    I just went back and watched this particular mechanic install a starter on this same car. I have to show much appreciation to her, granted the lift makes what she does easier but man she works around a lot of stuff that I couldn't get around at all.

    She forgot to drain the overflow container before filling up the coolant. Make sure you change your old coolant from the overflow container.!

    AS an added tip, everything here was great except it didn't do the block, its fine depending on change interval and coolant condition.
    For the block as well, just run the car enough for coolant to cycle and drain then refill with distilled water (or coolant premix if you got money like that). Do that a couple times and then fill one last time (premix if you were using that, concentrated if you were using water).

      @47818 Рік тому +3

      I would advise against using distilled water for a drain & refill because the 50/50 mix that is already in the system will get further diluted. Getting that ratio back would require the entire cooling system be completely flushed. It's certainly more expensive but doing things right is worth it.

    Honda “Aporived” Type 2 is blue as of 2024. This was green. Wanted to know about the “air bleed valve” that the type 2 coolant says to open.

    After 10+ years and 100K miles, does the coolant gets "dirty" ad become a bit black, or when you drain and bleed it, the old coolant would still look green and clear? Thanks!

    Only use Honda type 2 blue coolant! Everything else was on point though 👍🏼

    I think flushing the system is worth the extra time, with distilled water. But this video's process will get most of the old coolant out.

  • @chrisbreatheslove
    @chrisbreatheslove 2 роки тому

    Do I do this same process when flushing it with distilled water? No idea what the past mechanic put in there but it’s not the manufactures recommended coolant so I gotta flush it out.

      WC my 2010 CRV just passed 100k miles and the maintenance notifier on the dash gave me the code to change coolant with my next oil change. I’ve read that the first change is around 100k miles and then every 30k after that.

    SOS for Honda Crv 2002-2006 use 5w20 (0w20 Europe) if u have 100.000 and under. If you have 100.000 up use 5w30 ( I searched every manual) i want to help for crv lovers. (Honda oil-Liquid Moly- Mobile 1- Valvoline- Elf-Total BEST BRANDS) reliable sources. And for coolant fluid use only Honda Genuine COOLANT (Type-2) OR blue coolants (Mannol, Zerex, Peak, Valvoline, Prestone)

    • @HonNey-xi4ef

      In South East Asia where the weather is all year HOT. Owners should use 5w30 instead of 0w20.

      @@alsaysamone4148 You are technically correct.You could in theory use a non OEM coolant if you could totally drain and flush the old fluid but that was not shown. The risk is that you damage your car if two non compatible coolant react with each other

    At 1:55 you failed to take your own advice. Honda coolant is like there automatic transmission fluid... Unique to Honda and the Honda brand must be used exclusively. Anyone who says differently (and there are many) does not know what they're talking about PERIOD

      Not entirely true. While I do recommend OEM Honda coolant, Valvoline Zerex Blue and Peak Blue coolant should both be perfectly safe to use. I do highly recommend only using OEM Honda Transmission fluid but honestly would feel safe using Amsoil ATF.
