I meant to say taxis in Okap aren’t as bad as taxis in Port-au-Prince. Okap taxis are pretty nice actually.

You should try to buy a piece of land in a nice area like Laboule, Thomassin, Pelerin or Fermathe and build your own house. That’s what I did and my house is at 70% of completion and I’m moving back next month.

You are so right. I had the same experience when I moved back to Haiti, in 2016, after living abroad for 11 years. I found unexpectedly that the cost of living was almost 3 fold that in the U.S. Groceries prices in the supermakets were astonishingly 3 times higher.... But I had decided to live in Haiti, so I am here to stay....

I want to visit Haiti , however, my Haitian friends that live in the DR advise against Americans visiting right now due to the political situation etc. In the future would you make a video addressing Haiti and Tourism for Americans. Please put the timestamp when I said you don’t pay security deposit & a month in advance in the States. I’d love to hear when I said that. The difference in Haiti is that we have to pay the “realtor” that helped find the apartment a months rent. That money doesn’t go to the landlord. I grew up in Maryland & in Maryland you don’t need anyone to help you find an apartment. You go on the apts website & everything is done directly with the apartment. Whatever deposit, rent, fees, etc you pay goes to the apt/management. Not a “realtor” that helped you find the apartment.

I want to move back to Haiti. I graduated as a pre-med major and clinical lab scientist. Straight A student but still refused a job. Went to the military where I was reminded of some people's opinion of Haiti being a shit hole country. Worked as a Substitute Science Teacher for the county where I made 10.00$ sometimes just 200 bucks for months. Worked at a Christian school as a Science Teacher for 12.00 $. So I have been economically, socially, and physically stalked and harassed. I tried to leave the area but noticed the same condescending stalking patterns wherever I went. New York, Chicago, Kansas, St. Augustine, Miami, West Palm. So I am ready to move out of the country. Economically constrained....... but do you know of any entry level positions for a person in my situation I could apply for? I was thinking about just doing a "small selling market".

How to add them as a subtitle is another question 😊 The transcripts option are in the description box once you post the video. You can even ask chatGPT to remove the timestamp when you translate or simply keep them if they’re necessary for placement in the video.

Sak pase! You're from the north, why do you live in PAP? Is it because of your job? I would think you would go to live in Okap. People over there are nicer and you wouldn't have to pay that much money in rent. My best advice to you is try to buy a land in Okap not PAP somewhere close to Labadie or Bellaire which where i got mine you can also buy in Carenage close to Rival or something. Do not buy land in PAP i repeat do not buy any land there people over are too crooked.

Didn't you say your husband from there as well? that's even better.
