      Thanks brother really appreciate the comment and I can't believe I missed it. A lot of the drums that I receive are either from companies here in Australia or from local builders. When it's the more exotic snares I usually buy them so those sorts of videos take a little longer to produce.

    Many thanks Drum Brother for this most excellent video. I can't get over just how great this snare is, and especially for the price, it's like a gift from DW!!!

      I love this drum, I seldom use it though because of it's sheer volume but when it's unleashed I don;t hold back.

    Considering getting one of these, I just yesterday bought 6.5x14 NOB DW Collectors and I already want a bell brass in the same size. Also, you’re one of the few channels where the drums you review are well tuned. So thank you for that.

      @@IAMDRUMMER it did. A great snare but a bit too heavy to cart around (heavier than the HLD even) so I ended up selling it.
      I even got the same snare in 14x6 after that one and sold it for the same reason (although it was 1k lighter, sometimes I never learn) that one can be heard on my last live video.
      I just have to accept that I love the sound, but not the weight of a cast bronze snare.
      Who knows what the feature will bring 😂

    • @DavidKrautscheid
      @DavidKrautscheid 6 років тому

      then this snaredrum misses the l crack as most snares do when a normal head is used

    • @DavidKrautscheid
      @DavidKrautscheid 6 років тому

      Try the remo Cybermax on the snaredrum..new doors open and a much more amazing sound on this drum

    • @IAMDRUMMER
      @IAMDRUMMER  6 років тому

      Head choice is all personal preference, what you might prefer to get the tone and crack you desire might not suit another players taste. Remo Cybermax is made with the Premier coating and designed primarily for Pipe and Marching band.
      My personal taste is not to use this type of head on a snare drum for many reasons but that's my taste. Also as you may have noticed I prefer Evans drum heads who also sponsor this channel and to use another brand of head wouldn't go down to well....also the Remo 14" Cybermax retails here in Australia for $179AUD so to buy one for each snare review is extremely cost prohibitive for not just me but also for the everyday drummer.
      This drum has plenary of crack as the video doesn't do it real justice, the idea behind these reviews is to get a general overview of the product, heads etc.

    • @DavidKrautscheid
      @DavidKrautscheid 6 років тому

      Yes the remo cybermax is bacically a marching head for the pipe band but if you watch my video ish is the jazz you can hear a 2.3mm glassfiber snaredrum with remo cybermax as the all time choyce for batter head and remo ambassador snare side as reso and canopus vintage snare wires.

    • @IAMDRUMMER
      @IAMDRUMMER  5 років тому

      Jetty 1502 What tape that’s not tape look again and that’s the room no verb added, sorry to disappoint.

    • @Jetty-xd9yc
      @Jetty-xd9yc 5 років тому

      @@IAMDRUMMER well if it's not taped and what the hell is it? and I don't believe for a second that the room mic is making all that reverb. Anyways I don't give a hell what it is good luck in the future buddy

    • @IAMDRUMMER
      @IAMDRUMMER  5 років тому +2

      Jetty 1502 It’s a 320sm concrete factory and yes that’s the mic picking it up, look at some of the other videos as I do talk about it and show the size of it. The dampening is a Snareweight M1, this was of my very first videos and I care what you say about it.

    way too much reverb, and the level of volume is also too loud, can't really hear the true sound of the snare

    • @IAMDRUMMER
      @IAMDRUMMER  4 роки тому +1

      Ahhh this was one of my first videos and a lot has been learnt from this one and others.
      Biggest issue was the room, all that reverb you hear is a 320sqm concrete factory I was leasing. As much as the reverb was nice and boomy it brought a lot of problems.
