You saved me from trying to pry the switch cluster up front the inside and breaking stuff. Gotta diagnose non working mirror adjuster knob. (Not the fuse #6)
Do all 4 window switches have a backlight on them in the Forester when lights are on? My driver window switch does not have the backlight, but the other 3 do, and I wonder if that's why my window isn't working.
Hello friend, I'm sorry but my English is not very good, therefore, I did not understand how you cut the switch on the passenger window. Could you explain that to me? Please. thank you very much
Does this video apply to a 2003 Forester? There are, of course, 4 switches, one for each window. The switch for the driver window does NOTHING. The other 3 switches work fine. The drivers window is stuck fully open. The switch does nothing. Do I really need to remove the door panel?
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage thanks. (1) What’s involved in a dealer reset? Does the dealer need to remove the door panel to do a reset? (2) Can a non-dealer mechanic do this reset? And … (3) does this video apply to a 2003 Subaru Forester?
You totally glossed over the removal of the "plastic rivet, and how to replace the part you just drilled out. Liked the door removal but the rest was useless
Thank you so much, been trying to find a video to remove the driver's side window switch. Saved me so many hours.
Cheers mate

I was about to do the same thing, so figured the video would come in handy

Good job my friend.
Thanks. I initially wanted to just pull it off, so I’m glad I removed the door panel and found the screws and rivet lol
Looking for video with replacement instructions of the rear window switch, 2019 forester

do you think those back window switches can be replaced by the similar front ones to have auto on the back?
Probably not. I wondered the same thing for my Infiniti and was told it’s a computer thing not a switch
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage oh. I was thinking it would be something on the switch

The dealer can also reset the system which is what ultimately happened in this case. The switch ended up being fine
