  • This was an awesome interaction that we wanted to share. This argument is near and dear to our hearts, because it's the core behind why we call ourselves abolitionists - we see ourselves as carrying the flag in today's expression of that movement. They said that abolitionism extended beyond slavery to all societal evils, so we're doing just that.

      Exactly! Everything is good and useful and makes sense until you pull back the layers to see who started the movement. Once you know the genesis and intention, but still believe abortion should be included in “women’s rights” and “women’s healthcare”…well now, you’re blatantly denying the facts of the matter.

      @@mister_dave1184 , right, there are babies who are disabled who can't walk. I think that's part of the point: the young woman in the video basically sets up two criteria: inability to walk and speak (for itself) as the reasons why it's okay to abort babies. But she fails to acknowledge there are millions of born humans who fail the same criteria. Do we therefore have the right to kill them all, and if not, then why not? She hasn't thought through her argument fully.

    My view on abortion changed during Anatomy & physiology class. On the first day of the unit on female anatomy, Obstetrics, Labor and delivery, there were 9 BIG glass jars on the counter behind my lab table. Each jar had a fetus of each monthly gestational age. There was no doubt in my pro-abortion mind that each jar contained a tiny human. At times during class I had the sensation that someone was watching me. When I turned around I found babies in jars. I realised that I could have been in one of those jars or one of those babies in the jar could have been sitting in my lab chair. Years later I discovered that I was 6 weeks pregnant. The form in the ultrasound image had a beating two chamber heart. It was like a rose bud that was not opened yet.

    • @michaeloxlong
      @michaeloxlong Рік тому

      That's why they use such dehumanizing language, and are so against ultrasounds before abortions. They NEED people to call it a fetus, a clump of cells, a parasite, or "my body" in order to shield folks from what is actually happening. If people said what it actually was; the killing of an unborn human child, the abortion industry would collapse and those pushing this evil practice would be exposed for the monsters they truly are.
      The slavery comparison is spot on. Calling a black person an animal, and calling an unborn child a parasite are so analogous that it hurts the brains of the brainwashed.

      I'll take the bait.
      How does slavery relate? There is no anatomical relationship between the slave and the slave owner. The slave owner will not suffer by freeing a slave.
      Couldn't we just swap the argument around and claim the woman is the slave? After all, this argument claims she MUST serve another "human being" without question. This means whether her health is at risk, her lifestyle is at risk, if she was raped, if her financial circumstances were impacted (including being unable to work while pregnant), she is provided zero choice but to be pregnant even if no support is provided.
      People claim "Abortion is okay if the mothers health is at risk", but ignore the fact that abortion needs to be legal for this to occur.
      The primary reason for abortion is to PROTECT a womans health or wellbeing. By denying them this procedure, you are going against the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
      It's not about "refusing to accept it", it's about understanding what is best for society. Recently a doctor was arrested for allowing a 10yr old girl to have an abortion from rape. I guess the child should be forced into pregnancy?
      Thats why I don't get pro-life, because I put the rights of functionally developed human beings first.

      @@eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee9531I think most people are driven by emotions and not by logic or facts. In my experience it works best to put a great deal of time and effort into making the person feel that you emotionally care about their upset feelings, that you respect them, and that you ultimately want to help them be a happier more fulfilled person. The logical arguments or statistics don’t take long. You simply present them and it’s immediately clear that they are true; this is why people are so quick to be reactive. The real work is in convincing people that you actually care about their feelings and respect them. Yes, in this situation they are promoting murder, but we are all imperfect people that have had wrong beliefs at one time or another, so we can still respect them at some level as fellow eternal souls that can be redeemed and could possibly become great forces for good. That being said, I think the probability of convincing pro-aborts that you care about and respect them (and therefore opening the door to changing their minds) after showing these signs that trigger them is probably nearly zero. I think prayer and personal long term relationships are the best bet of changing anyone’s mind. Part of the reason I have concluded this is because of my experience with street evangelism and my ongoing efforts to change the minds of people in my immediate family regarding abortion and regarding Christianity. I’m not trying to criticize the people on this channel. It’s very difficult to do this type of stuff and they are accomplishing the great work of spreading awareness online about the concept of abolition vs pro-life. If they are changing people’s minds, my guess is it’s probably mostly people that were on the fence, hadn’t really thought about it much, or there was a longer behind the scenes process of working with people.

      Patience is a virtue, buddy. Didn't your mother ever tell you that? How about catching more flies with honey than vinegar? These activists don't know it, and you may not either, but by their own agency, they'll destroy their own arguments, and their own movements, and societies, as long as you let them. They're Neo-Marxist pawns. They can't NOT do that by vice of their own ideology, which has never worked anywhere, for many good reasons.
      I'm happy to explain further, but you don't even need to know those reasons to get the Woke to start self-detonating. You can even deprogram them, and I'll explain that if you wish. Just finished writing a post about it if you don't mind copy/paste. Deprogramming takes time, patience, and knowing a little about what you're doing and what you're facing. Not a lot of people have time for that. But if you ever get the chance, merely standing in the way of these drones is enough to bring out what passes for "thoughts" among them. After all, they are indoctrinated into being activists, so even if you do almost nothing but tolerate them, they will broadcast every bit of stupid they are for everyone to see.

The entire purpose of the woman repeatedly defaulting to that is because she can’t come up with anything better to refute what you’re saying. The fact that she kept interrupting you every time you started to explain your point of view and was so closed minded that she even insisted on talking over you while you were talking to other people because she only wanted them to listen to her viewpoint was infuriating.
