Many thanks for the helpful vid! Gave me the confidence to dive into the door of my 2020 Forester for a mirror swap out. Can't say the sound of a door panel popping out is music to anyone's ears though, but the sound of money saved definitely is :)
I'm using your video as a guide to removing the door panel to do some vibration deadening on the door sheet metal. Debating whether to also remove the factory sound dampener and put on new stuff... Thanks for sharing this.
"...What I can tell you is..... we got an issue" This is the attitude I have been trying to embody at work when a customer asks me what went wrong XD Thanks for the vid.
Great video. I took off my passenger side mirror on a trash can while trying to avoid hitting a workman who stepped into the road from between 2 trucks. Got the mirror replacement mirror from E-Bay ($136 v/s $920 from dealer), was unsure of the door panel removal puzzle. Think I have it now. Many thanks!
😩the dealership will knock you over the head every time. SMH. Glad I could help.👍🏾. I hope that guy learned a lesson that day. Lucky he didn’t get the person who’s driving and texting. Glad it all worked out.✌🏾
Replaced my passenger side mirror today with one from E-Bay, thanks to your helpful video. The dealer wanted $900 to do the same job. Cost me about $142 including a can of white Rustoleum paint. Dealers make all their profit in the service dept!!
Thanks dude. One of my back windows stopped working maybe the first month I got my Forester in 2021. It doesn't matter which switch I use, front or rear. 100,000mi later, I still haven't fixed it. It's time. I was going to have the dealer fix it, but they couldn't even be bothered to replace my cracked coolant tank. Instead, they called me a liar.
You’re welcome! Yeah I stay away from the dealer as much as I possibly can. It’s funny you said you just dealt with it being broken, because mine just broke again a few months ago, and I just decided to roll with it rather than fix it again. lol. If I find another switch at a decent price, I might go ahead and fix it again. lol👍🏾
Thanks! I will have to consider. I’ve been against it since I didn’t want my slow vehicle sounding like it might actually have some go to it.😂. But I’ve heard the Nameless and it does sound good, so we will see.👍🏾
Great video. Man you always crack me up because it's like watching myself. Come on! I know you can do the 60k yourself. Let them change the oil and rotate the tires. Filter changes and spark plugs? Let's save some more $$! Great job on the switch and door panel.
Lol thanks! Man you know I’m all about saving $$$ lol. But at 60k they go over everything, so I figured it would be best to go that route to stay on top of everything and make sure all is good, especially the CVT.👍🏾
Great job on removing the door. I love you videos because you show all the steps involved with the job at hand. The spark plug job video was somewhat annoying to watch because of the background music. Also, made it difficult to hear you voice above the music. Suggest you skip the music in future videos. You voice is comforting to listen to. Can't wait to see the 60K miles service since I own a 2020 Forester. Keep the videos coming and where possible use a torque wrench. It just may save you a headache in the future.
Thank you, I appreciate it. Yeah I didn’t realize how bad the music was on the spark plug video until after I posted it and absolutely everyone said something about it. Lol. As for torquing, I do if I know the torque values.👍🏾. But I’m working on posting more. Been having issues with the Mac, which has been delaying things.🥺
Overall, I still love it. I think more power would make it better. But with that, I notice when I drive my wife’s V6 Honda Accord, I like to use that power and it’s easy to exceed the speed limit where as with the forester, you find yourself being more conservative. So the up note, It helps reduce speeding tickets.😂. I also like the improved eyesight in the 2021 model.

You’re welcome! Glad I could help. I agree with you on that one. That sound is always a “hope I didn’t just brake it” sound.😂✌🏾

@@robertpaul212 I think it would be a good idea to replace the oem. It can only get better. lol 👍🏾
@@Lucrativesoldier okay sounds good. 👌🏻
Thank you! This helped me a lot, very quick and easy

Thanks for the video. Hope I'll never need your guide for my 2019 Forester 😄
Lol thanks, I agree. Sounds like you’re already doing better than me and my Forester. It hasn’t been too bad for me though.
Super useful! Thank you!
I would recommend a nameless axle back exhaust for your next thing to do! They sound so good!

Nice forester content! 🤟🏻
Thanks! New vids will be posting soon.✌🏾
Hello.. overall how do you like the Forester? Salesman who sold me my 2018 XT in 2017 told me 2 weeks back the 2022 Forester will be offering XT also.
Overall, I still love it. I think more power would make it better. How did you remove the plastic rivet holding the window switch unit to the door panel?
@@84SERV you don’t do anything to the river. Just remove the two screws pointed out in the video
Sweet!
Looking for video with replacement instructions of rear window switch, 2019 Forester
The rear should be similar to the front. When I get a chance I look it over for more details.
you gotta do the test first before you put it all back together 😂
nice video homie
Yeah thankfully everything worked ok.😂
Window regulators aren’t too bad they’re a pain to replace but not too bad
Right! One of the easier fixes, thankfully. Lol
How much was the replacement for the window switch unit?
I found mine used on eBay for $60
By any chance can you link to ebay what you purchased?
Unfortunately the link is no longer available.🥺. Sorry
Did you buy a used part off ebay? Subaru wants $400 for this
I did purchase one off of eBay for $60
Next install : TURBOS !
Lol my thoughts exactly. Need to put a little umf under the hood.😂👍🏾
It would be a better video if you didn't block the camera with your body or head when using the tool to free the door panel
lol I will keep that in mind next time. Options are limited when you're a one person crew. lol
