considering that pret-a-porter p.rn wasn't as readily available as now, save for dodgy downloads on limewire and kazaa and was still on cd-roms, vhs, and other hard media, i think it's safe to say people around the world, billions, boy or girl, had uhm, been poaching the egg to shannon in that time frame, especially that scene in american pie...
Since the pandemic, I have been watching every movie that I can find to watch on it's 10th and 20th anniversary. The Replacements turned 20 in 2020 and it was the first time I watched it and I was so mad that I hadn't seen it before. Silly but a classic!
Falco was drafted after college. There is the scene where McGinty is talking to him and told him he "never should have started that first year in" and I can't remember what team it was. Said something like you weren't ready and you didn't have the offensive line. So sounds like he had a disastrous first year in the league and then was out.
This was a rewatchable for me as soon as it was released on vhs and dvd. Love this movie! I had to stop watching it because I’ve seen it so many times. But maybe I’ll check it out again. We had it good and didn’t even know it. I wish football and movies were still like this
No CR. Ill do the Wayne Jenkins " Goddamn Falco, I didnt know i was dealing with Johnny Utah and a muther funking brawl. You're going away a long funkin time!"
Just gotta chime in and back up my boy Troy Smith a bit If I recall correctly, he was beating out Joe Flacco for the starting job in the Raven's '08 training camp, but came down with mono and lost a ton of weight prior to the season starting. That paved the way for Flacco and the rest is history. I think Troy could have been a similar player to Russell Wilson as he was a good athlete and had a pretty strong arm. He was a really effective runner scrambler for the Buckeyes, especially in his early years as well. He's a Buckeye legend though as he was 3-0 as a starter vs ttun and won the '06 Heisman.
I remember Michael Jace's wife, she was a track star at Cal State Fullerton, at the time I was at Cal State Fullerton, another insane fact for me, Gwen Stefani before she became famous was also a student there.
I do not know who to be more mad at. @56:00 Van admits he has never seen "Friday Night Lights" the tv show. How can he be on a Rewatchables talking about Football movies??!? He can not compare coach motivational speeches if he has not heard/seen the tv line reading of "Clear Eyes, Full Hearts can't lose." How can Bill invite him on the show without vetting Van's football movie bona fides more thoroughly??!!!
this film is a comfort watch for me, I have the snapper DVD case and in the special features the QB and Football advisors said how well Keanu took to being a QB real quick.
Anyone else get upset that they kept talking about how he must have been so bad in the Sugar Bowl that he never even get drafted or played pro at all? It’s mentioned a couple times that he flamed out in the pros. Hackman said “you should have been carrying a clipboard that first year not trying to carry the team”. Clearly he played a couple years in the NFL.
Keanu is at his best when he has minimal dialogue. John Wick, The Matrix, etc. Just put him on screen and let him vibe. Otherwise, you end up with a Much Ado About Nothing where Keanu does Shakespeare and is spectacularly awful at it.
Not having an over the top racist and sex addict makes this movie even more awesome and rewatchable. It’s not needed and during the 2000s those characters were everywhere and it would have aged badly
Sorry for the curve ball but is the opening music for The Rewatchables an original score or something else? I love it, need to hear a full version of it.
Did you guys ever mention that this movie was directed by Howard Deutch? Because that guy had a disappointing career. He comes out swinging with Pretty In Pink, Some Kind Of Wonderful, and The Great Outdoors all back to back to back in 1986, ‘87, and ‘88. Then it goes downhill quick in the 90s because he makes Article 99, Getting Even With Dad, Grumpier Old Men, The Odd Couple II, and then The Replacements is kind of his last big movie. After that he makes The Whole Ten Yards, (so the guy is 0-3 in making sequels) and then his last movie was My Best Friend's Girl in 2008. He’s definitely comparable to Shane Falco haha. But his daughter is Zoey Deutch who’s gone on to have a great career.
Ivory Christians speech from Friday night lights is better than the coaches. They bleed just like we bleed they go threw 2 a days we go threw 2 a days. The fact that he doesn’t speak much and then he does that is great.
I love this movie, faults and all. I think this is like comfort food because, as they said, it's full of cliches but still, the personalities pull you in. I watch this everytime is on, I own it, I own the Falco jersey...yes, is predictable but sometimes, you just need to hear the hits.
definitely rhys ifans apex mountain- went toe to toe for some time there as quirky, weird brit/welsh/irish best friend with ewen bremmer and marked corrected the latter as well.
I dislike Bill for many reasons. One is throwing shots at any chance he gets at Kobe & my lakers(I know he’s a Boston guy but still it gets ridiculous). Two is also not having any World Series coverage for the dodgers vs Yankees. But when he gets in his bag and gives love to one of my favorite films The replacements, all that goes away and I can’t help but give him his props. Damn you Bill
1:12 I feel like both the owners and the players are the bad guys now the current players are Divas if you're a superstar player there's no accountability
Yo Van. Lotta shit talk about FSU as a fan of a team who couldn’t beat them 2 years in a row, including an ass whipping with a Heisman winner QB. Let’s chill on my Noles, 1 worst season of our lives ain’t erasing 13-0 from last year or the fact that 2 of their 3 natty’s come from undefeated teams.
Had zero clue van and bill had a movie podcast together. Even though I listen to about foreign movie podcast already this one’s totally different from all four of them and Van being black and how he talks about movies is something that missing from the other podcast l listen to. Plus y’all talk about movies l love and that people have seen
This is the fifth consecutive week featuring a film I either didn’t watch or disliked. And for at least three of those weeks, I still enjoyed the podcast. These guys are so good at what they do.
Whenever it comes on TNT/TBS, I’m watching the whole thing
That’s a fact lol
Big Facts...this was on replay when I was in the military in the early 2000s
No lies told. I always stop on this movie if it's on
"Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory lasts forever." - Shane Falco
0:13:14 Shannon Elizabeth was Jeremy Lin for like 9 months
God, it was a wonderful time
Lizsanity it was tremendous.

Best quote in the movie that wasn't said by Orlando Jones: "Do you know what insurance costs on a Ferrari, mother..."
"Can you stop them from SHAKING THEIR ASSES FOR 2 MINUTES!"
This is the Major League of football :D
The bit where they talked about the 'Jacked Up' segment on ESPN was so god damn funny
Correction department: Keanu Reeves was also in a hockey movie: Youngblood - starring Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze.

I came here to say this. Shane Falco's comp is Josh Rosen.
My mom has been referring to Rodgers as Martel for years now. The perfect connection
ur mom is a gem
I love this fucking movie. Quote it all the time
Gotta have heart.
This was my first rewatched IN THEATERS (3 times) movie and the DVD stays on standby til this day
I swear Gene Hackman is always putting a team together
One of my favorite movies to quote; "Consider it done" "You can rock me to sleep Jumbo" 'i GOT YOU The ball!"
They stole the “you aren’t even a has been, you’re a never was” from the Mighty Ducks
45:09 If this was my podcast I wouldn't put that in there
This was a rewatchable for me as soon as it was released on vhs and dvd. Love this movie! I had to stop watching it because I’ve seen it so many times. But maybe I’ll check it out again. We had it good and didn’t even know it. I wish football and movies were still like this
Roy from The Office as the deaf tight end who just gets the job done has to be one of the “what’s aged the best”
1:14:46 “sugar bowl” unintentional comedy
ya'll are HILARIOUS The Rewatchables is always the highlight of my week
No CR. Ill do the Wayne Jenkins " Goddamn Falco, I didnt know i was dealing with Johnny Utah and a muther funking brawl. You're going away a long funkin time!"
Byron Mayo on the sidelines with the cheerleaders: "What do ya say we get something goin' here, babes?!"
Van spot on with Friday night lights 😂
"Can you be perfect"
Just gotta chime in and back up my boy Troy Smith a bit

I don’t really like the 2man rewatchables. Were russillo and Chris Ryan busy??
I do not know who to be more mad at. @56:00 Van admits he has never seen "Friday Night Lights" the tv show. How can he be on a Rewatchables talking about Football movies??!? 1:35:07 "The streaming service, not the planet!" 😂
"Be careful" @ 32:25 KILLED me lmaooooo
this film is a comfort watch for me, I have the snapper DVD case and in the special features the QB and Football advisors said how well Keanu took to being a QB real quick.
How did you guys not mention the kicker is Otto Hightower in House of the Dragon?🤦🏾♂️
I LOVE THIS MOVIE! 🙌🏼 Love that you’re doing a Rewatchable on it. ❤️
I could be wrong but I had assumed Hackman was referring to Falco's time in college. Saying he should have been red shirt freshman or whatever.
@@rdroodypoo No way did Falco started at QB for Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl as a freshman.
Brooke Langdon was in Friday Night Lights tv series, she was the single mom Riggs hooked up with
Ironic because Brett Cullen played Riggins’ deadbeat dad.
Also the coffee girl in "swingers"
Never knew this dvd would come in handy. What a treat
Keanu is at his best when he has minimal dialogue. John Wick, The Matrix, etc. Just put him on screen and let him vibe. Otherwise, you end up with a Much Ado About Nothing where Keanu does Shakespeare and is spectacularly awful at it.
One thing missed I never got…why did the cheerleaders have to use replacements ? The try out of people that don’t belong is also a missed cliche
This is one of my favorite movies
Van giving serious Tio Choko vibes in his black hat
That every breath you take scene is the literal embodiment of the "who would you want calling this movie" category. My favorte scene in the movie
41:00 is easily one of the most hilarious bits in rewatchables history 😂
Brett Cullen looks so much like Glen Powell, it's eerie
Just a note- when The Replacement came out there was currently a SAG strike going on.
You think they’ll ever do Out Cold? Feels like we are inching toward an Out Cold rewatchable
More Bill and Van please, great pairing!
Not having an over the top racist and sex addict makes this movie even more awesome and rewatchable. It’s not needed and during the 2000s those characters were everywhere and it would have aged badly
32:20 Bill and Van are funny af 😂
Don't disrespect Constantine. It was a good movie that just happen to have lore that didn't help it.
Yes heartbreakers! Please do that rewatchable with Van
Sorry for the curve ball but is the opening music for The Rewatchables an original score or something else? I love it, need to hear a full version of it.
Here for the Tara Reid gossip…Van please gossip *explicitly* forthwith 😂
14:08 What does that mean??? Can’t figure out what he alluded to
Keanu is great as a villain in "The Gift" check it
Also yeah… athletes wanting to get paid isn’t bad, but can be. Look at Dallas Cowboys. Some players got too greedy and it affects the team.
Did you guys ever mention that this movie was directed by Howard Deutch? Because that guy had a disappointing career. RIP G Baby Hard Ball is lowkey good
Bill with the sneaky Sam Jackson voice 😂😂😂😂
Ivory Christians speech from Friday night lights is better than the coaches. They bleed just like we bleed they go threw 2 a days we go threw 2 a days. The fact that he doesn’t speak much and then he does that is great.
I loved it! I remember SI said it was the worst sports movie
I've always felt this was a better version of The Longest Yard remake
I love this movie, faults and all.
I think this is like comfort food because, as they said, it's full of cliches but still, the personalities pull you in.
I watch this everytime is on, I own it, I own the Falco jersey...yes, is predictable but sometimes, you just need to hear the hits.
And still I saw all his weird movies in the cinema.
HOLD UP, how are you going to say "when I look at you I see two men, the man you are, and the man you outta be" is a bad line, that line is DEEP
In the NFL all owners and players are greedy. No good guys. I love this movie though.
How can they not mention that Keanu Reaves has played TWO Ohio state quarterbacks in two different movies as different characters
Necessary Roughness probably the best football movie of all time which is essentially a football version of Major League
definitely rhys ifans apex mountain- went toe to toe for some time there as quirky, weird brit/welsh/irish best friend with ewen bremmer and marked corrected the latter as well.
Love my Shane Falco jersey i bought from Amazon lol
This is a really bad movie but I LOVE Van and Bill together. ❤️
YES!!!!! My favorite sports movie. I know it’s not the best but it is my favorite
I love Van so much bro
Michael Jace was in a ton of stuff including BS favorite Boogie Nights.
Willie Beaman is Kordel Stewart.
It’s the definition of good/bad❤❤❤
Love this movie
For Bill, I always think of Patriots lineman Eugene Chung when I see the fat Japanese lineman.
Quicksand speech was MLK level 😂😂😂😂
This and hardball are underrated Keanu films. Orlando brown was probably the cumin this but all around funny movie.
Replacements is cool. This is the one with Keanu right? Literally playing Johnny Utah, for a 2nd time.
I was waiting for Bill to say that this movie is a secret sequel to Point Break since both Utah and Falco played for Ohio State haha.
"Quicksand."
This or Unnecessary Roughness and best speech VisionQuest 6:00 minutes.
Been waiting for this one! Grew up on this movie n the only sports movie my mom loves 🤣🙌🏼👏🏼
1:12 I feel like both the owners and the players are the bad guys now the current players are Divas if you're a superstar player there's no accountability
I love the Replacements, it's such a goofy movie.
Please do Any Given Sunday or The Program.
They've already done both of those movies. Or do you mean a live video
@ oh they already talked about them? Ok thanks I will look for it.
@@RonJP-pm7jp They did Any Given Sunday back in 2017 as one of their first episodes and they did The Program in 2020.
@ appreciate it. I will go back and look. Idk they was doing this back in 2020.
Omg.... Van you got him good.
Do short cuts
Don't you put that evil on Keanu, Van Lathan
The bengals need Nigel Gruff
Whose living room is this?

Scanner Darkly is a psilocybin classic....also no love for Bill and Ted?
Pacino any given Sunday. Best sports speech.
Nothing else is even close. Smh
I guess you’ve never seen “Miracle” then.
Finally!
I love this movie...
This is the fifth consecutive week featuring a film I either didn’t watch or disliked. And for at least three of those weeks, I still enjoyed the podcast. These guys are so good at what they do.
Bill and Van together is elite
Depp was in Gilbert grape
Craig is terrible on his problematic take
