- We’ve just finished a phenomenal jaunt through the coast and jungles of Bali, but now we’re leaving Indonesia and heading back to our favorite destination of the Philippines to complete a few Cebu adventures that got caught in the chopping block last year. But it’s not a straight flight and we’re taking two days to get there, so we’re gonna find a way to spend the night in Hong Kong… without leaving the airport, without booking a hotel room, and without causing a kiddo meltdown. Let’s get to it.

Actually, in September 2018, i flew with Cathay. I was at gate 3 (I think) at the main terminal, the tropical cyclone hit HK and our flight got cancel back to USA. Cathay Pacific handled the situation really well, after a few hours around 4a local time, they took all passengers back to L'Nina 5 stars hotel with their buses. We stayed there for 2.5 days. Breakfast lunch, and dinner are included. Everything was free. So yes, courtesy of Cathay Pacific.

It’s a little frustrating when your flight gets delayed and delayed.
Brooklyn and Colt are seasoned travelers already, entertained themselves running around. That’s frustrating loosing the
iPad . One time I lost/ forgot my favorite winter coat on the plane because the flight attendant got it from me and said let me hang it . I just wanted to place it over head and when I deplaned in Manila I forgot it. ☹️ ……

Cebu is my home province. I live in the city and it's usually a couple of hours traffic from the city to the nice beaches up north.

Set a reminder for 6 weeks later. Cathay Pacific tends to try to drag it out and hope that you forget the issues. Always keep contacting them on that Whatsapp number! I still haven't gotten my issue resolved with them and it's been almost 3 months... But super glad you guys were able to get money back for Brooklyn's iPad!

Regarding the flight delays, I heard and read it's been happening worldwide. A bunch of family and friends have been experiencing delays and cancellations the past few months. In the news, they said that it's because of lack of airplane maintenance with the global supply shortage, which also delays deliveries. Ground servicing for airplanes can take longer due to safety measures. Some aircrafts have the same engine parts provider who currently have that shortage. And with customer service, it's been hard here in the Philippines too. Because of the pandemic, there's less staff and airline offices (like Cathay Pacific) in the airport closed. Even when calling their official CS hotline, it's so hard to speak to someone. But I hope with the world slowly getting back to normal, our flight experiences get better. Fingers crossed! 🤞(index and middle finger like the emoji 😆)

Welcome Back to PH 🇵🇭my favorite family vloggers..Cathay pacific always have delayed issues even before pandemic and the worst is people in the Hongkong airport are not friendly and helpful plus some can’t speak and understand English.tried it few times already.
It was definitely a difficult experience for us too. But the good thing is that we eventually got where we needed to go.

Wow, you're so cool and still remain calm, despite the long delay of your Cathay Pacific flight to Hong Kong. If this happens to some Filipinos, it's a dis@ster; it's w@r. The airport will be chaotic. You'll hear a lot of very b@d things; everything will be on social media. Some are taking advantage of the situation by posting fake news and misinformation to gain views. Those Filipinos even went too far; they demanded the cancellation of Cebu Pacific's franchise because of their flight delays and cancellations. And some politicians join the trend. A lawmaker Congressman Rufus Rodriguez of Cagayan de Oro city was calling for the suspension of Cebu Pacific's franchise because of his wife's flight delay. Only in the Philippines! 🤣

The guy who’s sleeping on the lounge is horrendous. Basic courtesy is free of charge. Cathay Pacific should take an action on that matter. Not impressed with this company.
