DIY screen printing for the first time + tips/tutorial

- this video shows my process of DIY screen printing. it includes how to DIY a screen for printing, how to expose your screen, how to coat with emulsion, the materials you need for DIY screen printing, and what i wish i knew before I started screen printing. it also includes where to get the materials to begin screen printing for cheap (ish) while you are on a budget. i made a design with robert smith from the cure and i put it on a tank top, which i am selling on my etsy linked below. below is a link to Mari Johnson’s video which helped me out a lot. thank you for watching.

@@chizdoesthings I’m sure she will have a list of stuff soon that she just has to have. 😂 I grew up with creative people so I have always wanted to give my kids the same. I have three kids so my walls are pretty much covered in anything from scribbles to full blown art. Love it! 🖤🧶🖤
I recommend wood varnish so the wood would last longer without warping

for the actual print did u have to carve out the design from the transparency paper so the ink gets on the shirt? or can u place the transparency paper on the screen as it is
would using binderclips to hold the screen to the shirt be helpful?

is the ink then safe for machine washing? these r really cool
yeah it is! i’ve washed mine a few times with no issue, it’s acrylic ink so nothing should happen 4 a while, i wouldn’t say the same for plastisol ink though
one thing im confused about is how and when did you put the transparent design on the screen? any help im a little lost
i don’t understand the question. i got the design printed on the transparent paper from staples (print shop). then i show how i put it on the screen in the video

How do you dry the tshirt after? Do you use Iron?
yeah i let it dry (sometimes blow with a hair drier) and heat set with an iron
