I was taught how to screen print in school last year but I totally forgot the proper steps. Your video was super instructive and it helped me out a bunch! I was printing a couple t-shirts and they came out way too light and I realized after watching your videos that I forgot to flood. Thank you!
Questions: 1. If I reuse a screen how do I get rid of the old design? 2. How long should I let a shirt dry? Also, amazing video I have a vinyl konogram small business and I want to start screen printing but I was so scared. Now I may try it.
✨I’ve been binge watching all of your content! Love the transparency, love the passion, truly appreciate you making these. I can’t wait to send you the first shirt I print from my brand because you’ve been so much help with the screen printing tips and videos. I just got me a 1 of 1 Rebirth Tee 😁 can’t wait to get a fit off in it!💕
THANK U!!! I found a screen for $10 at the thrift and it's been so difficult to find inks/supplies that are affordable. Such an underappreciated medium.
Thank you so much for sharing your process! I can't express how helpful this straightforward video was after so much research lol Also love your work, it's like walking art and of course your channel! I can't wait to do my own prints soon!
Thank you for showing this. It is very interesting to know how to do it without a cricut or vinyl. It was very interesting to see how you get the designs on the screen and how they are burnt on. Thank you so much!
Thanks for making this so accessible. Lots of other videos make this pretty intimidating, but this actually makes me want to try it. I'm not after perfection and am under no illusion I can be an expert in a rush. But getting a taste for this without having to spend a fortune is an encouraging thought.
So glad I found your channel! I’m trying to start my own brand and this was just what I needed! Your energy and brand are sick and I can’t wait to see more !!
Thank you very much!! Out of all the videos I watched on this subject… you are the best!! No half hour speech on screen printing before actual showing. You were right down to it. easy steps shown ,slow paced, cheaper tools , different methods!! Keep up the good work!!! And Thank you again!!
- you need to lubricate the screen with water first if it is water based ink (spray mist then dry for 10 mins) - your t shirt needs to be adhered to the surface using table tac or spray adhesive - you need a squeegee that can flood the entire print and pull/push the entire print ( if you use a small one you have streaks of heavy ink load in sections/lines) - you need to ad glycerin gel to the ink to stop it from drying if you are doing multiple shirts (1-2% of ink weight) good luck
Thanks so much for these videos. If it wasn't for folks on youtube doing tutorials like this I would have never started learning the craft. It takes some time to get started but screen printing at home or on your own is totally doable. And thank you for focussing on DIY low cost stuff too. Some of the videos out there are less helpful for those of us that don't already have our own shop.
Bro the journey of figuring everything out when it comes to clothing is rough. From experimenting with hand drawing fabric paint, to buy heat presses and vinyl. But all that struggle must have a payoff at some point, and it’s all about the journey of finding the best way to do it. I appreciate you showing all these step by step processes. Currently I have a heat press and am only doing rhinestones with my cameo 4 and vinyl printing. Which is really cool especially the rhinestones but I really want to screen press, the difference between screen and vinyl is huge. Thank you for this man
I get really nice calm vibes from you. It feels very chill and like you take your time. I JUST got a "testing kit" from this subscription place and I kinda loved the first print even thought I messed up. It turned out pretty nice. Now I kind of want to try it but it seems a litte daunting to start. I will follow to learn more :D
Very clear, easy to follow intro, unlike some videos I've seen on UA-cam. Thank you so very much, your guide is very helpful. Wishing you every success with Unfinished Legacy.💜
Great video! Once you mix the emulsion and the sensitizer, do you have to use it all up or can you save it for the next project? in other words, how long does it last if you keep it in a dark place?
I print photographs using a technique called carbon transfer print which uses essentially the same mechanism as the emulsion making in screen printing but the sensitising chemicals are quite toxic and I'm just so ready to start making something again that's not just a constant menace to my health 😂. And just want to say your studio is marvellous I would kill for a space like that to make work :P
This is the best DIY video on screen printing I’ve seen. Straight to the point and simply explained. No ranting or using equipment that the average person couldn’t afford. THANK YOU
I appreciate this video for beginners. Other videos will say for beginners but they are not . They miss important steps like the baby steps needed. But Thanks for not holding information back to help those who need videos like theses to start.

A+ job....1 thing to mention to help with better transfer....is that I found flooding the screen first then making you first pass pushing give better results

I love how I saw this Basquiat portrait on fabric a few years ago in some pinterest photo laying around under some books and I was like wow that looks cool I wanna make this myself for my room or print that image on a hoodie maybe.. Bredrin thank you SO MUCH for this. Your videos are dope & to the point. You seem like a genuine person & we know how rare that is. Keep doing you, thanks again for the inspiration.
Great Video. I live in an apartment and dont have access to a high pressure garden hose. Just wanted to point out that the pressure in my kitchen sink was enough to wash the emulsion out. for a bigger screen I just took it into the shower with me. Just in case anyone is worried that you'd need higher pressure.
As a complete beginner.... loads of questions, sorry! Did screen printing always rely on light exposure or was there a different way of making the screen? And if the first exposure doesn't work, do you have to start right over again, with a new layer of pure emulsion?
Love the video, this was very helpful and informative and inspired me to start doing my own screenprinting. Would you be interested and doing a similar video; very DIY with low cost, but with multiple colors? Like burning screens for say a 4 color design without an actual press and just the screens?
When you first started your brand did you go straight to screen printing? Have you experimented with heat transfer or any other style of printing? I don't think lowes sells anything rated above 300 watts anymore in store but they can still be found online if you look hard enough - be sure to always power it through a surge protector and always have a class B or ABC fire extinguisher on hand (NEVER class A only - Those can make an electrical fire worse)

best video I've watched on screen printing you didn't over explain. kept it simple and have point for point ideal on how simple it can be

- your t shirt needs to be adhered to the surface using table tac or spray adhesive
- you need a squeegee that can flood the entire print and pull/push the entire print ( if you use a small one you have streaks of heavy ink load in sections/lines)
