That's not Powergirl, as much as the suit is similar, that is Galatea, wich in the comics is the clone of Powergirl, in this universe is the engineered clone of Supergirl
I thought it was a great touch that they gave Galatea Power Girls costume. I looked up the definition and got back: "a strong, twill cotton cloth, often striped, used for play clothes, uniforms, etc.". Galatea getting the Power Girl costume (they should be called uniforms; clothing worn for a particular job) was lending the character a multidimensional depth of the tapestry of her tale. Tragic figure too. Knowing that she was a copy and resenting it. But her handlers must have wanted that resentment against the person she was likely trained to assasinate in particular, and of course, one among many that they wanted or might want to silence, kidnap or assasinate. She's isn't inherently evil, she'd is what she was trained to be for her entire existance. As another pointed out, it would have been great if they could have had the time to flush out her character out some more. Lots of interesting potential there. She could go full blown evil instead of doing it in an attempt to prove herself in order to win approval/be accepted of others. It's not hard to imagine Galatea going rogue, turning on Star Labs, becoming more of an anti-hero or going all in on the Villianous role. LOTS of potential.
@@matthewronssonIt might’ve been the DCAU’s way to use Power Girl without naming the character specifically; maybe because they didn’t have permission to actually use Power Girl at the time.
@@jordanwalker1988 That's half true. While she might've initially started out that way, the actual Power Girl appears in the tie-in comics. We could assume Galatea eventually turns good and adopts the Power Girl moniker, but then we see Galatea ALSO appears in the comics. Meaning both characters are actually part of the DCAU. The channel Watchtower Database made a breakdown video a few months back with interviews from the writers of the series.
One of the things I'm realizing now that I used to LOVE as a kid was how they could get taken off active duty. It made the JL feel like a real organization with character
I loved Question's part in it all how he interrogates the reporter in the cab putting his mask on and setting off a smoke bomb, "what do you think about that prepackaged government regulated pop kids like now a days" lol.
I liked how they reused the robot from the Batman Beyond spinoff series "the Zeta Project". This show takes place decades prior to that robot being created, so this must be an earlier prototype.
Not Tia, Tea (Tey-ah), short for Galetea, referencing the legend of Pygmalion, about a sculptor who sculpts such a beautiful statue that he falls in love with her (naming her Galetea.). The goddess Aphrodite takes pity on him and brings his sculpture to life. Since Powergirl in the animated JLU universe is a clone of Supergirl, crated by Dr. Hamilton, initially as a countermeasure for the superhero crowd, but he comes to care for her as a father, and names her Galetea, because she's basically his "creation". In the comics, Powergirl is literally Supergirl (younger cousin to Superman) from a different dimension, who is older and more *ahem* developed, and one of the good guys.
So, we played a tabletop DC supers game a few years ago. I played a clone of Superman that was born from eggs taken from Powergirl when she was in the hands of Project Cadmus. (I didn't make the character, we all played progenerated characters) He was from her eggs and cells from Superman, Lex and Flash. He was to be Lex's son, but due to the Speedforce not reacting all to well with the kryptonian DNA. He aged to his mid teens before things leveled out and escaped. He only knew his "name" of K'Lex and felt a desire to help people, though he didn't know his powers and hurt people by accident. He was known as the black streak at first. In this world Powergirl was Supergirl from another earth, much like the normal stories. Well K'Lex was stalking her, because he wasn't sure what would happen if he just showed up and said Hi. She spotted him and a fight broke out. She thought he was a bad guy since people got hurt and he was spying on her. He didn't stand a chance as he wasn't going full out as he didn't want to hurt her. She beat him and had him by the neck and asked him why he was following her. He looked her in the eyes and said, I just wanted to meet my mom. She was taken aback and let him go. She looked at him for a moment and flew off. She called in Superman to deal with him. Well Superman shows up and finds the kid crying. Superman sits next to him and asks to be filled in. K'Lex tells him and they head to the farm together. At the farm he is given some proper clothing, a warm meal, and a place to rest for the night. SM calls in Supergirl, fills her in and has her stay there with him. The two as the game goes on become more like brother and sister than anything else. Well Powergirl wants nothing to do with him since he was created from eggs stolen from her and is a reminder of what happened to her. After several games, he saves her life by blocking a kryptonite bullet with his body and almost dies. She asks why, he says, because you're my mom, and then passes out. She breaks down and after that, she accepts him for who he is. Her son. The game was a blast and it's to bad my brother got too sick from his ALS to keep playing, and the game ended with him dropping out.
I remember this episodes, she has a genetic telepathic link to powergirl it lets Supergirl see what ever Powergirl does as if she's doing it herself but Question accurately employed the link works both ways well Super girl sees what ever Powergirl does Powergirl gets feedback from Supergirl's conscience feeling bad about it later.
Power Girl is technically an older version of Supergirl from the original golden age, but recently, there's been a development in both Power Girls origins and timelines in brief history her origins were messed up due the original crisis stories and a odd story evolving Alantain origins. Later, changes to her powers were made as some were based in magic. But this timeline was rebooted of a sort. She, Power Girl, has recently been thought to also have some common connections to a certain existence. The new gods and beliefs have a mixed heritage of Krypton and New Gods that could also apply to Supergirl. This could be why Darkside shows some interest in Kryptons. Though Supergirl, Power Girl has identical looks and are connected to two different universes, the question is the point of their multiverse evolution of 2 Kryptons, and were they aware of the multiverse on both worlds. Especially if in Power Girls reality was the a similarities to Apocalypse and Darkside and New Gods?
Superman discovers a teenage girl in stasis while exploring the remains of his home world Krypton. She is the last survivor of Argos, a sister planet of Krypton whose civilization was destroyed when Krypton exploded. Her name is Kara In-Ze!
Power Girl is from Earth-2. Earth-2 is the home base of the Justice Society of America, The second Power Girl who Supergirl meets is her clone. Oddly if the real Power Girl was visiting Earth-1, she would have help Supergirl against clone. Oddly the Power Girl clone's creators were perverts. Yet the clone's creators had used Power Girl's costume to separate her from Super Girl.
you're mixing apples and oranges here. In this Universe there is no reference to Earth-2 and therefore no Power Girl exists to clone. This Galetea is a clone of Kara/Supergirl designed by the US governement as a living weapon against Superman and other similar powered metahumans. Because this is an alternate Universe that is why Superman is less powerful and needs breathing equipment while traveling in space.....why Wally West is the only Flash (there is no Barry Allen here) and why John Stweard is Green Lantern (there is no Hal Jordan in this Universe) and why Kara is from a different planet in the Kyptonian Planetary System and not a blood member of the EL family (although it may be possible Argo may have been a colony world populated by Kyptonians) As to why Galetea's costume is the same as Power Girl of Earth-2....that is another aspect of this parallel Universe
Supergirl's first fight against Granny Goodness with my mother. Thought that Supergirl should be on television but it was around 20 years later before her debut.

@untio yes, Powergirl is Supergirl from earth 2

Thank you for mentioning that the clone has a fuller chest ;)
Always!
Yes! Otherwise we would never have noticed the difference.

Where's Superman in this episode
Why did the little girl do this kind of mission

Sounds a lot like the story of Bizarro, misunderstood, wanting to help but rather clumsily, good heart.
Galatea was a monster.

Bad guy throws a whole building on Kara. A building made of… hologram.

She fired her heat vision, while sleeping? Did she burn through her own skull? ‘Cause she was asleep. And our eyes roll back when we sleep.
One of those reporters looks like Carl Kochak
@@williamlamb43 I'm glad someone else noticed! 👍🏻
Did I hear Jeffrey Combs doing the voice for The Question? Yes!

The girl Supergirl fought was NOT Powergirl. She was Galactica, a Kara clone created by ARGUS.

They could just used the boom tube device to teleport the comet to Apokalips
If Danco compared The Question with Rorschach, would it even be close?
I always assumed Tia was meant to be Power Girl.
How do you make a holographic city that is actually physical, inside a small building 🤔
Bro, they made a mature clone of a Kryptonian and THAT'S what you can't believe!?😂
I thought power girl and super girl were the same person at first. but now i know at least that they are two different people🫠
Supergirl's first fight against Granny Goodness with my mother. Thought that Supergirl should be on television but it was around 20 years later before her debut.
