Jacob, here's a tip for some excellent material to make those templates with. It's called vellum. Not sure that's spelled correctly, but it's close enough. Many, many years ago, I was a Draftsman and we used sheets of this material for our drawings. It is TOUGH, thin, and plasticized. It should be available in art supply stores. One side is slick and the other, the drawing surface, is dull. You can draw on it with pencils or ink. I used a scapel to cut it when splicing in some printed, detail directions so that the cut edges wouldn't "pucker up". It's about the thickness of 2 pieces of printer paper and easily rolled up. The "normal" size we used was 28"x 40", but there are smaller sizes as well as rolls. I do not know what it costs, but you will not have to take out a bank loan to buy it. Ha Ha. This would allow folks to use the templates over and over and over and over..........This sharp, little grill could also be used as a smoker. Now, here's another idea. If someone can't find any pieces of thick walled pipe like you're using, they can check at some junk / salvage yards for an old, cast-off GAS hotwater tank. I stress "gas" because those tanks are metal and are thick. The electric ones have thinner metal in the tanks and some are even fiberglas. Man, I really appreciate your videos and have learned a HECK of a lot from watching them. I'm too old to ever become a weldor now, but I still like to learn. Many of your tips have helped me become a lot better at backyard metal-melting on some projects. And, as you always say, "BE BLESSED" and have a great day. I've "borrowed" your saying and use it constantly with everyone I meet and it is always answered with a big smile. Bless you, my brother in Christ.
Love your channel Mr.Schofield me and my blue healer Bailey always watch your videos together! I want to be a rig welder when I'm older and you have inspired me and helped me push myself to become a better welder then I was.
Dallas Bills that’s great man. Me and my dogs are always watching videos too lol. Got to love a blue heeled.
Nice video man love the way how you explain things and show step by step on how to do it should be done 🙌🏽👏🏽👍🏽🔥👨🏽🏭can’t wait for tomorrow to see the final steps of this bbq pit build

rig sospuro email me at schofieldwelding@gmail.com and we can get you hooked up they are neat grills for sure
Liking your videos nice little BBQ 👍
Thanks for the video. I like the chuck key for your roll out wheel. I think I'll make one like that for my lathe. Anyway good job!
JD Custom it’s slick it’s the first time I’ve had one like this and I like it.
I’ve been waiting for this damn video for yeeeeeeears! Scouring UA-cam and the internet, looking for any literature on how to layout a pipe cooker. Great video man!
thanks Nicky hope that little serious helped out.
Rleeco.com has that nice template paper if you didn’t know already, might be worth checking out if you didn’t 👍🏼,good videos,I like it when brothers of the trade help out others who may not have access to an actual welder and just want to learn, right on,”each one teach one”.
Looking good.👍🏽👍🏽
Tomas Alvarado thanks Tomas
Good video. Looking forward to seeing the finished cooker. I'm working on getting some stuff gathered up to make a reverse flow smoker out of a 550 gal fuel oil tank I have.
Derek Shrewsbury holy dang that’s a big grill!!!
Jacob Schofield yeah it's gonna be a brute. I'll pretty much only use it for family reunions and stuff.
Yup! That's what I do between jobs. Build me some grills out of 55 gallon drums. Want to try this now. Thank you Jacob!
Matthiason Phillips you bet buddy it’s a great way to make some extra money
Nice Jake!!!
Jonathan Herrera thanks man
Loved how you scratched your head in Disbelief 🤣
keep up the good work
Awesome thanks for the video
Justin Richie you bet thank you
That a 8” on 8” saddle you cut out on each end?
When I was a pipeline welder Helper I brought up the idea if using the coupons as bb q pit blanks they usually just scrap them. There was like 12 of them . Long time ago. The branch alone ads for different ideas about new designs.
Javier Garcia very true that would of been another way to make some money
I want one!
HillBillyRocker there awesome. If you want a template email me schofieldwelding@gmail.com or buy the black pipefitter book and look up the bull plug
Definitely in on a template !
erik gottschalk email me at schofieldwelding@gmail.com and we can get you hooked up
Jacob Schofield sent it man! Stoked
I need help getting the information to make one out of 16” .250w
Can I still buy one of these templets ?
You still selling those templates by any chance?
Great video ,but how r your Templates going for ??
Gonna buy the book and go from there. I want the experience.
JD Custom it’s a great way to figure it out.
Good music when you were cutting :D
Carson Chaney ahaha thanks man just to make it a little better to watch.
Place a url where metric people can download the drawing. Postage fees from US to the boring EU cost a lot of bucks these days. Thnx4all
I have a question if you were in school and you had the opportunity to preheat your test pieces that we're going to be bended would you preheat them
Kaden Farmer before you weld them? Yes you want them preheated at least a little. You don’t want to strike off onto something cold.
Put me down for a template aswell !!! Good work as always guys . Thanks !!
Abel adame email me at schofieldwelding@gmail.com and we can get you hooked up thanks Abel
When you have to fit a pipe over the roll out wheel or much rather the lathe Chuck, do you actually open the teeth of it? I haven't used one at all
GettingItTogether yes, the “teeth” are reversible. So to clamp down on it you actually open the chuck up.
alright thanks for the reply, i was watching him work with it at the very end and i thought i saw him loosening it
Hey are those templates still for sale??
do guys ever have plasma cutters on their trucks? you have to pay for gas bottles correct? are they allowed on the job or are they just more pricey than guys wonna spend?
BC4Lyphe I think it’s they don’t want to haul the compressor on there trucks.
BC4Lyphe oxy/acetylene is just best as an all purpose cutter(I’m sure you know that.)
Jacob Schofield hey could you talk about grinders in a video
BC4Lyphe if your good enough, a good set of torches cuts just as good, if not better and faster then a plasma. To bulky and pricey. It’s down and dirty baby.
You should look into a laser or large printer type that would suit print and cut your template for you. Have a template party and everyone cuts out a bunch of templates to help you out.
Javier Garcia a laser printer? I’ve never heard of one but I am all in... cutting these things out suck!!!! Lol thanks for the great tip man.
Should be good grill 👌
juuso virtanen I think they make a neat grill for sure
do you make 12 and 16 inch templets how much also
I just finished with a 12” and it will be out shortly

humpahamster email me at schofieldwelding@gmail.com they will be 30.00+ shipping
Need a template for a 24" .
Chuck Milstead dang that’s a big freaking grill. Ain’t got one of those good luck
Love your shows, but dammit you got one pair of eyes and that cutting torch does spot your eyes. Even a shade 3 is better than clear.... My 2 cents. MH
Beautiful craftsmanship!!!
How can I order one of your awesome charcoal gril. Please contact me. Dean A.
Nice video man this is gonna be a random question but how much do you get paid
Nerix Espinoza a day, mont, year? 860+ a day depending on the job and company.
Jacob Schofield is that including rig pay?
did you make that template or bought it somewhere online!?
GAMA GARCIA I make them. They are really close and really speed up the process of laying one out. If you want one email us at Schofieldwelding@gmail.com
Jacob Schofield but when you’re doing a branch test do you need one for the horizontal pipe also, or there’s a way to use it on that one too?
im doing mine out of 12inch
MrJj1620 12” makes a sweet grill they just weigh a lot lol.
I really want to rig up again. Ounce you loose everything small business what ever it's real hard starting all over.
Javier Garcia I lost everything in 2016 guess it just depends if you want to make money or if your happy where you are. A lot of people fall but few will get back up.
I want a template how much?
DOHuster email schofieldwelding@gmail.com mostly so I don’t loose your info. 30.00 + shipping

good vid
template please
jebusinlasvegas email me at schofieldwelding@gmail.com
Sorry that’s re-elect.com
Your metal charge is about $122 plus shipping from Speedy Metals. If you are getting scrap metal from the job, then you should pay scrap metal prices to your employer. Were it the other way around, you would not be happy to have scrap metal drifting off the job. Let's say consumables are $20 which is $142 or $58 of profit per unit. Add time, transportation to and from fair and it is hard way to make a buck. Your welding tips are very good.
First Last well ya common sense says you need to ask first.
First Last you’re a bean counter somewhere and not liked very well aren’t you?
First Last, I think Jacob is selling the templates and not the finished product. Which is great. The ones he builds to sell himself, locally, I have absolutely no doubt he's gotten permission from the owners of the company / site, to salvage those pieces of pipe for his personal use. And, I don't think those owners would be too worried about a few sections with a scrap value of 8 to 10 cents a pound. Especially since they've already made millions from the original material sections.
It's so little
G Loyd tiny little dude but it can go everywhere with you.
Relee.com damn auto correct 😡
