Pre-'78, all we ever had was bags. Both seed & fertilizer. We'd make a pile, toss a rock on 'em, continue planting, and lo & behold, they'd be burning upon return. Must have been one of those freak "lightning strikes" on a sunny day.
Always amazes me how many acres these large planters are capable of covering in a day. Light years different than our 4 row narrow planter and 20x7 drill. Despite regular rock-picking, seems like more magically appear. Sure don't need to trash a piece of high $$$ machinery when encountering one during field operations.
Well farming pre78’ I remember open station tractors or tractor with no cabs and windows open dust swirling around planting loading planter with bags getting out every few rounds checking boxes digging in the field and making sure planter was planting. Filling up grain drills with bags lots of bags.
Worked on a farm as a kid in the 70s but I’m a city boy and omg the tech is amazing. Farm boys are supposed to be dumb, this is blowing the hell out of that idea. This is the coolest stuff ever. That Fendt tractor (I hope I spelled it right) first looks badass and it turns out it is badass. I drove a ‘massy’ on the farm as a kid and I understand they are brothers. Oh, I run a software company and I look at that equipment and farming is now a leader in sophisticated self-managing and guidance software, the only thing I know ahead is aviation. This guy could fly a 747! I’m not saying it’s not still hard work but in the 70s your back was your most important tool, today it’s clearly your brain. For Memorial Day my profile picture is my uncle Charles who died in the Arden forest in the cold and buried in France during WW2. From d-day on the beach day 1 to the battle of the bulge he fought with his band of brothers. Peace to Charles and every farming family that suffered the same, farmers send their sons at a higher rate then any other segment of our population. Thank you.
Thanks for another great video Brian. It was really interesting and informative and enjoyable. Thanks for talking about your Sunday sponsorship. Sounds like a real good product and easy to apply. Doing great on putting Your seed corn in the ground Brian. That Massey planter has done an excellent job for you this year. No big breakdowns which is nice this year. Hang in there Brian. You have definitely been on the go with corn planting this year. Soybeans next i suppose but I think I remember you saying you had done some already. About it I guess. You all take care and be safe. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Absolutely love the camera work that's some of the best I've seen What a perfect you mix of Heavy metal rock and farming it goes good together I liked it you probably Wasn't even born in 1978
12:55 My FIL had one of those moments a few weeks ago. He had just finished running sweeps and had a hose blow out on the tractor as he was about to exit the field.
Great video Brian . 👍🏻 . Level fields look awesome . Loved ploughing and tilling fields for my father when I was a young lad with a two board plough and a Tvo Ferguson 20 🤗
Suspect that something he’s going to keep between himself I mean his dad brothers and power company. Lol! I really suspect he as some pull. Unless they really ticked Power Company off. Lol
Today's contribution to ongoing "improvement to Brian's algorithm" . I did click on the sponsored ink and even them look at our lawn. Keeping on watching. 8:48 *QUESTION for Brian* : Brian, Sir, Have you done a video showing the planning of the planting season ? I watch till the end. Waiting the next publication. End of comment.
I would love to use your sponsor but it already takes me 4 plus hours to mow and another hour or so worth of trimming. If it grew any better it would take me even longer and that's out of the question. I already work 60 plus hours delivering fuel. Really enjoy your videos. Would you be coming over to Belleville Illinois for the 100 years of horsepower in August at the Renner Stock Farm?
I 've used Sunday products for three years. I have two female Chocolate Labs and I don't want them running on any chemicals that may harm them. My lawn looks beautiful. I highly recommend the product. Female dog urine during the Winter months kills dormant grass. In the late Fall I liberally apply Sunday Pet Patch that pretty much eliminates brown spots from the urine in the Spring.
Surprised to hear you say gov juice will freeze. Being it's made out of fertilizer base it shouldn't and beings it's left in all our tractors an combine without any troubles I don't know what to think.
In all equipment it is actually pumped back into the takes after the key is shut off and when frozen it doesn’t pump till thawed. I believe it great 20 degrees
The pollination would only affect the seed for the next generation. The hybrid will yield what it's bred for F1. The seed companies use hand pollination to get the hybrids they sell.

Pulling the threads is old school farming asmr.
Best ever
It's too easy to drop something into the hopper. An errant piece of paper can cause a lot of problems in a high speed planter.
Farmers do whatever we do to get crop in ground
If pulling strings on bags gets it done then ya do it

behind every good man is a wife whispering🤣🤣🤣🤣🤫🤫🤭🤭🤭😍😍😍
👍🏻😂😂😂😂
At least we're getting rain this year
There was just something satisfying about hearing the tip the string would make
I’ll wave as I pass by tomorrow morning👋🏼
Grandpa planted his grass with a tractor and planter when he built his house
Old school intro. Nice!!!
They need Totes of Sunday for the corn top dressing fertilizer. 4:51 😁
1978 was a great year to farm.
I was 12

Great lawn for the kids.
Wendy’s fries are on your “Factor” menu? Cool!

Tractors with cabs and no air conditioning
They had them but not everyone ordered them
with AC
I remember with the JD 7000 planters came out and revolutionized planters
One more thing I don’t think in 70’s or even 80’s we had gps in auto steer
I sure hope you can get everything planted. Rain is a necessity, but I know you need a break.
Pioneer brand! That's who we had growing up.
I can smell the cab of the Fendt through my tv, that’s disgusting!
Great Video Brian, you guys are sure getting through the acres with the gear you have this season, thanks for sharing

I agree I thought it was really good also. Good work!
Born in 1990
Great video Brian. Thank you guys
You must like mowing more than us, no way I’d try to make my grass grow more. 😂
Use liquid starter on the lawn. I spilled some 3 years ago and still green.
G’job Brown family, as always. Y’all take care and keep em comin🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸
Thank you easy watching . There was no bleeping etc. Very good watch God bless

Looks like you are filling that new building up 😂
👍 thanks

See if Sunday wants to supply top dressing -CORN is a Grass!! 😊 Need totrs for the Sprayer, and maybe with side drops hoses. 13:46
Enjoy your videos.
Thank you!
Good stuff
How much did the power pole end up costing you 😂 ??
Suspect that something he’s going to keep between himself I mean his dad brothers and power company. Lol! I really suspect he as some pull. Unless they really ticked Power Company off. Lol
I had a driver hit one years back. 5000 dollars
@@guyreasa9467 wow thats crazy . Thanks have a good one.
How do you know Sunday works? First time you have used it! - lol
Great video
Ain't it nice to drive that nice equipment into a warm dry shop plus it looks like you're feeling her up pretty quick
Have you ever thought about an epic jeep trip to Utah? July sounds like a nice cool month.
I’ll keep that in mind Trevor
You have a beautiful farm - congratulations on your new house! Love your channel -from Columbus
Thank you so much!
You were close enough to the house to stop in and let the dogs out.
That pocket in your t shirt looks as handy as sliced bread.
The hardest intro!!❤🎉😊
great video
Thanks!
Good video.
Thunderbird 2 back to Tracy Island just need the palm tree out the front Vergil 😂😂😂😊
"You Make Farming Rock"... 🙂
Looks like kids got the back window Brian ! Lol looks same as mine

Good video

*QUESTION for Brian* :
Brian, Sir, Have you done a video showing the planning of the planting season ?
I watch till the end.
Waiting the next publication.
End of comment.
In 1978 you probably only had a 12 row planter and had to fill individual boxes with seed. Tractor wasn't as big either, old JD your dad bought.
If the pretzel corn/pioneer is 113 day it’s really 118 rm!
Pioneer is a grape seed they also are the world record holder in bushels per acre
Should plant some rye . Grows fast and holds the dirt .
🥑 makes Guacamole, now you need Tortilla chips. And Salsa , mild or hot, your choice. 😊 3:08
Damn BJ get some sun on them legs me and my wife about had to put shades on 😂😂😂😂😂
Did the guy walking down the road survive? Lol
34x36 pants? Just a guess.
How did that light pole end of costing you
Try using Def " government juice"on your new grass. Much cheaper.
Pretty
👍
is that Massey planter the replacement for the white planter or are they different
I you can't afford those cool spray bags, Gummit Juice makes a fine lawn fertilizer when properly diluted.
What’s the Weight of the Massey planter?
First tomatoes now avocados 😂
What size shoe do you wear?
Your beard inspired me.
This gave me a good laugh
Do you have RTK for the GPS? If you do, where is the RTK base location?

Brian I hate to be a buzz kill but I like the old open much better than the new one!
For some reason it keeps getting copyrighted

Which brand is the terminal you have in the rear right side of the planting tractor? I can see it says 2020 on the front.
It’s a precision planting 2020
Is the siding on your house metal or wood?
Metal
How do you run the precision planting stuff through your Agleader monitor?
I’m not the agleader is for steering
Brian what depth you planting your corn and what population?
I am done planting but here in iowa I plant my corn around 2” and 33,000 population approx 6” spacing between seeds
2” between 27-38k depending on vr map. Finished corn on 5-24
@@BriansFarmingVideos 2” what I put my corn in at I finished corn on may 11th beans on April 24th
Mrs. Brown is dressed like a marshmallow!!

So is Ohio AG loosing Agco products?
They stopped selling all farm equipment
Isn't cross polination a problem with planting so close together? Seems it would give you a false value.
The pollination would only affect the seed for the next generation. The hybrid will yield what it's bred for F1. The seed companies use hand pollination to get the hybrids they sell.
BRIAN you know that bepper in your truck goes off when you put on your seatbelt lol I never wear one either
2:40 do you have a Weimaraner?
Yes
Was Mrs Brown drinking?
What is your favourite thing to eat from Wendy’s?
Mine is a baconator
She’s not much of a drinker
You will have grass but it will probably take a few years for nice lawn.
Big boy u eat more fast food than u say
No I drink more beer than I say. I don’t particularly like McDonalds or Wendy’s
