- Welcome to Falls Lake! I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina recently and Falls Lake is now my "home lake". You guys will likely start seeing a lot more videos from me here.
I fished a small club tournament in this video with the Pitt County Bassmasters. Tag along and see how I caught them.

Bass used to school by the acres 2-3 lbers fish top water all day,after hurricane Fran that was over idk all the stripers gone to,back in the day fishing was so good ,falls used to be not in North Carolina not anymore I lived on falls my whole life it sucks now, restock people speak out about it.when I fished tournaments fishhad to be over 16 inches now they weigh these little 12-14 inches because that's mostly all anyone catches,sure in spring few guys weigh in good fish,majority don't ask any Ole timer
LOL I recognized every spot you fished. I live by ledge Rock ramp and have fished this lake since the early 90's. I have a love/hate relationship with this lake. Most of my super honey holes were discovered by dudes when side find came out so I always look for spots within spots.
Sad I had to miss this one. Was getting that Pro XS installed. We move end of May to North Raleigh.

An exciting time for the young Lady Angler I'm sure. Congrats on the Move. Hope you really enjoy your new home and area. I'm a little jealous, Falls Lake of the Neuse River looks amazing. Much more pretty than Gaston which I'm closest to. Don't like Gaston too much , but I can't drive very far anymore or I'd be driving down to Falls. I did happen to catch my PB spotted bass on a Shaky Head a few weeks back just over 4. I guess that's a big spot ? They sure do have a rougher mouth than LMs. Was the first time I had rigged the Shaky Head in about 10 years. Great video thanks! Would you consider dropping us some nuggets about Gaston?
Great video, Glad to have you and your family as new neighbors. I have spent a lot of summers on Falls Lake. I remember when they built the dam and created it.

I fished a few tournaments in my day at falls wink😜. Here’s a free tip. Thank me later . Our lakes are stocked with Northern Strain Bass. Always keep that in mind when patterning.. welcome u will catch the fish of a lifetime here!!
Im in Oxford Nc falls lake is like 16 mins away I never have any bites I’ll try again after seeing this
Lot of structure in falls it was built that way I fish falls .good all year lake
U should have been here 80,s 90,s me an a buddy caught 25 bass 5-6 lb a piece off same spot one day,used to be slam full giants back in the day,16-18 inch was average,u doing good as tuff as falls is these days

The Roanoke is a big bass factory. You’ll have a great time. Had a lot of rain today. That will effect things up the river. The current will likely be a bit stronger for a few days.

I’ve found that males usually pee a lot like that during the spawn, my idea is that when they flash they’re mouth open at bluegill or pulling stuff off the bed etc. I think they inadvertently open their gullet and inhale a little water and when ya pull em out they aren’t weightless in the water anymore and more pressure is put on their bladder from us holdin em so they start peein a lot. I’ve never noticed a big female peeing like that, I’m pretty sure it’s just the males guarding the bed

I don’t think it’s pee. I believe that how the males fertilize the females eggs. But I could be wrong.
I fished off shore bought everything I go deep ,cranking an all the other of shore baits ,not giving away any secrets all I can do to catch a fish,I guess it's come to fitness fishing like this guy,I'm just as goid shallow as deep,u right bro if u fitness u one of the few an seem to be doing good,dang I might have to try most days power fishing is dead specially in summer saw fish ozone spot of 8 spots I graphed threw mostly power baits it was loaded after 45 min majority of fish dispersed I found some but would not bite dang I was hoping I don't have to drop shot next month everybody on lake be doing bro u should have kept that to yourself
Falls lake has some big fish. Points and drop offs 👍 any day you catch something is a good day keep ripping lips
I fished back in the mid 90's in a local Randolph County Bassmaster's Club, we had 2 men pre boat teams as to help with the cost for supplies and bigger pots, around Oct - Nov was our 2 Day tournament, always meet up on Friday night to pull first Lake = Falls = was in 4th place Day One on Saturday, Guy comes in with 11pound 1 oz big fish pot = pulled 2nd Lake at Falls = Badin on Sunday = Had fish = 1st place overall 1996. my last tournament as we placed 1st four times that year, as my Partner and Master passed away around 97, fished about all the Lakes but Randleman Lake (2 miles) from where I live, it didn't exist back then, Harris and Jordon , I like better on that side of the State, Big bass that I have seen back then came from Lake Lucas City lake in Asheboro, about 1000a lake with 15hp limit at all times, 14 plus was common back in around 94 -95 era and next state record was said to be their back then, as it already had the state Crappie record then from the 80's and at the same time Harris was put out big fish,
High Rock was the Bass Masters big daddy because of Greensboro's Event Center, David Fritts was from High Rock area as Crank Bait King back then, Yakin River, Highrock chain has 4 major Lakes that are all great lakes and offer different land types, Badin was said to be built in the 1930's, welcome to the area!

Dang I caught 25 over 5 one day back in the day off one point me in my buddy in summertime I think that was in the 90,s my friend can't a 11.15 in spring 1990 he mounted that one we didn't no better but we both have released several over 10 lbs his biggest 13 lbs an mine 14 + in private pond his was at lake Johnson in raleigh,Raleigh, sucks try it
They prolly ain't never see a drop shot lmao,I'm bought ready to fish it myself,power fishermen here but I catch my share on this high pressured lake ,Noone manages the lake ,it fends for itself,400 bass shocked up 2021 only 15 percent over 18 not good compared to yrs past ,alot were over 14 inches ,dang I used to catch that many in a week even in 2010-2011 wat happened dang,people take care of the lake catch & release make falls lake great again
Give that drop shot a try. Rig up a 4 inch worm and just be patient. 👍🏻

I feel very sorry for anyone that moved to Raleigh due to fishing……those 3 lakes are the 3 most over pressures lakes in the state and they all suck compared to days gone past.
I’ve heard this recently actually and you aren’t alone in your opinion. I keep hearing about the “good ol days” on Falls Lake. Maybe those days will come back eventually.
I agree with u 100% I been on falls since they cleared trees an started rising water,nothing like back in the day,100 fish days over,an giants was a regular thing,catch & release allways,do u think the bass are in there lol I got 35 yrs on a bass boat an I can't hardly catch a dang bass,is it fishing presure or fish eaters ,both I think
The only way the good old days is comeing back is for everyone to complain to wild life the shock boat guys I been complaining 3 yrs ,we need to stand together,donate $$ to stock with 1-2 lbers,wild life thing lake good may be shocking try fishing fished falls lake all my life last 3 times I went this fall not a bite dead sea it sucks,it was great back in the day 30-100 bass a day used to go everyday after work need to raise slot to 16 inches like back in the day,fish eaters don't usually catch any that big,if u no u no
@@randolphray7896 all you gotta do is look at any bank access near a road on any given evening. you'll see a lot of "newcomers" fishing and drinking. thats where all the fish have gone.

I haven't seen u post anymore vidios u still glad u moved here to fish it,it was great back I the day,land of giants days like u had used to be everyday thing all times of yr,I been fishing it when first starting flooding ,it was full of cover,tear your mess up back then giants one after other,I call it the dead sea most of the time,I don't have live scope but I been fishing deep offshore structure sinc1988 I go from one end to other,have u seen how it sucks or u catching them regular using live scope,wild life people say lake doing great obviously they shock bass not fish,my opion alone is not going to get anything done if u agree with me tell wild life ,I personally would donate to restock 1-2 lb bass and if the fish eaters don't keep them all might be great again,would anyone else donate,wildlife said mother nature does better restock than they could ,I said don't stock fingerlings stock 1-2 lbers,they stock in early 80,s eaters on bank filling up 5 gal buckets if I had cell back then I would have called warden,lake was full of giant river bass I didn't no until like 80-82,I think most people think falls is great if u no u no if u don't u don't, usedvto be 30-100 bass a day mostly over 16,they need to raise slot to 16-18 inches these tournments weighing in 10-12 inch bass I use lures allmost that big lmao,when I fished tournments in 90,s it was 16 inch slot fishing a 1000 times better back then ban together guys let's do something,unless u like fishing all day for a few bites

The Chowan River in edenton is a big fish factory. You’ll enjoy fishing there and the Roanoke.

I live in Raleigh, and fish falls often. I hardly ever catch anything. I would like to know what I am doing wrong. My son and I throw everything at them.

Congrats on the move and an awesome day with your daughter. The smile is priceless, wish my kids took up such interest. They're married and moved on. Maybe my grandkids - LOL. Check out my channel, I'm quite the opposite my best days are during the spawn. Recently posted some footage on Shearon Harris, had 3 solid days and one with a 20lb bag. Not to start a flame war, but keeping that ~5lb female you caught at @11:00 - isn't that just like shooting ourselves in the foot? (Coming from a fellow Falls Lake fisherman) I always thought you're supposed to return spawning females to the water, ASAP. I understand this was a tournament, but it seems to me like tournament rules should be to return the females and/or take a photo of the fish length and weight, and return ASAP. As others have noted, bass fishing at Falls lake is nowhere nearly as good as it was when I was growing up in the 70s and 80s here in Raleigh.
Bro I haven't seen any new vidios from u what u think of falls lake now after fishing it for a yr,i been fishing falls lake since they cleared the trees used to catch big bass every where 3-4 lb average foot balls,moved away 2010 came back 2020 last 3 yrs sucked,last spring worst I ever had,bass use to stack up stage spring move deep in summer fish on same structure for 35 yrs now if their in the lake they get picked of one by one,no management no stocking,wild life says lake fends for itself,I no dam well the majority of people fishing ain't catching nothing most times,I'll all for live scope active target even though I don't have it,I don't see anyone fishing anything new that I don't no about ,90% fishing 10% catching if anybody thinks fishing at falls lake is great u don't no wat great is,it used to be back in the day,u still here or did u move again when u found out how falls lake sucks,I wonder if there's many bass in there I don't see schools anymore wat u guys think,Noone comments on wat I say so I guess yall think fishing good,along as everyone thinks it's good wild life want do shit to make it better,I'd like to see it good again tired of fishing for 0 to 5 bites on a goid day,I fish one end to the other up the river shallow offshore structure,been fishing off shore since 1988 when 99% were bank beaters
I actually haven’t been on falls since February. I travel a lot fishing tournaments at other locations and Falls just hasn’t been on my schedule lately. However I do try and keep tabs on the place and from my understanding they’re on the ledges good right now. I’ll get back out there later this summer. 👍🏻
Another day on falls lake 1 bite 3hrs 12 inch bass,used to wear em out this time of yr for 40yrs now falls sucks ,people who want on falls for yrs think it's transition I think people are eating bass alot more these days,grocery high but boats an fishing equipment an lures alot more exspensive,catch & release guys unless u just like casting for nothing
Catch and release all these years is what has trashed falls for fishing.
Falls lake was known for big fish 5 fish 30lb but rarely now,I used to catch 5 fish weigh 25-35 lbs every spring for I used to crank motor,look up Harris 46 lb 2017 but now the grass is gone that's not happen they ruined that lake to,killing the grass pressure fish eaters all of that played a role in wat we catch today,wake up guys u fish eaters go to food lion an release the bass u dum .u did Allright in the vidio to be new to falls it's always tuff these days now everyone fishing the river with GPS an all I been up there since 87,get stuck hit stumps now can't hardly catch fish up there either,I give up
