My first Warhammer army. Now I have Orcs & Goblins, Warriors of Chaos and Skaven as well, but it is my first love. And if we ever get a new book, I'll field them more once again.
I quite like all the elves in fantasy, but if I had to list them in order of preference, it would probably go Wood Elves first, followed by the Dark Elves and finally the High Elves, but they're all pretty awsome
Magic Items... Also, necromancers and vampire counts like Athel Loren for all the previous unwanted visitors that have been killed there, for some reason.
The wood elves never use wood that's 'alive', in essence they fashion their bows and arrows from dead branches. And the wood elves defend the forest during autumn and winter, to answer your other question, when the forest spirits hibernate.
Because then the forest spirits are at their strongest - not to mention Orion - and they are far from defenseless then: spites, dryads, tree kin and treemen.
@makakooos It's not actually correct, entirely. Thing is, the dwarfs were cutting down trees to spite the elves for wrongdoings during the War of the Beard (I think), basically the forest spirits and the wood elves fought separately. Only out of necessity they won a great victory against the dwarfs, and since then they are 'friends'. And that's saying a lot, as neither Drycha nor that Treeman guy whose name I forgot (was it Durthu ? ) have come to accept the elves. In this version at least.
@BigDog91527 Athel Loren is a live entity, when the wood elves take something (cut wood, hunt animals...) they must offer something to the forest as payment. They live in a symbiosis, that is: I do something for you and you do something for me. hope I made the things clear :D

@jaspertheking4life Yes I agree we rely on stealth, but in a 1 to 1 fight the Wood Elves would win only because of their knowledge of their surroundings and how they can quickly adapt to where they are.... If Wood Elves wanted to, they could storm the High Elves and get rid of them. And of course, teh emperah is the almighty god, BLACK TEMPLARS FTW!!!! Will.

If you read the fluff in the army books you will know that the High Elves that did not want to hide, ran out like crazy fucks, and lived in the forest. Therefore Wood Elves rule forever, because they didn't want to be cornered in their own land. Nuff said. Will.

i thought the trees we're the friends of the Wood Elves, yet they have bows and arrows made out of wood? What the fuck is up with this?
