I've been trying out Milwaukee's new remote control utility search light and have not been disappointed! Pretty sure I could project the bat signal with this thing. 🦇😏
Greetings brother lineman, from me and my family all the way from Flagstaff Arizona USA. Thank you for the review I need a light just like that for those dark desert nights. Lol I have the same exact old beat up spot light on my bucket truck also I'm amazed yours still moves mine stoped 6 months ago 😅. Be safe brother 🙏
We've been using various Milwaukee LED worklights and flashlights for years. Nice thing too, their LEDs are very high quality and colors look right like halogen. This is important for electricians needing to see colors correctly! 🙂
Seems like a decent lighting accessory. The only thing I'd be curious about is how long that battery might last if it was stored in the toolbox for a few weeks in below zero weather. Of course, that's a problem with most any battery and even a cell phone needs to be inside your jacket just to maintain some battery life.
The home function would be nice. We use Go Light's mounted on the headache racks of our county trucks. You can't tell what position they are in from inside the truck. Always worried I'm going to blind a motorist when I turn it on.
Quality light, but a tad rich for my game. I'd like one I can bolt to the truck and power off of the onboard 12v or 120v system (I run 5100WH of LiFePo4 on my truck with solar and a 100A alternator charging). That being said, I like everything about this light but the $1150 us price tag. Thanks for a great review, I don't know as I'd bother fooling with a new light in -25. Stay safe (and warm) out there!
You can buy the light on it's own and power it from 12V he shows that in the video. Plus he says in the video that it's cheaper without the base or battery included. Perhaps it may be still in your range to look at it. Have a good day
Sure glad I am retired now and don't have to search for house numbers in Winter doing no heat furnace calls in -35 to -40 C with a 30 mph wind weather at 1 AM with the old plug the searchlight into the cigarette lighter lamp I had. I am a big Milwaukee and Makita fan and if you have the money they have the funny ( high quality tools ). Great Video and keep up the good work.
Hello sir , I have been following your channel for about a year or two but down here in Miami Florida the only snow we see is when open the fridge lol but I’m a Milwaukee fan for years they don’t sell that in my area I don’t why I’ve seen them an email and I’m still waiting , will be nice for night fishing ! Awesome sir stay cool 😎
Great Review PG&E Here in California is starting to switch to a similar light installed by their truck outfitter! I have covered a few Vehicle vs Pole scenes and can see a big difference. Technically improvements always benefit you first responders and that's good for safety sake! Have a safe rest of the winter sir James from Sacramento California
The handheld streamlight is a very nice light.....curious have you looked at or own Milwaukees m18 searchlight and if so have you compared it to your current streamlight handheld?
I got a 12.0 with the updated 7.5" circular saw two years ago. For free. Not a problem. It's big great to light up an area on a pole or a splice kit for a 37/14awg. or a 61c/14awg cable. we have some 4c/4awg, 2c/4awg. and now 4c/ 1/0 ought. Here in the states. NYC.
Its definitely a nice light seems like it might be to bright for some applications for my eyes but Milwaukee has come a long way i have alot of there electrical tools like the bandsaws, drills, crimpers, ko punch, hammer drills and i have no complaints. Thanks bud we appreciate the content. God Bless
So far so good! Just went through a wicked couple of storms last month and talked about it a bit in some footage...I'll be sure to mention it now that I've been using it for over a year
Great review Aaron. Just outfitted a new “bread van” with all Milwaukee tools. Everything is awesome. We ordered a smaller LED light, magnetic base, to use inside a breaker cabinet. So bright. 👊🏻
Ooo i need to get this. The hand held milwaukee light works better than the streamlight also but it would be great to have something like this to work storm at night or at anytime we work in the dark.
About the remote: what happens when there is more than one light in range? E.g. Each truck at a job could have a light, or you could have an additional light on the bucket.
If you happen to have two or more lights on the same vehicle or two vehicles with two lights will the remotes interfere with each other or are the remotes programmable to specific lights
Hey im hoping someone could shed some light. How are single phase transformer secondaries' center tap grounded (once bonded; neutral) actually bonded to earth? Why can you bond one terminal of the secondary without high resistance and thus a short? Is there a resistor between center tap neutral and bond of single phase? Or is there some sort of work being done (is this why transformers heat up, (as well as eddy currents causing heat)) Why is there no ground fault between your center tap (which is an ungrounded hot conductor until it is bonded to earth?) and earth? There is no relation until it is bonded so is this why? Is it because the easiest path is still to the transformer secondary, rather than to ground, and thus not allowing the breaker to sense the current, causing a short? Is neutral technically a hot conductor, just at ground potential?
If it’s only battery operated I wonder how the batteries will be in the cold. When I work with my Milwaukee tools and it’s cold out the batteries say full charged but they die pretty fast and easy.
The Go Lights (non led) mounted on our line trucks are nowhere near as bright as that.. I’m gonna have to get our vendor to get a couple of these. The price tag is a bit insane to be honest, but Milwaukee knows they are catering to large companies with this one.
That would be pretty sweet. Back in the day we had a verrrrry long extension cord for drilling steel poles and towers. That or a gas drill with a Uni bit 🤦♂️.
@@Bobsdecline "Fluid Film" works well also. I use in snow blower auger and shoot and snow does not stick and on the mechanism on my electric running boards where it prevents Ice formation.. It is not petroleum based so has less effect on plastics and seals.
I wouldn't use a food grade oil, because it will go rancid and become sticky over time. It's fine for pre-treating your snow shovels though. Fluid Film is a great choice. Boeshield T-9 would also be a good option if you happen to have it.
Again not a lineman but find this entertaining and very educational. As you mentioned previously where you got the name from, just wondering if you’ve seen the specials playing with Tim Armstrong and the interrupters? Jessie Michaels joins band for a one off op ivy song. Just something cool to watch for a blast from the past
The particular product I received as a trial, but with no compensation or sponsorship. We did however also purchase some other units. The tag at the start of the video is in place just to cover that grey area. (Where this specific unit is a trial) Most battery tools we buy for our fleet now are Milwaukee... When new products come out specific for our trade Milwaukee is extremely diligent in receiving feedback from its users and often monitors online content/comments. Any major issues are often corrected or altered within its design as a result. 🙌
@@Bobsdecline gotcha thanks. i'm a makita guy but milwaukee has really been kicking their butts in power, battery life, and product line in the last 5 years or so. not enough that i'd consider switching... but there's definitely some tool envy.
1st off why would buy such a thing to put on a big corporations work truck. Eqipment an tools are the responsibility of the corporation. 2nd. Installing eqipment on corporations eqipment is a huge no no. Hell I got in shit for putting a couple hard wires led work lights on my company 1 ton welding truck. Being I'd be 30 to 50 miles from the paper Mills logging camp working on company eqipment in 40 to 50 below night shift welding by my self. Yes the company truck had helgen work lights on it but them supper hot lights would alway burn out from bouncing down skid roads. Bulldozed winter roads over frozen swamps. They were led work lights from the company camp shop tool an supply crib. But I didnt clear it with camp Forman. I charged 3 lights out to the numbered company truck.
I've been trying out Milwaukee's new remote control utility search light and have not been disappointed! Pretty sure I could project the bat signal with this thing. 🦇😏
Nice. And for $1150, it ought to be!
You should totally cut a bat symbol out of cardboard and stick it on the front of the light.

You blew my mind with the demo in the snow ! I'm down here in Texas and man you did a great demo and I'm ordering mine today thanks man!
Awesome! It's night and day compared to my old light. Almost literally! 😏
Wow that’s insane, as soon as you turned on the miluakee the comparison was over, I can’t believe they can make a light that bright.
One of the first things I remember learning is that the two things that burn up batteries the fastest are lights and motors :-)
"The review is done" got a chuckle out of me this morning!
🤣
Milwaukee is intense. they take they're job seriously. Good job Aaron.

Golight Has an on-command home function on the Stryker product line.
We’ve started to convert to these at work!! A few of them showed up last week! Installing today!
Oh nice! Let me know how Yas make out!
@@Bobsdecline Probably gonna be using them tomorrow!!
Dammmmn that thing is bright!!!! I like how fast it moves too so you’re not waiting long for it to move where you need
Need to show everyone how great this is for shining deer! 👍🏼
By far the best video on this product that's out right now.

The light alone is ~700$US. (still highly over priced for what it is, but not for the people who would need it.)

Pretty cool Aaron - The best from Milwaukee!
You can try to add a duck tape skirt to help cover that rotation joint. ?
That’s the coolest thing I have seen in a long time. On my way to buy one
Wow. that is some snowfall. Nice light, too. :-)
Excellent review. Watching from Washington state
Have you seen/used the Milwaukee bucket light?
The interior of the truck is warm, right? How about arranging for a little of that warm air to leak up under the light mount?
Get a clear acrylic dome and put on top of the whole entire light. That should keep the snow and ice from getting into it
When looking for a burnt bridge or a broken wire, good lighting is the basis for work at night.
Ooo i need to get this. The hand held milwaukee light works better than the streamlight also but it would be great to have something like this to work storm at night or at anytime we work in the dark.
itd be nice if they came with a cover for the hood mount to protect it from snow and ice while not in use
5 gallon bucket lol
What was that other Milwaukee thing in the background? Sort of looks like a laser level tripod or something.
Aaron just curious. Do you have to buy this or does your company get this for you?
That is a sweet light! looks awesome !
About the remote: what happens when there is more than one light in range? E.g. Each truck at a job could have a light, or you could have an additional light on the bucket.
Nice light! T/M’s are tryin them out now. So Cal
That's a bright one .like you can use it two different ways thanks for the video on this light young man 😎
The 12.0AH batteries are great, they work well with the table saw, and they run the other Milwaukee lights for eons
Awesome light, wish DeWalt would make one similar.
13:20 looks like a good one.
Awesome new light!
If you happen to have two or more lights on the same vehicle or two vehicles with two lights will the remotes interfere with each other or are the remotes programmable to specific lights
I know this is an older video but if you still have that old light take a grinder to that bolt. Nice review
It's still on my shelf, but the Milwaukee is holding strong so far!
I wonder how it would compare to the led go light

I wish we could get that in the UK...maybe they'll make it available one day 😢
I could have sworn that I have seen that lamp mounted and being used in a previous video.
It's possible! I've had it mounted for about a month now. Also I released a quick "short" video on it
great video !!
Cold and plastic...might make the plastic brittle, easy to shatter. I'd spray a little liquid deicer before using.
Should be easy to make a cover for the light when truck is sitting there in winter. Then you can just remove that as you move out or something.
I like my go light, don’t have to worry about a battery
You could shave down the head of the bolt on your old light so the light doesnt hit it… or replace the bolt with one that had a shorter head.
If it’s only battery operated I wonder how the batteries will be in the cold. When I work with my Milwaukee tools and it’s cold out the batteries say full charged but they die pretty fast and easy.
When using the hood mount it is powered by the vehicle's electrical system.
@@eDoc2020 that makes more sense!! Thought maybe it was battery so you didn’t have to tap into the electrical system and do all that.
great video. we need more shorts too.

$1150 Too pricey for me! But diffidently bright! In Northern California near the Oregon boarder.

i hope you can get spare remotes for it though!!!!!!!!!!

*Drools in flashlight envy
We have the same battery in the magnetic drill
That would be pretty sweet. Back in the day we had a verrrrry long extension cord for drilling steel poles and towers. That or a gas drill with a Uni bit 🤦♂️.
