Great review, looked like you really enjoyed yourself. I did this just 3 weeks ago from London to Plymouth and it was excellent! I am tempted to do the whole thing again! They used to do a breakfast service pre-covid, which I managed to do in 2018 and that was excellent, really wish they would bring that option back.
A very good video: from Australia, in two consecutive Septembers I've been on those IET or other GWR trainsets but not at Pullman Dining times. Well done and thank you for promoting rail travel. Superior to using one's car and way better than cramped, uncomfortable road coaches. Today I know of people using this PD experience so it'll be interesting to obtain their feedback. Very good that you pointed out the cost has increased. However £37 for two courses is still good value in the UK for this type of quite upmarket experience.
That food looks fantastic - perhaps the best on a UK mainline train! It shows they can produce something decent in those kitchens which means they “could” offer an LNER style hot food service to all FC passengers on all routes if they wanted to. 🤔
I did around 20 years ago, was amazing, my issue is I would need to travel to London to then travel elsewhere. However looked a lovely experience & meal.
I actually never knew gwr class 800 done this. This makes up for standard class seats (don’t try it) and it honestly makes up for the iconic class 43. Great video
@@TravelSoGood in standard long distance is really bad I mean we are talking class 700/387/377 iron board seats level. And yeah there are the best standard class seats I’ve ever been on so far has got to be transport for wales class 67 and dvt sets
Yes. I was just about to suggest that TfW service to Jessica. I think there's only one train Monday-Friday on that route which features the dining experience.
Sadly standard or ysual catering is just the trolley. If the sandwiches run out there's very little till a change of trolleys. What you had looked lovely.
GWR should do a service from Hull via Leeds and Manchester Victoria to Holyhead, as the current SailRail product offering needs a massive overhaul - they should also be working with ferry operators to do foot passenger only SailRail services from Liverpool (not Birkenhead) to Dublin, as an improved standard of service across the Irish Sea is much needed - I live in Manchester myself and I’ve been going home to family in Ireland on SailRail via Holyhead for 23 years of which the Irish Ferries Ulysses is my favourite ferry (especially the Club Class Lounge) but what drives me mad is changing trains at Chester, Crewe & Lladnuo on Transport for Wales, which trains do not call at Deansgate/Castlefield (for the Metrolink Trams) and where Platforms 13 and 14 at Manchester Piccadilly is totally unsuitable
Did the hostess say she had just sold the last coq au vin and yet there were only five people eating? Even if this accounts for an incoming or other/s services that appears poor organisation.
Yeah. I'm assuming it was because they were expecting a low turnout. I didn't include it in the video, but the hostess told me that only two people had pre-booked (me and one other) plus three walk-ups. So I guess it's better to under catering than to waste food 🤷♀️
Great UA-cam, Jessica. Your best video to date of UK rail 1st class.
You're too kind ☺️
Finally a reviewer who samples lots of different food options ! Loving these videos . Keep up the good work 😊
Oh wow, I think I found my new favourite channel! Love your review style! ❤
Oh wow, you're too kind ❤️
Love this series to bits! Excited to see what next week brings! :)
Yay, thank you! Glad you're enjoying it :)
Another amazing video, can’t wait for the next one!
Thanks!
Another trip added to our 'to do' list.
Another great video Jessica.
Thank you.
Just found your channel. This was so thorough--yet succinct--well done, and helpful. Just lovely. Thank you!
Excellent video. Your best so far. I think you really suit the premium experience. Thank you!
Wow, thank you! A girl certainly loves a bit of class :)
A great video Jessica. I never knew about this aspect of train travel in the UK.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Breakfast does sound great! Did they do toast? Very few trains do toast :(
@@TravelSoGood yes they did do toast, lots of it and even Welsh cakes (as I was on a Paddington to Swansea service!)
Excellent video. Lovely review and a charming host 😆😆
It was a lovely experience
This is one of those journeys where you come for tbe journey experience and not necessarily the destination. Nice video!! ♥️
Definitely!

I think the price is on-par with what you'd expect in a restaurant for this type of food. Thanks for watching!

They *COULD*. But only *IF* they wanted to. Which they don't
Comment for engagement!! Awesome the video ml 🎉
You're the best!
What a great service, on this route I'm guessing it passes through my closest station, Bristol Temple Meads?
That looked great! Jack fruit is lovely as part of a curry as well
Good idea! I'll have to try that
That Looked Amazing brilliant. Another brilliant video Thank you 😀👍🏿
Glad you enjoyed it!
I always wanted to take a ride on the GWR Pullman or Night Riviera. I have been on the Class 387, Class 800 and Class 802.
Do it! And go on a Friday :)
Your travel vlogs are awesome mam @Travel So Good
Aww, thanks!!
Perhaps you should try the 'Gerald of Wales' service from Cardiff to Holyhead in Business Class
Stay tuned... you may be pleasantly surprised!

It really was wonderful
Those staff were well friendly and the food looked lovely! I'm left wondering how you've managed to attach a camera to the luggage rack tho 😂
Haha! The secrets of film making 🤫
I actually never knew gwr class 800 done this. This makes up for standard class seats (don’t try it) and it honestly makes up for the iconic class 43. Great video
The standard seats are not too bad. There are certainly better out there though

Now try Transport for Wales' offering on the Cardiff - Holyhead route. And Eurostar.
Stay tuned. Maybe I have already? 🤔

Yes, one train each way from Cardiff to Holyhead, but about 4 or 5 (I think) between Cardiff and Manchester

I'm not sure why GWR would do this? They don't travel anywhere near those stations
I kind of feel you needed a fan and parasol in that carriage, very swanky!
Haha! It was all very posh
@@TravelSoGood I know! you had the music and everything!

its pronounced marquis
The knife is not a pen and the fork is not a shovel. Could you hold them properly😉
You should watch me holding chopsticks... you'd freak out!
