    The soul of Haiti is what we grew up with in the 70s 80s and 90s. There is a battle for the soul of this nation. Our culture, hospitality, warmth and values are embedded in our fabric. This is EXACTLY who we are as a people. Others have never captured the essence of the Haitian story like African Tigress. THANK YOU for showing 🇭🇹 heart to the world.

    African Tigress, you probably don’t realize it but you made Haytian and Kenyan history. You will be remembered for this as you are the only Kenyan to venture out into Hayti and show the positive side of Hayti while integrating yourself into the Haytian culture. The hospitality that you received is due to you showing Hayti in a better light. We, the Haytian people, appreciate everything you are doing! 🇭🇹🇰🇪

    I was thinking if I was living in Haiti I would have given you the same accommodation in my house. The love and respect you show for people’s culture is top notch. You deserve it and much more. You’re going against the status quo and show Haiti for what it really is.
    I know I’m going off topic here, but I love history. In the Haitian constitution of 1805 there was a clause dedicated to runaway slaves. It was stipulated that any slave who set foot on Haiti’s shores would automatically become free. The Republic was ready and willing to use its army and resources to protect that freedom. Haiti may have been impoverished, but the sense of hospitality remains inside every Haitian.
    My sincere thanks to you as well as the owner and management of Villa Netus for safeguarding the ideals of the Ancestors. ❤

      @ketsiadorce8445 6 місяців тому +6

      Yes!! The British decided to put that to the test when a group of slaves mutinied and took one of their vessels to Haiti. The Brits wrote to President Petion that they would be coming to Haiti to retrieve their property. Upon arrival, the ship was returned to them. When they asked about the remainder of their "property," President Petion told them that the only property they have is the ship. The Africans that were on board are now full Haitian citizens, with all the rights accorded to such. They had no choice but to tuck their tails between their legs, take their ship and go home. VIVE HAITI!!!

    When things are back to normal, you should organize a group tour during one of Haiti's holydays or carnival season- It would make a wonderful video diary. A group of us, Haitians, Jamaicans, Bajan, Bahamians, Trinidadians, Kenyans, and other Africans, in a convoy of 2 or 3 minivans, and you can retrace your journey. Maybe it can become a yearly thing, and the group could go to other Caribbean and African destinations.
    It would be our thing, a brotherhood of Africans, with their Tigress.

      Many Europeans have something I like to call "The god Mentality" and to play god, one must pretend that nothing was working- so they zoom into every problem and use the bad image to raise money while at the same time showcasing how benevolent they are.

    Thanks!
    Thank you for taking the time to talk about the generosity of Haitian culture. Unfortunately, the colonizers have spent centuries spreading lies, misinformation to other black people about Haiti and Haitians and it seems like many of our black brothers believe those nonsense they say about Haitian. Haitian people have always been very generous, specially to other black people in the Caribbean and Africa. In the 1800s Haiti pays millions of dollars to free black people in the USA and Caribbean nations; Haiti was the only place that slaveowners could not claim a black person if the person reaches the shore of Haiti; Haitians were willing to fight and die to protect any black person who reach their shore. Haiti risks wars with many European powers by stopping slave ships that were coming from African to the Caribbean and freed the slaves on those ships. Many Haitians travelled to the USA as educators when black Americans gained their freedom. Haiti also sent many doctors and teachers to Africa when many African countries were gaining their independence. I personally experience Haitians generosity as a young child, living in port-au -prince…going to houses of stranger, eating, drinking, and not being kicked out. I am sure many Haitians who grew up in Haiti have experienced this, going to random parties wherever, eat, drink with total stranger without any fear. Now some bad actors have decided to put guns in the hands of poor inner city young man to spread terror in Port-Au -Prince and give this image that Haiti is hell on earth. but every Haitians know no matter what the challenges are, one way or another no matter how long it takes, together we will overcome it. Just watch.

      Thank you so much for these unbelievable facts! I have been watching African Tigress for a long time, and I always have something spiritual that connects me with this wonderful lady! She is smart, empathetic, charismatic, creative, respectful, beautiful and above all loving! Another fact that worth mentioning as well, in Haiti there are descendants of Polish in Cazale and Fond-des -Blancs where my late mother was born. Napoleon Bonaparte went to Poland to get soldiers to fight the Haitians. At that time, the president of Poland emptied out his Jails and gave over 2000 prisoners to France to go fight in Haiti. Upon their arrivals in Haiti, the Polish soldiers were disillusioned and asked Dessalines to join the Haitian army so they could defeat the French. They did not want to go back to France, and Dessalines gave them Haitian citizenship, properties, food and housing. There was a group of Polish descendants that came to the airport to receive pope John Paul the II in 1983 when he visited Haiti. Haitians are always hospitable, kind and loving. The Polish soldiers said why should we fought these Haitians that are trying to gain their freedom. They were empathetic towards the slaves and joined Dessalines to defeat Napoleon’s army! Thanks for taking care of our African Tigress! Thanks for your generosity!! Africa, Haiti and all the Caribbean countries, ONE LOVE!!

    The guesthouse is very homely...Best wishes to the owners for having you as a guest. I would love to hear the business community's perspective on challenges that they are facing currently in Haiti...I do not think that such a discussion is negative in any way.
