Congratulations on that. Since we’re on the topic of what we do, I’m a pilot. Pilots alike agree that this is useful. Thanks for watching and have an amazing day ☺️✌🏽.
When I went to Lear 60 Initial, learning the FMS was the hardest part for me. At that time, there was no ground trainer to practice on so much of our sim time was spent pushing (and learning) buttons on the FMS. Flying the airplane the easy part. Eventually, Flight Safety got those trainers. We also had a disk drive in our airplanes where we could upload our flight plan and performance data from our flight planning service. This sped things up considerably. As a corporate pilot for 31 years, I spent most of my career waiting for our passengers. I really loved flying the 60!
It’s definitely a great plane. Fortunately I knew the FMS from the CJ2. It had a universal as well. Wow 31 years. That’s amazing. It’s good to know that it can still be enjoyable after that long. I love it.
First time viewer and aviation enthusiast. Great tutorial. Learned a lot. Not overly and technically taught. Plain and simple. Very entertaining too. I like. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
thanks s lot for such a nice video on a classic Lear 60 avionics, it really helped me, I'm about to start ground school soon and I've been already studying to be more familiar and absorb as much as possible
I'm in LR 45 initial and the FMS is what I'm struggling with most - never used it before! This was great.... thank you! Can you do one video quickly on intercepting and adding a PPOV to add points to an approach from vectors? LOL... guess I better figure it out before the checkride!
One feature i loved in the 'Smiths' unit....( probably capable in the Honeywell, Universal, and Collins too) was when arriving at the jump off, 'end-waypoint on the Arrival...... switching to own nav' to intercept (HDG)......and creating the 'Xtend Centerline'....for vectors to intercept. Still tune the ILS for green needles for backup ( if there is one) ....but, Pink RNAV Needle for the Runway 'outbound course' line....to fly inbound, straight in VFR. Awesome stuff in those FMS units.
Nice. When I was still flying the airlines, my regional First Officers were failing upgrade because of not being able to program the FMS properly. They needed your video🤓
Thank you so much for this video have not been flying myself since 91 92 for pleasure was fairly close to my private license from lansing mi new to you .
Thank you for the great informative video... :-) It helped me the other day when sitting in the Aircraft learning and entering information, I viewed your video again today for the second. Thank you... Enjoy your teachings... Keep them coming. :-)
Uhhhhmmm......systems integration? Typing in info that is already available in other systems, like amount of fuel for example? And the UI.....holy smoke! How old is that plane? But for some reason your movies are always fun to watch!
This was an awesome video, thank you man. I'm actually using this for a simulator, but it explained things so much better than reading through pages and pages of drivel. Can I ask what app you're using on the iPad?
One thing I would not do is have the FD bars showing the Hdg until you are ready to turn at 500ft otherwise when you rotate & fly the dials you have misleading turning indications coming from the FD bars. Push hdg when you REACH 500ft then follow the FD bars. Never T/Off with the FD bars showing other than straight ahead & with the appropriate pitch command.
I see what you mean and you're right. I never had the issue of rotating and immediately following the FD bars but what you said practices safety and I'm all for that. Thanks for the tip.
Great video! Just would like to know what dispatch software or APP you use. I´m talking about the papers you are holding, where you are taking all the weather info from...thank you! keep posting more educational videos like this one!
Sorry for the late response but I am enjoying flying the challenger 300. I’m 6‘4“ and it would be difficult for me to get back into a smaller cockpit like that lol.
There are 2 options here: Stowed and Max. Maximum reverse thrust in case of an aborted takeoff that's not related to an engine failure. Or stowed so that the computer factors in spoilers and braking alone. Neither selection changes the V speeds so we just leave that alone.
What a way to do a tutorial: background noise (to make it harder to hear the speaker), background music (just in case the background noise isn't enough to drown him out), shaky image and constant zoom going all over the place. Why can't ALL tutorials be like this!
i am an avionics programmer. this video is clickbait lol

@@BrianMonette i was trying to make a joke but it flew over your head lol
Never had any idea how the FMC was programmed and this video was very informative.

This video is the reason for why I subscribed to your UA-cam channel . THANKS

Thanks for this video. Looks like I'll be starting into 60 training soon and will need all the tips I can find.
I’m glad this can help even if it’s just a little.
Thank you very much my friend, it was very well explained.
Congratulations !
Glad it was helpful!

Sorry but I can’t really help you there because I haven’t flown the Lear 60 since 2017. But keep studying and I’m sure you’ll do fine.

Thanks Brian for taking the time to produce this video, I maybe transitioning to the LR 60.
I work for the company that builds this flight management computer, it's really cool to see a pilot using our product.
Thank you for the comment. It’s a great tool and user friendly.

Good stuff! It’s interesting to see how FMS’s are programmed from one aircraft to another.
You are an inspiration brother. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for this video. Very informative and entertaining.
Trying to transition to a UNS-1W after using Collins FMS3000 that’s over a decade newer.

Congrats!!! Very nice performance and very professional skills. 👏👏💯

best learjet tutorial

pacadet thanks. I use ForeFlight primarily.

All good, we can all learn from each other:) On a dark stormy night launching straight into the soup you need everything going for you:-)
Why does performance not transfer and have to be programmed again?
Excellent. Thanks Brian👍🏼
Nice help for the UNS fms, subscribed.
This was great! And LEMONY FRESH
Thank you Captain.
Why You say, you like Premier I Beechcraft off production, it is not better the Phenom 100 or Eclipse 550?
Great video!

Lucas Skywalker Thanks for watching. We use FLTplan.com Premium services. It has come a long way over the years and covers everything we need.
Very nice video, thank you.
Great info, thank you!!
Awesome video man
Keep doing it!
COOL AND INFORMATIVE , THX
Thank you Sir!
Nice! Thank you.
I am looking to buy a Lear 31a or 45xr. you open for a job taking care of it?
Sorry for the late response but I am enjoying flying the challenger 300. I’m 6‘4“ and it would be difficult for me to get back into a smaller cockpit like that lol.
The PFD has the same setup as the Crj. I like that.
Yes they sure do. I think it’s a great design.
Does the Lear 60 have a thrust limit performance section?
It’s been a while since I’ve flown it, so I don’t really know for sure but most jets do. It’s been well over 5 years ago.
@@BrianMonette I see
This video was AWESOME!!!!!!
May I ask you something; why there is an item about reverser on T/O PERF page? Thank you.

I got it, thank you very much for your reply, appreciated.
Outstanding...!!
Nice video! Hug from Brazil
Do you normally takeoff with 20 flaps?
Yes we did
Just found this video, thank you!
No problem. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much !
Sure thing!
The FMC is almost like what is used in the Dash?
Yep same box, slightly different software. Same basic procedures although I respectfully disagree with some of the procedures used in this video!
Great, this was great vid, thank you.
Of course we do :)
Thank you men very hepfull
Nice video we like it

1 cent for you. Don't say I never give you anything!
