I love how you did not compromise your lifestyle and how you lived just becauseyou moved to Haiti. I just pray one day more Haitians will have access to this lifestyle 🙏
Continue making your videos and showing a different side of haiti 🇭🇹. During my visit I wasn't aware how much haiti had to offer. Don't stop your videos
You should try to buy a piece of land in a nice area like Laboule, Thomassin, Pelerin or Fermathe and build your own house. That’s what I did and my house is at 70% of completion and I’m moving back next month.
You are so right. I had the same experience when I moved back to Haiti, in 2016, after living abroad for 11 years. I found unexpectedly that the cost of living was almost 3 fold that in the U.S. Groceries prices in the supermakets were astonishingly 3 times higher.... But I had decided to live in Haiti, so I am here to stay....
I love your videos !! I am an American and I visit the Dominican Republic several times per year. I want to visit Haiti , however, my Haitian friends that live in the DR advise against Americans visiting right now due to the political situation etc. In the future would you make a video addressing Haiti and Tourism for Americans. I am told that Cap Haitien is safe and a great place to visit.
Haiti is the Caribbean destination for sure, but right now things are very unstable there. I would suggest you to wait for any change, and you won't regret it.
I love how you broke it down for us to learn. I wish you can communicate with in clubhouse or any social media so we can engage by asking questions. You have done a wonderful job and I am so proud of you.
Hi Rutty, you are doing such an amazing job showing another side of Haiti. It takes a lot of guts and courage to move back to Haiti having lived in the states for so many years. You are making Haiti great again.
I Love and appreciate your videos. I shared your videos with my parents and they really appreciate how you allow people to see the positive side of our country. Thank you!!!
Best thing to do for the food part is to buy food from the US and ship them to Haiti (cereal, rice, beans, sugar etc), that’s what my mom does and we’re from cap Haitien.
Wow! I appreciate how you explained your experience in detail. I’ve watched some of your other videos you seem to have a comfortable and beautiful lifestyle. I’ve only gone back a few times, I just remembered the peace I had I felt so at home. Thank you I will continue to watch you and look forward to the series. I love what you are doing 🙏🏿
I fell in love with your videos 3 months ago. I'm thinking of moving to Haiti as well. But I want to build my own place first and not in the capital. Keep those videos coming
Ruth, How’re you doing? Been reading a lot about Haiti lately and I chanced on this video. Just wanted to check on you. I pretty wild out there currently. Stay safe and prayed up🙏🏾
There's peace in Haiti and a lots of it just don't go live in the Capitol as a matter of fact don't live in the west side period. You go to the north side like Cap-haitian you're not going want to leave Haiti. Trust me! Even though you hear all these chaos going on in Haiti not the northern part.
Haiti has 10 departments. Most of what you see in the news is mainly in one area. Imagine the news only showing the dangerous parts of the States. You would think the entire USA was dangerous smh.
@@ruttyb it's funny because that's what people think about the US abroad, because all they hear about is police brutality, racism, and gunshots. They are terrified to come to the US.
Please put the timestamp when I said you don’t pay security deposit & a month in advance in the States. I’d love to hear when I said that. The difference in Haiti is that we have to pay the “realtor” that helped find the apartment a months rent. That money doesn’t go to the landlord. I grew up in Maryland & in Maryland you don’t need anyone to help you find an apartment. You go on the apts website & everything is done directly with the apartment. Whatever deposit, rent, fees, etc you pay goes to the apt/management. Not a “realtor” that helped you find the apartment.
I want to move back to Haiti. I graduated as a pre-med major and clinical lab scientist. Straight A student but still refused a job. Went to the military where I was reminded of some people's opinion of Haiti being a shit hole country. Worked as a Substitute Science Teacher for the county where I made 10.00$ sometimes just 200 bucks for months. Worked at a Christian school as a Science Teacher for 12.00 $. So I have been economically, socially, and physically stalked and harassed. I tried to leave the area but noticed the same condescending stalking patterns wherever I went. New York, Chicago, Kansas, St. Augustine, Miami, West Palm. So I am ready to move out of the country. Economically constrained....... but do you know of any entry level positions for a person in my situation I could apply for? I was thinking about just doing a "small selling market".
I would love to move to Haiti! My parents were both born there and have never gone back. I was born in the US and only visited once (barely saw anything because they were so scared for me to leave the hotel). What tips would you give me to get started with my move other than finding a job and apartment?

Hi Rutty, in the transcript you can copy the captions in English then paste them in chatGPT and it will translate them in perfect Creole grammar for you. How to add them as a subtitle is another question 😊 The transcripts option are in the description box once you post the video. You can even ask chatGPT to remove the timestamp when you translate or simply keep them if they’re necessary for placement in the video.
Nah sis here in the state you do pay one full month real estate fee and also first month rent and deposit as of right now in the state to move in to apartment you need at least $10,000
I grew up in Maryland so that’s what I’m comparing it to. I also rented apartments in the places I’ve gone to school (Hampton, VA and Washington DC). Every places I’ve rented I was able to look it up online, call them, and fill out an application. I did not need a realtor to show me the place & pay them 1 months rent. I paid all the deposits & everything else directly to the apartment.
@@annepierre9459 Yeah I’ve seen that on different shows based in NY & it’s super expensive. The apt prices in Haiti might seem super cheap to a New Yorker. But people from other States might be shocked. Next time I’ll mention that so people know my opinions are based on the DMV area.
Ruth, I don't want to get into your personal business but I have heard and you know what's I'm talking about. They say that it's hard to dins jobs.
