At work, I am frequently unloading, loading, carrying, and/or stacking 25 lbs and 50 lbs bags of granules. Kettlebell training has completely changed the way I do this (and the relative ease with which I do it), and Mark's videos have helped me reframe my thoughts around it. It is no longer work for me. It is fun. It's a workout. I'm getting paid to burn some calories and increase my strength, endurance and work capacity. When I have time, I don't even use the dolly to move them. I dead clean the bags to my shoulder and carry them to the stacks.
That's awesome man 🔥
Just don't let your boss find out coz you never gonna get a raise if you're having so much fun at work.
Brother I appreciate you 🙏 and your advice continue thank you
That's literally gold information you are putting out here. I love kettlebells. They are a part of life for me for a couple of years now. Always appreciate new information and new perspectives. 🔥💯🙌
I love how you explained the thought and relevance of the exercise in significant detail before diving into it.
Mark, I just want you to know that you’ve got such a great channel, and you’re an excellent communicator. I especially appreciate that in every video, you emphasize the importance of putting the weight down to avoid injury
Everyone gets hurt putting the way down. Hands-down the most common injury I’ve seen. In all types of lifting.
Talk about a timely video, just picked up a second kbell of matching weight (for another purpose) and saw this the following day. As someone who has had issues with lower back and other areas related to mobility, glad to have found this channel. I tried this just now, and it felt a lot better than regular deadlifts ever have for me.
Your an excellent teacher.
Another informative and valuable video. 🔥🔥🔥
Love this instruction, thank you Wildman 😊
This video made me just that little bit more motivated to work up a sweat, thanks.
Mark your doing great work for people, we should all buy one program at least to say thanks
That would very much help me
And it would be appreciated
I did, the new one for deconditioned people!
That's a great idea. I found this channel during the lockdowns and have been learning so much, I wanted to get a t-shirt to support the channel but now I think I'd rather buy one of the programs.
Mad Max: Beyond Kettle Bell
Two bells enter, one bell leave.
Hey Mark. Been watching your vids for year's and had good result's. Keep up the good work. Look forward to seeing more. Cheers from Sydney
Thank you for watching
Finally l heard what I want -"double kettlebell snatch ". We'll wait for video with a good technique.
Why aren't other areas of life explained as clearly as this?
😂 great question
In any communications I have to do now, I think “how would Mark explain it?”
Am I the only one who noticed that in the back of the flat bed truck... they have a coffin set up as a tool box? lol that is cool
Do you have a double kettlebell program in the works? I’d love to add this to my library and weekly Tetris.
I find that my glutes & legs fire a bit differently when I keep the handles 'horizontal' as opposed to as you've demo'd (i.e. 'vertically') -- nothing wrong with that! I do both, just to mix things up. But I feel better/stronger with the handles horiz. (esp. with heavier wts)
P.S.: Hey Mark, looking forward to the KB RDL series of videos...!
I watched one of your other videos today, and did those kettlebell exercises today at the gym. I want to incorporate more into my routine, but have to be very careful with my low back, as it has been injured in the past, and now is more susceptible to flair-ups. I am hoping some of the exercises will strengthen my lower body, and make injury less susceptible. I think I am going to hire a personal trainer at the gym for a few sessions to help me out.
Heavy club swinging in the lateral plane has great success for strength ing the low back
Single-arm club swinging for the past year has been one of the best things I’ve ever found for my lower back. It builds strength and mobility at the same time.
When do you inhale and exhale ?
Can you offer any guidance on using different sized kettlebells for this exercise? E.g., 24 kg in one hand, 20 kg in the other? Thank you, really learn a lot from your videos.
I can’t get both bells between the legs very easily, so I have done double outside kettlebell swings; otherwise I just do a two-handed swing using a bell that’s twice as heavy.
I’ve never liked the feel of deadlifting or swinging two bells inside the legs (and I’ve been kettlebelling for about 20 years). I elect the same options that you’ve mentioned.
Is that a coffin on the truck to the left?
I have always struggled to differentiate between a double sumo DL and a double sumo squat. Any help would be appreciated.
What are those vehicles behind you about??!
If that one on the left isn’t a Madd Max prop, I would be amazed
Question on the rib cage down que: do you mean this to get a slight extension in the lower back - sort of rounding the low back? Or are you trying to compact straight down?
My understanding of Mark’s use of that phrase is to ensure that people avoid rib flair (i.e. avoid thoracic extension and keep a neutral spine).
Double Bubble
QUESTION: Hey @MarkWildman what would be the math for this? You said ppl will start with sets of 5 and walk it up towards sets of 20. But how many sets before you start a new cycle?
Would you do double deadlift in parallel to training unilateral movements ?
I would. Certainly.
What would you recommend for arm/shoulder assymetries from years of Tennis? Please help I've been trying to fix it forever.
Work at the level of your weakest side until they're even
Going to guess MW will say clubs working all 4 directions (e.g. circles, shield casts, mills: inside and outside with both hands).
Like others here... THANK YOU!!!!
Mad Max truck?
Random thought exercise: would you consider Turkish getups or just getups in general to be deadlifts? Right here right now while this question just entered my mind, I would say the getups I'm aware of can be thought of as deadlifts since the movements start from positions where there is no kinetic and no potential energy in the system. I guess any that rely on momentum would not be deadlifts. Not actually saying I would yank anything from my programming based on exercise classification since I see usefulness in performing as many movement patterns as possible in any given training week, but I'm just curious for thoughts on the question...
A Turkish getup is a chest press, overhead press, and lunge, right? The lower body lift is from one knee
Agree. TGUs are presses.
I am looking at it from an energy perspective. At the beginning the kettlebell is not moving and the athlete has to roll to their side to grasp the bell, roll the bell over their chest, and initiate the rest of the complex movement, which includes a hip hinging element that most people seem to equate to deadlifting even though not all hip hinges are deadlifts, as in windmills. I guess it depends on if you include the roll over to put the bell on the chest part as being part of the TGU or not; for most people, I guess their first rep per side would be a deadlift following my view but their subsequent ones would not be since they probably don't roll over the bell between reps to reset for the next rep on the same side. Once on the chest, I'd agree, the bell now contains potential energy being off the floor.. Anyway, I can see your point of view. Thanks for providing your input to my random question fellow commenters!
TGU is a vertical carry. It relies on “pressing” muscles of the lower and upper body, but it’s a weighted carry.
It does included a muted hip hinge (from the Windmill to the Half-Kneel), but I don’t know of any coaches that program it as a deadlift. Too quadriceps dominant imo.
Did you make this video in a Mad Max-like post apocalyptic future?
My driveway
Mark, what do you think about double swings between the legs vs. double suitcase swings? I find that suitcase swings are much more comfortable with doubles vs. between the legs. It's a bit odd because I find double cleans between the legs to be fine, but the pace of swings makes it uncomfortable when between the legs, so I just do suitcase swings.
Also...excellent explanation / demonstration as always.
What do you mean by suitcase swings? Suitcase deadlifts?
@@peterbruck4363 Swings with your arms in the suitcase position. So the bells swing outside your legs and not inside.
That’s actually the topic of a video to be shot this week.
@@MarkWildman Awesome. Looking forward to it! Thanks
What is the difference between this and sumo squat? Im so confused! This looks like he's squatting.
Is there programming for using different weights simultaneously? Nothing is evenly loaded in the real world.
