I decided to build one yesterday, saw your video and I'm following along, lots of trial, error and troubleshooting but just got mine working! HUGE thank you, can't wait to build the rest with you!
The 16 foundations you have for the selector you can make on 4 instead, you have 4 belts of the 4 corners comming out, only need to check once per shape and maybe once more before it goes into the factory to delete from previous run
honestly, i liked the "make anything machine, as long as what you want is an unpainted circle" hehe. looking forward to bingeing this series today :) thank you for liking this game
23:27 I'm sure this was fixed in a later video, but the reason is that Null signals (when that quadrant is missing) totally stop the belt selectors. I believe Shapez 2 has the Constant Signal emitter and it allows for a Null, so at the end use a comparator to check and switch the belt accordingly.
I really like this series, you can follow the tutorial very easily and the M.A.M. is very efficient, the problem is that you use blueprints that you havo to pay for and I cannot pay for patreon. Anyway it's a great series, keep up!
oh, i had no idea belt filters can work simply by scanning the shape that's on them, I assumed they only work on logical values - that would make trashers even worse
if your "waiting anxiety" gets too high, his vod channel is @nilaustv8036 . i just checked and the MaM vods aren't there yet but they probably will be soonish. otherwise, they're still on his twitch channel nilaus
I think you should run the logic on a separate blueprint, and run it backwards from the station. so station gets the shape in, the first filter gets the full shape in, then the layers are spilt and each layer assembler gets a filter on the end of it and recieves a full layer, then the halves are split ect. until you get back to the shape selector filter that recieves the fully broken down shape from the logic line.
@Nilaus you can pass a shape signal to the filter not just 0 and 1. Filter then sidetrackes every shape different than given signal. Maybe knowing this, you will need to use less wires and logic gates
For my checker, I have it read the shape on the belt, and if it’s the same as the one being transmitted, it allows it thru, but if not it sends it to the trash.
you can only do that as the last check of the layer. remember, first check if the shape is right for that particular corner. at the next check, we check if each half shape is right. only the last check can check the whole layer shape.
I think it has to do with the crystals later on. But at this stage, I find it a bit hard to follow - for example I would've expected "shouldn't only the right stuff arrive in the end and does it matter if you send a few trains with old crap into the portal?" instead of "let's clean up the queue after every single step all the time" ...
Theres a change from the first video to this one that I cant seem to find in this video nor the next one. The platform with the receiver changes, and Im not sure what you've done with it.
If you look at the 4:11 time mark and pause it, you can get a good picture of what he did. He added a receiver (probably set on the first random milestone). He then added a transceiver and receiver looks like on green channel. Then added the option of running the random shape or a specific shape with a push button and signal producer. It is quite easy to figure out IF you pause the video at the right moment. Right now, I need to find out where he built that damn stacker setup. Mine feeds from both sides and not from side and bottom. Hope this helps.
You'd have to watch the whole series. If you just jump in at a random episode you're going to miss some things. He's gone over every blueprint he uses in this.

I have a feeling that the final build that can do pins colors and crystals is gonna be massive
Just remember the current MaM is only single layer. The full thing will be 4x this size at least
23:05 --- Oh my god, THANK YOU finally! Like the release when you remove a splinter from under your fingernails! 😀

I just finished your first video on the MAM, this couldn't have come at a better time.
Oh wow you put this video out fast. Kudos and thank you! I was eagerly awaiting part 2, and here it is. Keep up the good work my man.
Simple and esthetic Nilaus! Congratz for that awesome MAM!

Instead of using an AND gate, you could use a NOT to detect if a signal is empty, or an OR with one input for the inverse.
Excellent series. I've been following along with this (tweaking your design to fit my MAM).

Perfect timing I just opened UA-cam
A cliffhanger ending, I'm waiting sorta patiently for the next! Great series, thanks!

Спасибо за подробное разъяснение. Ты супер.
This has been so useful

me sitting for an hour and a half trying to figure out how it looks in the lower layers at 2:29 xD
eventually i got it right!
i hope they change the wires fairly drastically. the lack of vertical connectivity is quite frustrating.
Do you have update with pipe gates installed? It makes makes MAM significantly faster and smaller, since you only need 1 painter module.
flipping amazing! how fast you learn stuff man...
Hei great mam s-o far can’t wait for next. I think the first trasher doesn’t need input from 2 sizes so it can be cleaned a bit .
I think this video is missing from the playlist.
Though might also be youtube being weird.

@@vulcanfeline Yes, my checkers only do the whole shape. And I know I could setup ones that check corners or halves... but I'm too lazy! 🤣
Actually, why can't a swapper be used instead of a stacker? Then there would be lesser logic used.

Stacking a crystal breaks it, but you can use a swapper as long as one side ends up empty.
You still have to bypass the swapper.
@@g3cdthe cleaning has more to do with shortening the switch time. If you don't clean it can take upwards of 30 minutes to switch towards the end.
@@andecase oh yes right, didn't take that into account

Are you going to go over how you build the train you're using to feed this?
I made one who completed 8 tasks by making random shapes 1-4 with all colours.. insane large and not quite fast
@nilaus This video is in the wrong Shapez2 playlist
I need that 3 layer stacker blueprint
while i appreciate your time and effort, this is anything but a tutorial lol

@@senpaishade yeah i just started watching some of the older stuff.
also, don't forget his vod channel (NilausTv8036) and twitch channel (Nilaus)
isso vai ficar colossal kkkkkkkkkkk
You are making a mess but it is a working mess xD
