Frontier Road Deer camp was originally a home and general store built in 1952. The building was purchased and renovated in the early 2000’s into a very comfortable hunting and fishing getaway in the North Maine Woods. This is a recreational property where you do not need to cut and stack firewood, or run a generator to pump water. When you show up at camp all you need to do is open the door, and turn on the lights. Everything is here to make your stay comfortable. The home has a washer, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator and an electric stove.
There is better than 1300 feet of frontage on the Saint Francis River to explore that is part of the property. The headwaters of the Saint Francis is the outlet of Lake Pohenegamook and a border water with Quebec. The Saint Francis flows down river through the working forest and into Beau and Glazier Lakes. The Saint Francis and the lakes have salmon, brook trout as well as musky inhabiting its cold, clear waters. The U.S. side of the lake is largely undeveloped and surrounded by working forestland which make up the majority of the North Maine Woods area. The forestland in this part of the state has some of the largest bodied whitetail deer in the country as well as a large population of moose and ruffed grouse. Snow mobile riding along both Maine and Canadien trails is accessible directly from the property.
