Superman STOPS Holding Back After Darkseid HUMILIATES Him In Front of Wonder Woman!

- In Gotham City, President Luthor has been impeached. The city is constantly monitored and there have been Kryptonite meteor showers. One final meteor hits the city, causing a massive wave. A huge debris floods the waters as Batman arrives to investigate with his high-tech. He dives deep below to find fragments of kryptonite, and near it is a spaceship. As he searches, a woman comes to the surface. She hitches Batman’s ship and he grapples on and follows her, but she crashes into the pier, and Batman now means business.

EXACTLY!!! In every conceivable way, Superman should be stronger. Going into the density of muscle structure, age, size whatever, Superman should be stronger. But the real place they get their strength is in exposure to the Yellow sun. Even a Kryptonian male that is bigger than Superman, which has happened, shouldn't be stronger than him for that reason alone.
Our sun isn't the only one. Plus other Suns power them especially white. Just red Suns depower them.

In the comic, the battle went into space and close to the sun. Superman got super charged up, broke Darkseid's arm, then flew him to the source wall and had him embedded within it.
Batman is the only person who could beat darkside without throughing a punch.

Am I the only one who thinks this animation looks worst than all the DC movies from phase 1? They changed the animation style after Apokolips War and tbh I think it looks pretty bad. Even Justice League Unlimted from 30 years ago has better animation.

Supergirl was older but never stronger than Superman. He has the cells of a billion Kryptonians and he's been absorbing the yellow sun so many years longer than her. The longer they absorb it, the stronger they are.
"Superman/Batman: Apocalypse" is a good movie. I enjoyed that despite all the power on their team, it was Batman who defeated Darkseid.
If I recall correctly, it was more of a question that Batman posed, - "Supergirl might be more powerful than Superman." Perhaps distrustful Batman wanted to manipulate Clark to have more caution around Kara?
Batman had measured that Kara had a higher metabolism than Clark. It makes sense as women do have higher metabolisms than men - and younger people have faster metabolisms than older people. Because of the faster metabolism, Kara would also have a faster absorption rate of the sun.

oh yeah this movie was KILLER... made me wanna see Summer Glau give it a try in live action... She did a good Terminator role so I think she could pull off a Kryptonian.
I was never a huge DC comics fan, but I totally appreciate the direction. These more recent generations of writers have taken the characters of Superman, Batman and wonder woman. It’s a really interesting Trinity.

Superman is just plain broken as a character. But Batman strait up turned Darkside's trump card into his middle finger. All the while Wonder Woman is being Pack Mom with everyone. And Big Barda being the "Hold my beer" character. This was a damn good entry into the animated DCU.

I hate Diana in this movie! She has no business butting in with Clark's life like that!! She thinks she can just *decide* that Kara's too dangerous?! And what a hipocrite! Diana's literally the one who caused all that destruction at the park!! What is wrong with her?!
As an Amazon, she's seen what happens when literal gods & demi-gods don't have control over themselves or their powers - and even knows something that can be done about it. They even had to get a literal Goddess to find her a training partner that could survive an "accidental" full force strike without turning into red mist.
Kara's still dangerous, but now that she's not accidentally destroying everything, she's no longer "too dangerous".
As Clark explains elsewhere: "I feel like I live in a world made of cardboard, always having to take constant care not to break something - not to break someone."

@@jeannguyen3199 I'd lean more toward reckless & rushed than reckless & stupid. A god without control of it's powers with a language barier is going to require either a translator, a psychic, or the lasso - to her knowledge she only had the lasso available.
Yes there was damage, but it was rather minor compared to what Kara could have done with an "accident" - if it only cost a city I'd still consider myself coming out ahead.
IMO the amount of recklessness shown by Bats & WW was meant to up the "stakes", since it's high enough to make two such level headed heroes act with what was on hand instead of fetching the best tools for the job.

I remember this story in the comics, drawn by the late, great, Michael Turner.
Amazing artist... just don't have him do large women. He once tried to do Titania... and made her look like a supermodel... with over-sized arms. Now Titania is smoking hot, but she is... not a slender woman. She looks like someone She Hulk could punch through a building... and has. Titania also looks like she can just throw the building at She-Hulk.. and... Yeah.
Turner's Supergirl was amazing. It was the sort of character he's good at. :D

This movie along with many others where Batman and Superman appear always shows to me why Batman is far more powerful. 1.) Batman always shows restraint which shows his mental capacity to control his emotions. Which actually shows strength mentally. Where Superman uses brute strength and his temper which has less restraint and thus shows weakness. 2.) Batman shows a great deal of strategy in his battles. Where Superman just rushes in. Again showing a weak mind. 3.) even without super powers Batman has been able to subdue Superman every time. Showing more superiority. Though these are only a few reasons why I like Batman over Superman every time. Keep in mind that is my opinion. I have my reasons

When he did beat him in dark knight returns which is a non canon elseworlds story it was because he had Oliver's help with a kryponite dust arrow and he used a mech suit. He didnt stand toe to toe with him, he had to set it up a d supes was only weakened temporarily. Its nothing close to hwat you are claiming.

@@terrencewarren7229 that is what I am referencing, dark knight returns which was done by Frank Miller is where they fight, it's an elseworlds tale where Bruce had been retired then come out of retirement. Supes was working for the US government and it was a injured superman who had tanked a nuke earlier in the graphic novel. I have the original in a long box with most of my batman comics.

It's actual old school canon that Darkseid is stronger and more powerful than superman. I don't know why everyone in the modern era decides to put these two on much more even footing.
It's also Canon that Superman always holds back in fear of crushing the people he's fighting Darkseid allows Supes to go full force

Superman grows in power the more solar radiation he absorbs, as he ages he gets more powerful while drakseid doesnt. So it makes perfect sense on why in modern DC when supea goes all out he would be on par if not more poweful.

Darkseid IS stronger then superman, and the only thing that can actually kill him is a specific type of stone (don't remember the name of it, but it's essentially kryptonite, but for darkseid and the old gods). He's also sort of... Immortal. You can't actually kill darkseid since he's just an avatar for the REAL darkseid, who's power is so broken, that he has to remain OUTSIDE of existence, for if he enters it, it would destroy all of reality and every universe within DC. Love supes, but no, he's not stronger then DS
You're not "wrong", but superman that's also more like just factoring in potential capabilities, mono v mono. I think once somewhat obscure or immeasurable things like willpower, empathetic release, hope, etc... factor in, they are much closer than you'd think, especially if his ego can be played to not cheat w kryptonite to prove superiority. My personal opinion would be if either was "actually" ruthlessly trying to take the other out and the intensity wasn't reciprocated, that 1 wins. Darkseid is the huge bully that isn't used to "receiving" anything that truly hurts, so yeah, he's bigger but has no fortitude if the initial external wall ever does take a bit of damage or instantly tries to cheat if any "limit" is approached. Darkseid is "better" but ego negates many advantages. Many versions of both really don't have "caps" and could kind of be considered head n tails "fixers".

It is stupid that writer said Superman was holding back on Darkseid in the first place. Would never really happen. DS is way to power and superman knows if he did not go full out on him ever time he always lose. Just lame and lazy writing. All heros hold back on lessor foes. Batman holds back all the time. Otherwise there would be a lot of dead villains.
THIS MOVIE WAS NOT A SEQUEL TO SUPERMAN AND BATMAN PUBLIC ENEMIES. Unless you just mean if you’re watching sequel order this movie came after that one.
