Back in the days of westward expansion in the US, the pioneers would put silver dollars in their water and milk barrels to help extend the shelf life. I did a very detailed research about all brands and ended up choosing the Lagoon Brand because I believe it is easier to find parts around the world and resell value ! JOY our lagoon 46 is our second Lagoon and on the first JOY, lagoon 42 we used for 2 years and ended up making a profit when sold so it proved the theory to me. All brands have its pros and cons keep that in mind. Lagoon was the one that we thought the cost benefit proved to be the best ! Ps. Also look at Sunreefs, specially the 50, they are awesome if you are going for a larger vessel. Best Ed.

Hi Robert ! Yes the second guest room have a bed the same size as the master cabin. One thing that we did on ours, which made it even more comfortable was to add a mattress pad made out of memory foam on top of the mattress. Highly recommend. Best Ed

Don't you get a lot of drafts coming through the gaps in the enclosure around the lounge and fly bridge? I worry about rain or sea water coming in too, not to mention bugs.
Hi Robert, We never got water coming in. In cold nights with winds over 25 knots we can feel some drafts but there are no enclosure that will retain 100% of the wind. In terms of bugs there are no bugs out at the sea and while at anchor, if there are bugs it will go in just like in a house. Best Ed

The reason we chose not to have one was because it consumes a lot a water which is a very valuable resource while sailing and also because the models we look at the time we felt it was too small. Trust me Patricia asks me that question every day as well since I don’t think she was as very convinced with my answer! Now, Martin if you plan to spend a lot of time on a Marina where you would have plenty of water I would say that having a dishwater would definitely be a good idea. All the best Ed

Hi Nikos. It probably does. The L46 is not a performance Cat by any means. It strong points are Confort at anchor which is 90% of the time for us and safe overall. I believe a performance Cat can be much faster.

Hi Sonia, We really like catamarans against monohauls ! The reason for that is how stable and comfortable they are while sailing. There are pros and cons for every boat but if I could summarize a Catamaran 40 feet would be equivalent of mono haul of 55 feet in terms of living space . My recommendation is to try to get onboard both to see how you feel it. I will produce a video in the near future talking about the main differences between them as I believe it can also help. What a Beautiful Cat you have! I would like to say the knife you are supporting is a pile of sh!t. It's not even made in Japan! It comes from a district in China so that should tell you a lot. Next it is a rebranding of a old knife Viking. This is a 18/10 stainless which is used for making pots or stainless double lined coffee mugs that would never hold a edge. This knife also is not a hammered stainless steel, it has a black painted finish that will scratch off. No knife that cost 29.99 will be much of a knife. Not trying to destroy your sponsors but before you push a product do some research. If I was you I would only push quality products that you can truly stand behind. Nothing will upset your viewers more than pushing junk. I did more research before buying this knife and am very happy I didn't buy and waist my money. i hope you're pushing that black water dump button over 3 miles offshore, otherwise, it's illegal in US coastal waters, and likely many other coastal waters as well. you really should be dumping it at a marina or dock that has a tank for it, so they can send it to be properly treated. To be clear, it does NOT matter what treatment YOU give your black water, you STILL cannot dump it in US coastal waters.

The coach area in the cabin keep the AC unit underneath the coach so it would be hard to totally remove it but if I would do it over again instead of a coach I would have storage for clothes on top of it as the coach is a place we never use. Is well. The reason we chose not to have one was because it consumes a lot a water which is a very valuable resource while sailing and also because the models we look at the time we felt it was too small. Trust me Patricia asks me that question every day as well since I don’t think she was as very convinced with my answer! Now, Martin if you plan to spend a lot of time on a Marina where you would have plenty of water I would say that having a dishwater would definitely be a good idea. All the best Ed

Without a doubt. We truly enjoy our L46. That’s an upgrade we say it was worth it everyday out here.
Curious, does the Lagoon creak while under sail. Their older boats creaked just walking around.
It still does creeks a little bit much less than our previous Lagoon 42.
@@SailingJoy are you familiar with parley revival and the bulkheads? After the bulkhead repair, almost no creaks.
@@mrmped1 yes very familiar with them. We have had our bulkheads inspected and found no issues. All good. Creak como from places where you find wood and fiber rubbing together. We have very minimal creaking as well. Best Ed

does that high boom degrade sailing performance much?
Hi Nikos. It probably does. The L46 is not a performance Cat by any means. It strong points are Confort at anchor which is 90% of the time for us and safe overall. I believe a performance Cat can be much faster.

Hi Sonia, We really like catamarans against monohauls ! The reason for that is how stable and comfortable they are while sailing. There are pros and cons for every boat but if I could summarize a Catamaran 40 feet would be equivalent of mono haul of 55 feet in terms of living space . My recommendation is to try to get onboard both to see how you feel it. I will produce a video in the near future talking about the main differences between them as I believe it can also help. Catamaran's are way better than mono's in my opinion. They are certainly much easier to manoeuvre and a million times more stable on water.

I would like to say the knife you are supporting is a pile of sh!t. It's not even made in Japan! It comes from a district in China so that should tell you a lot. Next it is a rebranding of a old knife Viking. This is a 18/10 stainless which is used for making pots or stainless double lined coffee mugs that would never hold a edge. This knife also is not a hammered stainless steel, it has a black painted finish that will scratch off. No knife that cost 29.99 will be much of a knife.
Not trying to destroy your sponsors but before you push a product do some research. If I was you I would only push quality products that you can truly stand behind. i hope you're pushing that black water dump button over 3 miles offshore, otherwise, it's illegal in US coastal waters, and likely many other coastal waters as well. you really should be dumping it at a marina or dock that has a tank for it, so they can send it to be properly treated. To be clear, it does NOT matter what treatment YOU give your black water, you STILL cannot dump it in US coastal waters.

Hi Adam ! We really like the owner version and would do it again for sure. The coach area in the cabin keep the AC unit underneath the coach so it would be hard to totally remove it but if I would do it over again instead of a coach I would have storage for clothes on top of it as the coach is a place we never use.
