Good repair. People need to bear in mind that these are at least 40 years old. I have fitted replacement axles to GWR Manor and Moguls. Cheers Paul
Great video good bargains at that fair thank you for sharing 👍
Cheers for watching Clive
great video lots of very cheap stuff
Grt🎉
Hi Guys, Another brill video loads of bargains there. Loved the 2 gnomes, Im sure that will be Katie Price in a few years. haha
Brilliant lol 😂
The gnomes are living in our garden after being evicted from their mucky mansion
Love your garden. Do Lola and Bobby accept having the gnomes in their garden. Our garden is an English cottage garden. Bill and Janet from California
Does look like a wonderful event and love the model rail meal deal search
Cheers Simon
I had the first version of 'Game Of Britain' spent many winter evenings being stuck in Mallaig. They also did 'Game of London' where you travelled on the underground. Brutal game.
We have yet to play but you got me at brutal! 😂😂
Hello Rick and Pauline.
Some great bargains there,
Great to see Bobby and love the Garden Gnomes!
Cheers Deano!
Excellent programme as usual.Great knowledge Rick but Pauline is the treasurer and knows a lot about prices! Seriously though, love to Bobby from Max x.
Thanks Michael, I do find it is beneficial to have my accountant in tow! All the best Rick, Pauline and 🐕😸
A very enjoyable video .The railway game looks interesting . I guess Pauline doesnt like Halloween LOL
Nope and I do intend getting a Chucky!
Ps love the way you promote the stalls you visit.Seems a massive hall, lots of room to get around.Palethorpe sausage factory was only a quarter of a mile away in Tipton.Hooked up your favourite sausage wagons up at Dudley Port station,Lms and Gwr😊
Hi Michael, we like to do our bit, after all they are letting us film although we did contact the organisers beforehand. It's very rare a trader doesn't allow us to film as I'm sure they know we are harmless! I do like the Palethorpes wagons and I have several now. All the best Rick
Hi, Rick and Pauline,
That 'Super S' locomotive came in a set with a Sound Generator, not in the locomotive itself, it was a separate unit. It came out at the end of the 80's/ early 90's. I don't think it was sold separately. there was also a diesel version available.
Thanks for the info Andrew.
Like ur back yard it has a rustic look to it nice its also nice to see other items for sale as well tho the chucky dolls yup il pass
Hi Leslie glad you like our yard. Don't worry we won't add a Chucky Gnome to it!😂😂
What a fabulous show….
Thank you Derrick!
great train and toy fair lots of cool things thanks for the share on channel rick and pauline thanks lee
Thanks very much Lee
I’m always looking for model railway bargains!! The best come at model railway exhibitions, such as that at the Hoddesdon Model and Railway Club.
My other haunts are the Whitewebbs Museum of Transport and the London Model Railway Festival. I go round the layouts first and then go shopping!!
Rooting, brilliant, some bargains to be had, great video, well done you both.
Cheers Gary
I’ve played it before!! It’s one of those fun games that used to come in our caravan every holiday. And it got played every year until we sold the caravan.
Some good bargains there
Thanks Caroline, some great deals there. Cheers Rick
Great video, those first few stalls had some amazing prices!
The fictitious GWR Hall, Lord Westwood, was nothing to do with the "Lord Westwood", it was named Lord Westwood after the factory being located on the Westwood Industrial Estate. Yes the number on the tender was the main phone number for Hornby Reception, the phone number on the tank loco was also a number to the Margate Factory, but 25550 was the main one used, for many decades too.
Thanks for the info John, I might have to get the Hall to partner up with the tank loco.
Long way for a small haul
Hi Tim, it's near York Designer Outlet so mission accomplished! 😂😂
@@wellchuffedrailways My knowledge of Pauline is expanded (Garden centres + Designer outlets + Toy fairs)
Did you know that someone made a Mini into a DALEK? It was taken to the Chelsea Cruise each month. The horn actually said “EXTERMINATE”!!
That sounds fab! I will see if I can find any pics
12:15 seems like a rare find, from what I understand these are in high demand.
Even rarer in N scale, I only ever saw one in ten years of visiting fairs.
21:42 ''Inspiring'', ''she vomits on you''.
Personally I think the sight of these gnomes at the end creeps me out more than hearing Chucky in the middle of the night.
Great video again 😄
Hi Ed, yes the exorcist doll has the potential to be an extreme version of the old tiny tears dolls! 😂😂
Hello Pauline and Rick! Could I say I had the Princess Elizabeth CKD kit and made it. Also Minic Motorway set, had two issues, firstly the hand controllers overheated because you covered the air vents when you used them and when they got old the rubbers between the contacts on the track would perish. How’s Bobby and Lola ? Harry
They are both very happy as is Trevor (the cat on the fence in the video) who meets me everyday when I get home and gets some biscuits. All the best Rick
Hi Rick, some how I missed the end of your video and did not see Bobby and Lola! Is Trevor a new member of the team? .also the pack of three different colour coaches and the flat wagons are used in Europe a lot to carry Lorrie’s across the continent, the coaches are for the drivers. Harry
It was a whole series of games, which included Great Britain, France, Italy, Germany and Greece.
The price of some of the wrenn is enough to make me want to come on Holiday.
They go for so much more here in Australia.
Although, I bet those unrebuilt Spam cans were a pretty penny in any currency. 🤔
I dont think Ive ever seen one here in Oz.
The first Spam Can was £250 and I think the second was £350. They are both very rare, by comparison the black LMS Stoke on Trent Pacific at the beginning of the video was £65, that is before bartering! The prices were lost in the edit somewhere! Thanks for watching Rick
@@wellchuffedrailways oh my goodness, 65 pound. Thats such a good price.
Those spam cans might be a bit of a pipe dream for me. I could never be one of those chaps who just leave it mint on the shelf though.
Id have to run it. 🤣
The BR class 53 Falcon at 15:00 extremely rare diesel loco and you miss it. Blue livery also. Not even a comment maybe you did know what a 53 was?
Lots of things we miss because we are focusing on something else we have spotted earlier. Never seen it in blue but I'm sure we have featured The loco in green in the past. 🚂
What I’m trying to find is a rake of four Pullman cars for running with a good Southern Railway steam locomotive.
Good luck!
Gorgeous Bulleid!! I prefer spam cans to those that were rebuilt in the 50s and 60s!! But for me, it’s got to have a sound chip!!
Have to admit I prefer my Bullied's rebuilt.
I find it hard to choose between the two unlike the LMS Pacifics which I prefer without the streamlining.
@@wellchuffedrailways Now that's interesting. I reckon only a connoisseur of steam locos would make such a statement. Wat I would add it that I like the A4s far more than the streamlined Stainer's. They look - from some angles - a little unwieldy.
Stanier Pacifics are my favourite locos but A4 is a far better looking streamliner. Thanks for the content for this weekends vlog 😀😀

There's something very therapeutic about watching you two browse at a toy fair (although I confess to ffwrd-ing through the non-railway stuff!).
When I left the hobby in the 1980s, Mainline & Airfix were at the forefront of offering detailed models, and Hornby was playing catch-up. So when I came back to it a few years ago I snapped up a couple of locos from these erstwhile manufacturers, as they were at very competitive prices. I soon found out why! They may have looked better than Hornby's models at the time, but the mechanisms & motors were not built to last. So now I give them a wide birth. However, I do have a live bid on an Airfix GWR 14xx in BR lined green, late crest livery, as I want the body for a project. I find late Lima diesels good value, but prices are rising.
Keep up the good work.
Hi Stephen, yes I too was disappointed when I purchased my first Mainline steamer! I have an Airfix 14xx and it's a lovely runner so you might not be that disappointed. I took the traction tyres of mine so it struggles with bigger loads but runs so much better. Cheers Rick
@wellchuffedrailways I also have a Dapol 14xx, and replaced the tyres with Marklin items. It transformed the model's performance.
Great video guys 😊 who won the game 😊😅
Thanks David, no one yet 😂😂 but it will be in a future vlog. Cheers Rick
Very cool Toy Show, R & P. Quite a nice variety of toys seen in the background as you both walk along. I could spend a few days at such a place. Did I see you bought the "Great Game of Britain?" I love how you look at a loose model and just know what company it was produced. I could do that with certain miniatures and wargaming companies. When you go to shows, I know you look for trains, but what other things do you intend to catch a peak at? I seem to remember you like the Bond Cars, and you point of Star Wars, too. (My brother and I had all those vehicles on that table early on) Is there other stuff?
Hi Anthony, in addition to trains I love model cars and before I got back into trains I regularly bought them. I still buy them but not as often as I used to. I should do a video on them at some point. In addition to the bond cars I have quite a few 1/18 Formula 1 cars including Ayrton Senna's 1988 McLaren. We do look at a lot of other things that never make it into the videos. I really should get one of those Chucky Dolls to keep Bobby in line! We did buy the game but have yet to give it a go but thankfully it is complete. Whilst liking Star wars i never had any of the toys or figures as a kid for some reason which is strange looking back. All the best Rick
The 3 rail loco at 10:35 is Trix Twin Railway, hence TTR on the bottom. Trix twin allowed the independant control of two trains on the same track, and if you added the catenary and electric overhead loco they also did, three trains could be independantly controlled. All long before DCC! The Bachman loco at 12:15 is a model of the General Electric 44 ton switcher. The US railroads had an agreement with their unions that allowed diesel locomotives weighing less than 45 tons to be operated by one person.
Thanks for the info on the switcher I have no clue about those! We have seen Trix Twin layouts operating at shows and they are very impressive. Thanks for watching Rick
the wagon at 42:43 I ended up buying
Good choice!
I've a feeling it could go above 60 with postage
Rare liveries cost more
Is it worth it its a traing class 31 in experimental blue
Depends on the condition.
Do you have an experimental blue brush type 2 class 31 buying a bid for on e 50 pounds my bid still has 3 days left
No just a green one, I do see them at fairs but they always look a bit scruffy. I would like a nice clean one. Cheers Rick
