    this is why daily meditation, yoga/workout, prayer, getting up early morning and going to bed early, is so supportive and restorative for the body, and mind.

      + Robin Om This is why anything positive (anything that makes you feel happy, empowered, alive, authentic, etc.) has the power to improve your life - and vice versa of course. That's also why the medical industrious complex (our so called 'health care system', grounded by big pharma/big money) is the last place to look for health...

      Modupe Sarratt - I would add to "know thyself" "heal thyself" which takes knowing and brings forth action ... Knowing alone you are not well isn't enough, knowing the process of healing isn't enough ... To BE well you must DO well ... But I wholeheartedly support your Socratesian reminder "Knowing Thy Self" is at the core of "Healing Thy Self".

To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Do the practice without any expectations. I had asthma since I was 10-11 years old, and it is a terrible ailment. One day, I decided that "its enough, no more asthma for me," and the next morning was the nicest morning woke into for more than 40+ years! No asthma, no creaking in the chest, so easy to breathe. Of course, I had been meditating forfew years, learning to still my mind. The decision not to have asthma was taken in jiffy, and I haven't had a asthmatic seisure, or even coghing session, or wahtever for more than a decade! Today, I have the ability to talk to a sick person and tell "you are not going to have cancer any more!" or, anything else.

      @@briansmith2836 many of us are struggling with the same negative blather in our mind and it took me 67 years to learn that the inner critic and negativity, the "go to" or default setting is really just a well practiced habit that we constantly reinforce with more negative thinking...
      Those inner thoughts were really affirmations; very effective affirmations but they're negative instead of positive..
      It has taken a year but gradually we're able to change the inner narrative 🤗
      I'm still developing it with DAILY intention setting and self love meditation... Many of us have decades of negative affirmations to undo but they really can be undone.
      Good luck to all of us...
      BTW, my debilitating spinal problems are significantly diminished...
      Not gone but definitely manageable.

    My father was a physician. As he aged he came to the same conclusion as has Dr. Rankin. One more thing. My physician, an internist, is forever throwing pills at me, and I am forever throwing them back at him. After looking at my blood work the other day he said, "Just keep doing what you are doing." There may yet be hope for him. I told him that nobody knows this body I'm living in better than I do, so we need to work together. He's treating me for hypertension and type II diabetes. I'm taking none of some of the pills and less of the others. And, I'm not doing those CT scans every year. I will, perhaps, do one every five years. He's freaked out by my smoking. I'm freaked out by the radiation exposure. I think Dr. Rankin is on to something here. Maybe I should make a gift of her book to my physician.

    So grateful for this ancient acknowledgement. At 76 I healed myself from an acute case of Lysteria (kills 50% of elders or immune-system compromised and I have both) due, I believe, to the unquestioned conviction I would heal, and to the loving relationships in my life. I was camping in the forest and took a motel room ($$!) for six weeks instead of doctor or hospital. It took several weeks to recover completely but when I did I was healthier than before I got sick! Go figure. Thank you Dr Lissa, I love your new attitude and stories.

    Wonderful presentation thank you. I discovered the power of the mind many years ago . I had suffered from severe anxiety and depression as a child and teenager. Doctor prescribed medication but I was unable to work due to side effects of the medicine. So I studied meditation and Self-hypnosis and each night put myself into a semi-trance sending positive instructions to my subconscious each night before going to sleep . I had stopped the medication before beginning this self help treatment and at the 6 months stage I woke up one morning feeling a slight relief and lift from my chest which continued to noticeably improve over the next 3 months leading to 100% recovery. Greetings from James J in Limerick city Ireland

    Dr.Rankin is a wonderful personification of these ancient philosophies for the present times. I escaped an extremely toxic relationship that was making me dangerously ill. A fantastic Yoga philosophy book by Rammurti S. Mishri M.D. literally saved my life. However, the way it fell into my hands one day at a library is almost magical. I guess the decision to follow its guidance was the first prescription I wrote for myself. I went through years of turmoil rebuilding my life and rescuing my son but now we are well and happy.
    Brava Doctor Rankin! You are the change the health system needs. Thank you! 💗

    Meditation calms the mind, it all comes down to how you view a situation. You can choose happy or sad. Most people find excuses to be sad, I don't like this or I don't like that. Chill out, learn to accept things as they are and you will soon find silly things no longer stress you out.

Thank you for being bold in educating us to take our own responsibility for our health!! Bravo. I know the mainstream world of medicine seems to believe they hold all healing power when they have only the license to cut, medicate, or radiate. When I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, the doctor just handed me a prescription coldly and gave me no hope or insight in handling a chronic pain condition. I shortly developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and was bedridden. I had to heal myself, the biggest piece being with EFT (tapping) and releasing emotional pain from childhood and Wim Hof breathing technique.

    Namaste. Thank you for sharing this amazing knowledge, all docs need to be empowered with, so beautifully. Experienced it today in my 86 year old mom...... who could barely walk into the ortho doctor's appointment and she came back feeling and walking so much better. All he did was listen to the history, get a few x-rays of her knee and leg, and announce to her loud and clear! that her knees and bone health were excellent for her age!! She was already on calcium , vitamin B capsules etc. And he prescribed a week of medication to elevate any pain or inflammation plus 2 weeks rest. Then he would give a few exercises. The healing I believe started as soon as he pronounced his diagnosis of excellent knee as well as bone health! So very true, that doctors not only give medication to cure but empower the healing process when they choose the right words and empower the patient and be the tipping point in their healing process. Empowering and healing the spirit of the patient makes all the difference. And the right belief in a patient works wonders. Our minds are so powerfull. We can achieve anything we believe with full faith. Thanks 🙏

    It's true, we can heal ourselves. I just willed away a couple of hand cramps, and I have willed pain away 1-2 other times as well. And if it's mental pain someone feels, simply call down the highest vibrations to wrap you in their healing energy, and if somehow that doesn't work, just simply take a shower and relax, and everything will feel so much better. People are too quick to prescribe drugs and other things, that's how the medical industry makes money. Although for more serious things like diseases and stuff, you should still see your doctor to get treatments to keep it from getting more serious, but it's ultimately up to you to heal yourself. Many people have recovered from "incurable" diseases because of their faith and the faith of their families. You don't even need to be religious to do this, it's a power that all of us have for we're all connected in spirit :)

She's speaking authentically from her own observations - a physician of which Sapolsky, PHD - is not. Him talking about spontaneous remissions or the placebo effect wouldn't even make sense. I honor that people have their own "tribe" and audience along with appropriate delivery.

    Am all about practicality. Am trying to figure out what courses to take in Quantum University. Am already a member of Unity Church. From my childhood I had wanted to become a medical doctor. It didn't turn out that way. However, I became a social scientist. Trust me I became a metaphysician, meaning that I have practiced "Mind over matter". Today you taught "Mind Over Medicine". I attended College of Metaphysics in Missouri at a branch on Hanging Moose Rd. Jackson Mississippi. Now what? Growth is all I know. Mathematics, Physics, & Biology were not my smooth sailing subjects in High School nor college. That was why I couldn't pursue Medicine. I withdrew passing from Registered School of Nursing, Hinds Junior College. Rankin County MS. 1981 or so. Is that your county? 😍. Your voice another voice of God.

    Totally Agree. the clients I have that do the best believe they can do the best and understand the body, mind and spirit are one. Those that keep getting stuck on what they have been told (that they cannot do anything about their chronic illness for example) take much longer to heal even when we change food, movement and stress. In my case, I work mostly with diabetics who have been told it is purely genetic which is purely nonsense.

    As a parent of 3 adult kids who chose to not communicate with or see us too often (as much as we'd prefer), I know their priorities impact us as parents. Yet I also don't want to be a demonstrative parent overstepping my relationship. We just need to let them know we're here for them, always 💕 them & spending time with them, and🙏🏼 they'll give of themselves to benefit our relationship (which boosts our wellness). In the meantime, I've chosen to embrace a mentoring relationship of mothers of preschoolers/ MOPS, and I ❤️ these sweet ladies. It never replaces how we miss our kids.

    Diet and stress play a massive massive part in cancer something mainstream have no clue how to CURE. Immune system breaks down because of body being depleted of enough nutrients. Stress shuts the cells stops the cells getting enough nutrition or oxygen so they mutate into cancer cells. I DO believe its mind over matter along with adjsuting a nutrient dense diet with loads of organic raw live veggies and fruits along with other cooked foods if we wish. Great video though enjoyed it but we do need to take responsbility in order to learn how to heal our bodies from cancer its not just BAD LUCK.

    I would argue it's not the things themselves that are important but how one thinks about them. For instance, stress is not a given in a busy work environment but how you feel about that environment. Sense of community is not necessary unless you feel lonely from lack of it, and so on. Not everyone requires the same environment. It's perception rather than specific "things" that matters.

      @@marcierenee15 How are you now? Get realistic and practical. In life there only 2 problems--mind and the body [psychsomatic sickness]. To feel better reduce negative thoughts. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives good relief from stress-anxiety. When taking a walk, at office, in college, when reading, before sleep etc observe your breath sensations. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a better life. Reduce negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes--Counsellor.

    The question 'can the mind heal the body? can be answered affirmative, but the body heals itself all the time anyway, as part of the second phase of the natural two-phased biological processes we mistakenly call 'diseases' (read up on 'German New Medicine' for this). I quit my job and everything to move abroad and marry this wonderful woman I met on the internet (sounds stupid, I know) and ended up broke but so damn healthy it's unbelievable. Migraine, chronic back ache, colds/flu, etc. became things of the past and so yes, it's all about believes/conditioning/expectations... Live the mystery and feel how you ARE life. By the way, that was in 2012 and we're still together and crazy in love :-)

    • @MG-is5bg
      @MG-is5bg 8 років тому

      There is huge huge Difference B/w Migraine, chronic back ache, colds/flu and Cancer, But there is still hope

    • @ronaldvl636
      @ronaldvl636 8 років тому +2

      + Mayank Singh Gaur There sure is a huge difference in the (conditioned) perception of all kinds of 'diseases'. Nobody will experience life threatening danger and desperation when diagnosed with migraine, chronic back ache, the flu, etc., but when it comes to cancer it's a totally different picture. The idea of having to undergo horrible chemo-poison treatments is enough to cause despair in most people and it takes the medical dogma, that only this barbaric treatment (radiation being another one) can stop cancer, to drive people into the greedy arms of big pharma. Our whole health care system ('sickness system' would be a better term) is build around making people feel scared/weary/worried about their health all the time - look at all the advertising for preventive tests/screenings and warnings we get bombarded with continuously - and the scary medical predictions (so many people will get so or so disease this year and so many will die of it...) makes up for the 'medical establishment' being the worse 'nocebo' (counter part of the placebo effect) imaginable. The sickness industry puts negative health expectations into people and it works beautifully... Most people expect to get sick at some point and also expect traditional medicine (mainly pharmaceutical chemicals) to be their best bet to get well again - of course their's also the pressure to turn up at the work place every day and, for the elderly, to slow down the process of getting older (which is synonymous for getting more and more sick for most of them, another medical dogma - what really accounts for 'old age symptoms' is mainly the breaking down of your feeling of self worth). If this makes sense to anyone, I advice you to read about 'German New Medicine', 'placebo and nocebo effect' and 'law of expectation' or 'self fulfilling prophecy'. Changing your negative believes/expectations is not an easy task, taking into account the way we get negatively conditioned from the day we are born, but it can be done... Good luck to all!

      Very thanks for your detailed reply, I agree with you
      My mom has stage 4 her2+ very aggressive breast cancer form 18 years she is still alive because she is not educated that much to do research in internet. Her cancer return back and present expensive combo stop working, she is now on other crombo " xeloda + tykerb " I worried so much when I do research on internet because I found only negative and depressing stories, I feel very bad when my mom innocently says " I will be cure " no problem, these sentence worried me lot because I know the reality of this disease and limited treatment options, However she is religious and still believing that god will cure her some day, may be this placebo effect might work, even I am now trying a new concept " I told her yesterday night, I saw god "who she believe" 3 times in dream, he told me your mom will be cure, because I am trying to create artificial placebo effect on her mind, Hopefully this work, I like to talk with you --- English is my second language, thanks again

    • @ronaldvl636
      @ronaldvl636 8 років тому +1

      +Mayank Singh Gaur You're very welcome. Here's some more information no oncologist will ever give to his or her patients: "Therefore, for every 100 non palpable cancers found through mammography alone, 54 would presumably have gone away (174 / 324 × 100 = 54%)." www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3320224/ It's my guess that a lot of the 46% of cancers that do get found would also go away if the patients were not scared (cancer diagnosis) and poisoned (chemotherapy) by their oncologists. This is why it's so important to learn about 'German New Medicine' (GNM) and also about the placebo and nocebo effect (doctors/oncologists being the worse nocebo's of all) BEFORE you get caught in the maze of 'preventive screenings' and 'timely checkups', etc. GNM is the only theory that explains why the immune system doesn't attack tumors and the body makes new blood vessels to support tumors (angiogenesis). Your oncologist believes that cells go crazy because of 'random mutations' of the DNA or because of some 'defective genes' (or whatever theory they make up about cancer) and then assumes these crazy cells all of a sudden become smart enough to trick the immune system and the body to leave them alone and even supply them with extra blood... Of course this also explains why the medical establishment has never tested GNM...

    My mantra is Christ.
    The Holy Scriptures teach this same concept. One of my favorite passages is found in the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ.
    "…If ye would hearken unto the Spirit which teacheth a man to pray, ye would know that ye must pray; for the evil spirit teacheth not a man to pray, but teacheth him that he must not pray. But behold, I say unto you that ye must pray always, and not faint; that ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord save in the first place ye shall pray unto the Father in the name of Christ, that he will consecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the welfare of thy soul.” (2 Nephi 32:8-9)
    Praying always, meditating upon the good word of Christ, is the most sanctifying and healing process there is.
