This fight is frigging awesome. Guild got stuck on it this week but we were all enjoying the literally clusterfuck of mechanics that we had to manage. I for one loved how simple and funny the dance macabre was and how it gave you a nice little intermission to figure out what your next move was.
@IHS I mean, at least on this boss you can check logs and see that a fair amount kills Stavros first, not last. So saying Fatboss is always better or even on this particular guide, is just heavily opinion based - not facts.
I love this fight, there's a lot of flavour to it, the mechanics aren't overly complicated. Only thing I'll say is the difficilty of ot goes from ok with 3, easy as hell with 2, then hard and chaotic with 1.
@@benson6158 If dps in phase 2 is the issue, I'd recommend killing Niklaus first. That's what the raid I was with yesterday did, and it was much easier in the end. Frieda's phase 2 mechanic isn't that hard either. It just makes things more healing intensive because everyone will take a 10k hit. There's one annoying overlap with Stavros' dancers, but aside from that, it's a non-issue if your healers aren't terrible. We only saw her phase 2 mechanic once each pull. Really, the more dangerous part about killing Nik first is getting people to remember to kick Frieda. But if you have everyone set her as focus and make a macro to kick their focus, it's kind of a non-issue
Love you guys at FBTv but I think killing Castellan Nikolas is infinitely easier as all he adds is a Stoneborn add you melt through if the Dutiful Attendant isn't up. AND I REALLY LIKE THE DANCE MACABRE OKAY?!?!
From what I was reading on r/competitivewow a lot of guilds that got early kills had better luck killing Stavros first, Castellan 2nd and Baroness last. I think the tank hit and the raid circles are easier to manage with cooldown timing. As opposed to having to move so much during the final phase. Not sure if I will still agree when we get there on heroic. However, with our attempts on normal tonight, thats the way we're going to go.
Personally, I think this encounter is super fun. It is very thematic as well, the Dance fits the encounter and area perfectly. Also, it is kind of a new thing and I like mechanics that punish mistakes but reward playing them clean (also: its not that hard to do the dance so..). I think Phse 2 (after Frieda dies) feels like the most dangerous phase to me.
Our group does Stavros first the Niklaus then Frieda last. Stavros owns the two abilities you will most hate, Dark Recital and Dancing Fools. Being able to eliminate them is great. This means you'll get Prideful Eruption, Soul Spikes and Manifest Pain from Frieda but all are much less likely to cause death or wipes than the afore mentioned Dark Recital and Dancing Fools.
Our guild was failing at this boss while we was doing kill order: Frieda > Niklaus > Stavros. But once we swaped to: Niklaus > Stavros > Frieda, it became easy fight
If thats the case, i wonder if killing Niklaus first is a better option since you wont be having to kill the waiters or attendants, and focus all dps into the bosses.
@@BrodyCanuck I just cleared it this way, using Nik -> Frieda -> Stavros! (On normal, anyway...) No adds is DEFINITELY the way to go in the pug world. In a guild setting where everyone learns everyone elses' patterns its still probably best to do either Stavros -> Frieda -> Nik or Frieda -> Stavros -> Nik depending on what your specific team is struggling with, but in a random pug, Nik first is DEFINITELY the way to go.
I just did this fight. It's really hectic. I actually love the dance mechanic even though it's stupid easy because it's cute and it gives you a little time to catch your breath after all the other mechanics that have you on edge constantly

So why while pugging I only managed to kill the council once we leave Frieda last. Frieda last is literally easiest thing in the world, the only thing you have to worry are kicks but so far groups managed to kick her entire time with focus kick macros.
agreed i will say freida last seems the easiest for pugs and lfr, stavros last is best when you lack interupts that are ranged or reliable and have people that can hard switch if they cant then freida will still be easier (phase 3 is the worst), niklaus seems to be the hardest hitting of the three phase 3s from what ive seen so far the adds are murder
We had a healer who couldn't understand why he was dying, because he was doing all the moves correctly. Turns out the idiot wasn't going to his light, he was just doing it in a random square on the floor.
Love the guides but sometimes it's a bit too much info for segments seeing how heroic mechanics are mixed with normal so it's kinda confusing to know which is which.
A guide mixed with your own pull will help you understand. You can piece all the info together as you wipe on the boss. You arent supposed to 1 shot everything.

I don't understand why you're killing Frieda first. As long as you can manage the interrupts on her, she does absolutely nothing. We went Nicolaus -> Stavros -> Frieda.
i agree with a lot of the comments here. Nick > Stav > Frieda is definitely way easier. Less room for people who don't know what they're doing to mess it up for everyone else.
We did that in normal and it was waaaaaaaaaaaay easier. I'm not sure if those mechanics are more punishing in heroic or not, but if it translates the same way then yes. For once I disagree with fatboss and stavros is pretty difficult if left up last. That aoe cast is annoying to deal with, but if you can get a good interrupt rotation on it, it's more favorable than dealing with dancers the whole time.
@@Schilani Most people I talked to across guilds that killed this boss, killed Niklaus last. Just because Fatboss did it different doesn't mean they did it superior. And if you look at warcraftlogs, the amount of guilds dealing with the veteran stoneguard over the stupid Stavros dance is also fairly high if not higher.

For us in normal, killing lord stavros first was waaaay easier. We wiped 8 times trying to do fatboss order, 1 shot it after switching to killing lord stavros first.
This is 100000% wrong order!!!! Provided you dont have a group of monkeys go Stavros -> Niklaus -> Frieda. Frieda does No damage if the volley is kicked and her final ability is a little raid damage instead of an insane dps check. Very disappointed that Fatboss have done little research into this on live and instead just pulled over the Best Beta order.
We wipes so much (around 20-30 wipes) on this order, and then tried Stavros -> Fireda -> Niklaus, finished in 2nd try. Maybe your suggestion works good too, but definitely go for Stravos 1st. the partner mechanic is so hard, kill people, but you get used to it in time, the next dancer are quite annoying too but doable, but when he is left alone on last phase, its quite the hardest mechanic you can have (and I'm talking only on normal here, no idea on heroic)

we took stavros first because fuck dark recital. Then we lusted Nik after the dance to get him down asap, killing the ads right after. And then just murder Freida.
On normal or heroic though? On heroic the Freida damage seems like it would be almost unhealable, alongside the shit she puts on the floor that she then decides to stand in forever while casting.

Oneshot dancers covering the entire floor are the worst mechanic, people die for not standing in the spot, or bringing pools into the spot, or not killing mobs on time. Also by the end of cast large blood a swirlies cover whole floor do you cannot see the pools .Freda last felt like a joke after this.
Man ive wiped to this boss like 30 times now after artificer died in like 3 pulls; ive come to hate this room. I don't find the concept of un avoidable damage fun
@@shotgunammo Have you actually tried it? I assure you it is by absolutely miles the easiest order. It makes phase 2 considerably more difficult, however it makes phase 3 completely trivial.

yea this kill order is pretty garbage. Anyone with at least 10 iq and a working pc can see that just from glancing at warcraftlogs.

FYI our group got dance macabre to pop during violent uproar/dancing fool, and it did not cancel or delay the mechanic. Saddest wipe.

You can just S key back and strafe left and right during the dance and it gets the job done, no need to spin your camera and potentially get confused

It's actually default. What you do is go to Interface> Raid Profiles> set them up how you like.

Do the tanks separate any bosses or stack? And if separate which ones?
