Whats great about garchomp is that gabite, aside from evolving from gible at lvl 24, is probably the most usable middle stage psuedo legendary compared to the likes of shelgon and pupitar
I love Metagross. It's like the last creative pseudo TPC made type-wise (& a little design-wise). Also, still frustrating that Snorlax still can't learn Slack off.
@@JoseCasta93 no duh! I was referring to now. But despite the HUGE weakness now it's still one of my favorite dragons and Gen 5 Pokémon. People saying that the Gen 5 designs was bad when we literally had a 3 headed dragon!
First off, happy Halloween Mystic. I understand about Dragonite, and here's the thing, you could get Dratini in Celadon City Game Corner as a prize. Though...most players want to get it from the Safari Zone, but the one in the Game Corner...level up with Rare Candies, which is the cheap way, and I think quite a few players would do that. Tyrannitar...as I said in your last video...I was literally about to have it, but alas, my eyesight started to decline.
#10: I feel like the whole Milotic section doesn't take into account just how difficult it is to get one of these, especially since they're not just roaming about. You have to catch a Feebas first, one of the oddly rarest pokemon to find in the early games and still a nuisance in the modern game, and even if you do get a Feebas, pre gen 5, you had to rely on Pokeblocks to increase its beauty, level up, and then it evolves. Post gen 4, you get the Prism Scale, which sounds nice until you realize it's a trade evo. Honestly not worth it when Gyarados is right there and has far more consistency. #9: Yeah, hard agree. Lucario's only issue is that its friendship evo usually takes awhile without a Soothe Bell which acquiring one depends on the game. #8: Volcarona is a monster. Quiver Dance and Bug Buzz + Fiery Dance is a dangerous combo. Only issue is Larvesta's ridiculous evolution level: 59. 50 frickin 9 for its evolution. Still, top 10 pokemon for me, so I'll stick with it. #7: Snorlax is a mixed bag. I think it's better in the earlier games. Later on it kinda fell off since it doesn't have access to Fairy Typing. #6: Used Tyranitar in HGSS by trading level 1 Larvitar from a friend and in my recent Scarlet playthrough. Total berserker. The only weakness is Fighting which is kinda common, but luckily, that's why I invest in regional birds. #5: Mega Salamance is a menace to society. Hard agree. #4: Metagross is a powerful foe and has a great move pull. Used some in my playthroughs and just like T-Tar. Finding one within the game pre-elite 4 is difficult, though, so it gets negative points for that. Also side note, I thought Aegislash was the reason they nerfed Steel types, not Metagross, but meh. #3: Kingsgambit is a really good option in Tera Raids. Kowtow Cleave + Swords Dance = Extreme Damage. #2: Hmmm.... Mamoswine is an odd choice. My only issue is that its only two good Ice moves are Ice Fang and Ice Shard, considering it's meant to be a physical attacker. Sigh, we need more physical Ice Moves. #1: Yeah there's a reason why Cynthia is one of if not the best Champion. It's because her ace is this monstrosity.
Fun fact: from a strictly offensive perspective, Ice/Ground is only resisted by Bug/Water and Bug/Ice. Every other type combination can be hit for at least neutral damage. You can reduce that to just Bug/Ice if you have Freeze Dry, though that's probably not the best choice for Mamoswine.
I ended up running Milotic AND Salamence on my playthrough team for Omega Ruby. Half of my team for this playthrough were Pokémon you get early on and commonly see on people’s Hoenn teams (Starter, Aggron, Manectric). The other half were Pokémon you get later on in the game and are ones you don’t commonly see on people’s Hoenn teams (Froslass, Milotic, and Salamence).
Of the ones shown, I feel Milotic is the most surprising to see here, at least a little. That's considering how difficult and tricky it can be to obtain Feebas in the first place.
Milotic has been one of my favorite water pokemon. Even though he is the source of one of my most frustrating experiences with pokemon. All that time as a kid, searching for a feebas, reading gamefaqs, searching the routes, checking different water tiles. Too finally catch a feebas, only to find out that I need to feed the damn thing certain puffins. And, I messed it up because apparently you can do that. Never got to use a milotic until gen 8 dropped one in the wild for the hell of it. Thank you Gamefreak. 😂
Remember.... "Communication with the other Trainer was interrupted" *Denethor from Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, on fire, screaming and then running off Mt. Gondor*
Yeah I’m very grateful for Pokémon Home making it so easy for me to do things like starting my current Shield play through with a lvl 1 Dreepy and Larvesta. Larvesta has done very well the whole time, and Volcarona is probably my current ace
I would also add Aerodactyl do the list. You get it around your 6th badge in Kanto which is quite late considering it's part flying type and by that point of the game you should already have a solid flyer but let me tell you this monster wrecks everything on it's way. I've used it in my first LGPE playtrough and it was my mega slot as well. If you guys have never used it I strongly reccomend giving it a shot
Mamo had been a staple in my ingame playthrus, throughout multiple games, in many generations, having stab ground and ice and beinf resistant to both hail and sandstorms, make it a viable mon for sure
Also in Gen 9 from what I understand Ice types got a buff of get a 50% buff in physical defense, similar to how rock types like T-Tar get a 50% buff in special defense, which helps Mamo nicely in addition if you chose to use its Thick Fat ability to make due and help it out wirh it's mediocre defenses as much as possible
With Smeargle returning in the Indigo Disk, I wonder what your take on Pikasprey Blue's 6 Smeargle challenge might be. In both Scarlet/Violet and past games where Smeargle was available.
Ever since I was a kid I loved the terrifying giant Pokémon, never even tried the cute ones until I was around 17 (Pokémon like clefable, togekiss, azumarill etc) boy was I missing out on some baddies
Late pokemon for me have always Sneasel in Brilliant the routes nearing Snowpoint and after getting the icicle badge in the grand underground in Brilliant Diamond, Braviary and Mandibuzz have been late evolutions for my Rufflet and Vullaby in Sun and Moon.
I tried using Tyranitar in SV and he was not good for me. Maybe he’s not the best in that game or I used him wrong. But I still love him and this was my first game using him as I only have played FRLG SWSH BDSP and now SV. Weird lineup I know
Volcarona is easily one of my all time favorite Pokémon! In competitive play people would always drop a rock ground or water type to beat it only for them to get hit with a giga drain! Such good memories!
Hold on what counts as late game. When u say milotic, FIRST 2 regions it is in are gym 5+ and gym6+. When I hear late game I think just before or after gym 8. I wish u gave better clarification before number 10
I remember running Mamoswine in my team against my friend Garchomp and luckily I won because my friend Grachomp with Flamethrower and my thickfat doesn't dent my high HP Mamoswine much and my Icicle Spear took it down.
Metagross is available in SwSh but in the Crown Tundra dlc though. And it’s obtainable in BDSP to but in the postgame though. Also I still find it funny that in SM & Ultra SM you can get Salamance at around level 12-15 via the sos chain.
Well it’s mostly the gym badges you have at the time for catching certain Pokémon. Obviously, if you have a couple of gym badges, you’re not gonna be able to catch level 65 Pokémon. Compared to if you have all 8 gym badges or whatever story professions mechanic a Pokémon game replaces over gym leaders/badges. If I’m not mistaken Dynamax Adventure is tied to the post game since that’s when you can do anything tied to the Crown Tundra DLC.

A Pokemon that you get really late in Pokemon Red but is absolutely amazing is Starmie. With the combination of Psychic and Water you get Stab Surf and Psychic, plus Ice Beam and Thunderbolt for coverage plus recover if you even need it.
I don't care about its weakness to dark types Metagross is still my favorite pokemon ever made and I use it in every team I can. Once the next dlc comes I'll use it with that new steel dragon evolution coming
Snorlax is an excellent defense against Psychic and Ghost types in FRLG. It's immune to Ghost and has the Sp.Def to take Psychic hits. Give it Shadow Ball and you can send these types packing!
Dude Garchomp evolves at LV 48, the same LV that you get Noivern. Why do you feel like it's so difficult to get? Ironically the one of the lower LV on the list. Regardless nice list.
Garchomp being number 1 is the same reason you really shouldn't put the first pokemon theme on ANY lists: we all know it will be there, it is a boring answer, and is stealing spot from something more interesting.
