i don't think disco ball or floor is a good idea. kinda ruins the theme. maybe have it where u get sent into a dance with the spinning adds that go around the room and if you mess up you take damage because they get angry and bite you or something. if you do it all correct maybe u get a buff or not. just an idea.

While listening to suggestions to how to improve the dance mechanic in the fight, I instantly got flashbacks of Will of the Emperor dodging his swings mechanic that gave you a button that gave a big fat smack on the boss's face if you managed to do it without getting hit. Getting hit in of itself was stressful because it slowed you and made it even harder too so slight-punish for failing/ reward for succeeding kind of deal was really enjoyable and I think these unique mechanics should highlight bosses like that, not be forgetable.
Funny you mention the dance should be more DDR-like. In Nazjatar there is a secret(?) chest from that elemental magician guy from the weekly quest, in which you have to time you command inputs and only by following the rhythm you can do it preciselly enough to unlock the chest (and oh boy, talk about precision).
I would *really* love to see some sort of couple-waltz where your raid is paired off with each other (odd numbers get an NPC or spawn-in whatsit) and they start out with 3-4 stacks of a buff. The buff is removed based on how well the two players dance together/follow commands, the timeout time is based on the # of missed moves (here it seems like you miss one move -> 30 sec timeout, so mayb 7-10 sec of timeout per missed move). And then give players a haste/dmg buff of some sort that scales based on how fast they managed to dance. If they want to be really cruel, they could make the players figure out how the dance goes, so you have to pay attention to your partner and decide who 'leads' and who'll copy the other.

i was about to ask, if this dance phas takes long healers wil jsut go nova inbetween them feels like a 3 healer boss(certainly so if there end up being any damage requriement)
Yeno what would be fantastic is you got paired partners in the raid (if odd numbers you are paired with NPC) you need to press the same combo of keys while not knocking into other dance partners like the crazy npc that are dancing about...
Doesn't Lord Stavros have a Duelist's Riposte tank swap mechanic? Seems like an important mechanic to forget, but this may have been a change from Beta as well.
Time for a Laps Around Oribos??? :D Edit: it might sound pointless, but BfA in retrospect? Similar to how you did Legion. Even if you have nothing good to say people will still want to hear it!
In my opinion it would've been cooler if the raid was forced to add more bosses over the course of the fight. Like "inviting them to the dance" kinda. And you'd need to kill them more or less at once as you have to at Hivemind to amp up the intensity of the fight over time instead of decreasing it. Regarding the dance phase itself I'm completely sold on your ideas to improve it.
seems like the dance mechanic is being pulled straight out of FFXIV real-time action effects. I like that they're attempting it, and hopefully they'll improve on it.
What scares me the most of this boss. The clutter. Everything is cluttered with red mechanics ontop of a red floor. I hope the new option to hide non-essential spells work by the time we do this on live, because it's looking like a nightmare for melee just to see what's going on.
It would be awesome if multiple people got teleported to main floor to dance with bosses, have 3 people get teleported for each of the bosses, and those 3 dance with the boss like a waltz, and theres a cd so the same 3 people can't do it every time.
please dont give me another mechanic requiring me to rebind backpettle again. I want that bind back! M Azshara required me to rebind keyboard turning and soccor with back pettling.
You can tell they are mythic raiders because they always want more added on top of what is already there that most heroic raiding guilds take a few weeks to learn to do.
Great vid, I still laugh at Preach telling me PTR testing doesn't help all all with ranking. Yeah right. Was this a pug raid or has everyone in the guild got a key. I know i haven't and there are people gone through the campaign, tested raid bosses and clearing +15s.

That constantly jumping around hunter just because he can is infuriating and epilepsy fit inducing. Yes, we know hunters are mobile jerks, but ffs just stay in one place when you're not doing mechanics.
Blizzard and they freaking wall boss ability. Its so silly. Cover the hole fucking room. And the dance boss ability...? Give me a break for lord of god.
