Isn't fake , we just aren't shown the whole prosses . most the creators find an object to " restore " something in decent shape . the cover it in a mud solution , dry it , repeat until desired thickness , adding color as desired . then start the restoration .

I believe he meant that this tool was for cutting aluminum, not that it was made of it. The cutter is made of steel parts.
