    How is setting up a small business cheaper than paying 25k for a five year privilege visa? Dont you have to have more capital than that? Not to mention the bureaucratic headaches that come with small business setups. I get that you guys help, but you make it as painless as possible. The pain still comes.The privilege visa, while it isn't perfect, will help many more regular people get a foothold in the country than the business visa with work permit. Not to mention the perks, both cosmetic and substantive, that come with the visa from being picked up at the airport in a limo, rushed through immigration and setting up a bank account.

    If you are retired, just maintain your status but have a Plan B.

    BEWARE. I have explored both options, prepared all the paperwork, and for Thai nationality considerable 'additional payments' are required to ensure 'VIP treatment'. I am not prepared to pay these huge sums of money. I don't know about PR, but I understand they don't like to approve people over 50. I also understand that use of an agency in these applications is largely NOT recommended, as agencies have zero influence.

    This video is timely. I was doing a cost analysis between Thai elite visa to business visa. From the figures I was given to by agents here in Phuket of 155k baht for the first year (maybe 15 months) and 105k baht from second year onwards its really not any cheaper than (the old) elite visa prices, which is what I applied for before the price increase. Does this sound accurate to you, are there cheaper options for an investor than this type of business visa option?

    I dig it when you mention that you have Thai citizenship. It shows that you obviously love this country very much. Well done sir. I am sure your Thai partner is very proud of you (assuming you have a Thai partner....of course any non-Thai partner would also be proud).... :)

    What is the requirements and rules for a Thai marriage visa. I dont see this visa advertised too much.

      400k in the bank , obviously marriage certificate, proof of where you reside, including photo's of you and wife outside with number showing, in bedroom and outside. Immigration police will probably visit to make sure you actually reside there along with the usual paperwork

      @martinbonner2585 Thanks maybe a 90 day visa seems easier if I only intend to stay 6 months a year probably don't even need to put 400K in the bank for that.

      @martinbonner2585 10 місяців тому +2

      Not sure if you can get two 90 day visas to be honest. They charge but it might be worth you seeing what options a visas agency can do, as they seem to be able to circumvent a lot of the requirements

      @johnforrest4373 if there is non-o visa for 179 that would be perfect but I haven't seen that yet. I would like to return to Canada every 6 months during Summer.
