettling and I love it, probably not a popular opinion lol
So glad you’re reacting to this! There are post credit scenes in episodes 7,8,9 I believe. So don’t miss those!
Dont worry, everyone was confused until the story is slowly revealed. You guys are doing great.
Love that you guys are starting the shows! This and Loki are top tier of the shows.
This is my favorite thing Marvel has ever made. It’s that good to me. I got Wanda’s crown tattooed on my forearm, it meant that much to me
This is a show that by episode three I was ready to give it up.
So stoked y'all are reacting to this. This really kicked off the post endgame vibes. I think by the end of the series you're going to love it.
WandaVision is hands-down my favorite of the Marvel Shows. Can't wait to see you try to figure out the mystery as it unfolds!
To let you know, all episodes are an amalgamation of every family sitcom of each decade starting from the 1950's.
So glad you guys are covering this
And yes!
7:11 Top & Bottom, those Toasters had a drawer on the bottom to slide stuff like pie inside.
I'm so glad this reaction just came across my feed! I've been itching to re-watch Wandavision, but getting to see it through you guys's eyes as you see it for the first time is so fun
Ahhh I love your guys' confusion. Imagine being this confused when it debuted. You're one of us now lol
🤜🤛
I hope you guys realize how much you do for us all... even on my worst days when I feel depressed, I'm over stimulated, or just not feeling it, you're uploads just turn it all around.
Just for FYI -
E1: Dick Van Dyke Show (50's)
E2: Bewitched (60's)
E3: The Brady Bunch (70's)
8:37 Arnie: “If you don’t scrub the kitchen flooooor, you ain’t gonna rack and roooll no mooore!” 😂
There won't be any end credits scenes until the last 3 eps, so you don't have to worry about it til then.
this is by far the best Marvel series ! glad to see new people watching it
Awww I’m so glad you are watching these! 🤭
Try having to wait week to week talking about confusing!! Lol!! I was glad i choose to watch them all again once they were all out!! Love you guys!!
I'm so excited that you guys are doing this show. It's definitely one of my favorites and such a creative form of Storytelling.
this is the best MCU series imo!! I was soooo confused at first but it gets sooo good!!
Oh man, this series is great. Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are fantastic, and the last third of episodes get real heavy and meaty.
literally such a good show
wanda is my absolute favorite character
OH MY GOSH how did I miss this??? This is the best marvel production I think I have in recent memory. It’s so special to my heart
This show is just phenomenal even on rewatches. Best thing to come out of Marvel in awhile
Loki are the great show but this, Wandavision is still my favorite mcu show until this day. Hope you two enjoy mcu shows cant wait to see more~
Not gonna lie, one of my fav parts of this channel is exposing Oak to nerd culture, with sci fi, fantasy, animation and so on.
This is such an interesting show and I'm so glad y'all are getting into it!
Did Mason just say he hasn't seen step brothers!?!? HE MUST WATCH IT!!
Quinn after the first episode: alright, maybe well get an answer here.
Me: laughing hysterically.🤣🤣🤣
We were confused as much as you guys are when we first saw the first 3 episodes even we were hard-core fans. This is my favorite marvel Disney + show
9:59 This dialogue "Patience, Arthur.
OMG I’m so happy you’re watching this!! This is definitely my one of my fave series ever. It’s so good
My absolute favorite MCU project. There’s so much depth.
ive been waiting so long! :D excited to see yall's reactions
9:49
In case nobody has brought it up yet, keep in mind Wandavision takes place before Multiverse of Madness. Idk what you remember from that movie but some things from this show are kinda spoiled in it.
my favorite marvel show ❤ great to venture it with you guys!
one thing i read about....for any scene where they "stayed" in the moment, they used special effect fo that era...so in the scene in the first episode with wanda in the kitchen...it was all wireworks and practical effects
ive been hoping for you guys to watch this show... its so good
Am late but I loved this series. Like you when I first saw this I was so confused at first, but the little hints in every episode really were cool. When the screen enlarged I was super hyped, its obvious something is wrong and I was super excited to see more!
So excited you guys are reacting to WandaVision. It’s an amazing show!
That is, indeed, a play on the Dick Van Dyke Show (including sets); Ep.2 is a Bewitched riff (the beds coming together symbolizing that Bewitched was the first American sitcom wherein the couple slept in the same bed; Dottie is played by the same actress that played Anya in Buffy: the Vampire Slayer series; Bewitched debuted in 1964, and went to color starting in the Season 3 (thus the change); Ep 3 includes the clasic trope of pregnant actors trying all kinds of silly ways for their characters to do in order to "conceal" the actors' bumps;
This show was so unique, the sitcom theme is so awesome, the ending is awesome too!
The commercials are the Easter Eggs:
Stark Toaster Oven-the toaster was beeping.
Yesss!! This is my favorite marvel tv show of all time!!
One of the best things Marvel has ever done. AMAZING SERIES ! great reaction
This is one of my favourites Marvel's shows
This is what I was hoping the Marvel shows would be. Taking chances, pushing the boundaries, seeing what they can get away with. Use the movies as the big mainstream money makers, use the shows to "safely" experiment with the Marvel formula.
Then this is the only one that does anything close to that.
"Then this is the only one that does anything close to that."
That's not true.
I absolutely loved this reaction - the oak said the same things i thought while watching the show the first time through 😂😂😂
This was definitely a series where comic book readers had an advantage going in, already knowing some of the general plot. I thought the series was brilliant, thanks for reacting!
Man, I love your guys content. Consistent home runs your videos are
Was so proud of you for recognizing *The Dick Van Dyke Show* influence (which most seem to miss), and then you go and mention *The Jetsons.*
Back on track with *The Brady Bunch,* though.
Also super important. A few of the later episodes DO have after credit scenes, so check for them every time, some of them become integral to the next episode. I missed them during my first time watching.
yesss thank you for reaction on this series. Amazing you got the first show name right. Kudos
they went from 50s to 60s to 70s in the first 3 episodes
wandavision, loki and moon knight are the best tv series from marvel imo, looking forward to your reactions for the remaining episodes! i got so excited when this video popped up on my home page
Those are my 3 favorite too :)
