Deep deep south Louisiana here. I've been a fan of United since they mailed out papers with pictures and info. I'm retiring in a year and thinking about Maine.
Acadians became Cajuns when they made it to the south, you'll do the reverse if you retire in Maine. I think you'd like Maine, a good friend of mine moved to Maine from Lake Charles LA about 30 years ago. He has a lot of family come up from Louisiana every summer for 4th of July. They do a big pig roast every year. They all like going to Maine.
San Luis Obispo, California. I have never snow shoed or cross country skied. I lived right outside Portland Maine for two years and absolutely fell in love with the state!

Phil , i'm sorry not to be rude , but the dog story about your Face plant from your dog stepping on the back of your snow.Shoe made me laugh.I'm sorry.I was in a pretty dark place for a few minutes this morning.Having a bad day and that really made me laugh. So thank you.I appreciate that story

That's why I watch these because it's nice to see a change of scenery.I love the way you show the nearest towns and what stores are there. Maine is so beautiful and I believe one day I will move there or at least visit
Thats a funny story about the dog and flat Iowa. Have you ever been to Waukon Iowa? I was there a few years ago for a training with some of the top realtors in the US. I will say, that part of Iowa was rolling hills and most beautiful. Thanks for watching. I appreciate your support of the channel. When you get to Maine, stop by and say hi. Those doors look like souther yellow pine which is a hardwood and not the white or red pine that people thing that is a soft wood. Yellow pine is used for floors like oak. It is very dense and hard and heavy. I'm not 100% sure but I think that is what they are. Very high quality.
Hello from Olive Branch Mississippi! I was born and raised in NY but have lived in the deep south for 35 years and i have to say that at this point in my life I'm tired of cutting my grass 8 months out of the year. I miss winter and cross country skiing... wish I was there!! Nice property, but a little too expensive for me 😢
Waiting for an inheiratence: when that gets here, I am SERIOUSLY looking at Maine. 10 acres to maybe 500 acres. Off grid or on, prefer with water i.e. brook, river, po Bnd or small lake. bye for now. From Michigan.
I think it's one of the better properties you've ever showed but it has some glaring omissions like one bathroom on the first two floors. If you have to "go" really bad that staircase at 2:00 in the morning is not going to be a good time. For me it's style versus functionality and that house does not work. There are parts of it I absolutely love and I thank you for showing me including all of the acreage but it's not designed for functionality.
Deer 🦌 Park, TX. Originally from Orient, ME, at the north end of East Grand Lake, where my dad was a game warden until 1973. Did lots of snowshoeing as a kid there. Enough so, as much as I hate sports, I was still able win second place 🥈 in the snowshoe races in 7th and 8th grade, ahead of all of the sports jocks (except one) each time, at East Grand Elementary, in Danforth. I’m aged 65 now, and those still are my only “sports wins” in my life. Great aerobic activity. When you haven’t been exercising, it takes no time at all to get completely winded. But then, if you stick with it, it takes you no time at all to get aerobically fit, too. Rewarding scenery, for sure.
The solar battery storage inside the house is not allowed in many states and counties because of the risk of fire. This is something you should consider moving into a shed outside. Otherwise, the property all looks very nice.

Actually a big minus. Many people give no thought to the benefits of power from the grid or the weakness of solar power, especially in the northeast.

I also think the two bedroom size is a little small I don't want my kids living over a garage.
You could add a bath upstairs and you could convert the basement exercise room into a bedroom easy enough. The floor plan is flexible to accommodate.
