0:33 It's time to get extreme! Grab your boots, goggles and gloves because LJN and the Glitch Gremlin have teamed up to bring you a broken winter sports game featuring shoehorned merchandise!
Epic sequel tease. Indeed, the Head Games library is basically for comedic effect these days (and those who dare to play them should get hazard compensation). The genuine "What the f***?" reactions are priceless.
I remember on one of my installs of Windows 98 circa 1999 the computer would freeze whenever I launched a game requiring DirectX (i.e. any 3D game). However, if I ran Monkey Island (DOS game) first then DirectX games would run fine afterwards. Windows was filled with random bugs like that. Most likely caused by conflicting drivers. But before high-speed Internet getting drivers in any other version than the one that came on the floppy/CD when you bought your hardware was a real pain. So some games just wouldn't run. It wasn't really about how powerful the PC was, it was more about quirky compability issues. By no fault of your own or the machine you owned. Sometimes they didn't run just because.
Crysis is a meme, on Ultra, yes, on Low a 2006 PC can play it easily. The things is, these super low budget games do not have graphics that would justify it.
Watching you play this game, I noticed that it looked oddly familiar. Then I realized where I had seen it before: It turns out that HeadGames recycled the snowboarding component of this game for "Tech Deck Snowboarding", which was released the following year. Everything including the controls, fonts, and snowboarders, was rehashed for that game. How lazy could they be?
Man I used to love Extreme Boards and Blades. Maybe because of the Mtn. Dew logo? I think one of the (too many) Head Games games I had came with a demo of Remington Top Shot, and I actually liked that too. I was a dumb, dumb, dumb kid.
“How do these games keep getting worse?!” - Sir Clint Basinger, 2016. This quote is more relevant to the current gaming industry at large. Especially the 76 incident.
Old PC games on CDs. See, this is a good thing to cover in a video. There are so many of them, most will be lost forever eventually due to CDs deteriorating and not being good enough to be uploaded somewhere. Make more!
didn't expect a reference to Gary Ridgeway ever in an LGR video! I sometimes forget that anything related to him went national, especially since I live in the area where he did the killings. (Green River Valley)
1:57 Okay, it's understandable to encounter a T-pose through glitches, but when you literally pre-render someone striking a T-pose, that's something to be ashamed of! These devlopers are...losers!
3:13 Wait, I thought we were playing snowmobiling. That thing was skating on JPEGs. The entire game should be called "Extreme JPEGsports" and have the user smoke some drugs before playing (considering what "K2" is (also) widely known as).
I remember playing a demo of this game. It was featured on a CD distributed with the PC Games CD magazine in late 1998 or early 1999. Being 9 years old at the time, I remember being amazed by it. Oh well, times change.
I literally just watched a Jimquisition about poor quality control on Steam so your joke about putting in on Greenlight was an awesome bit of synchronicity. Additionally this made me realize his synopsis was wrong, store shelves used to stock this sort of garbage all the time. Strangely, software has always been somehow exempt from quality control. While it may not have sold a lot of copies, apparently it moved enough for them to stay in business and well, that trend is alive and well to this day.
Not even kidding, I was playing Forza Horizon 3 with this video running in the background, and the moment you said the word "crashing" at the beginning, the damn game froze up and reset.
Another Head Games review! Wow, how many games did they release? I'm surprised on how bad these games are and how they ever got past QA testing. Also, I get to hear one of my favorite LGR running gags. "Practice MoOOoode."
1: I'm not a big fan of reaction videos but that clip of Clint first playing the game was great. PERFECT!!! :D 2: Sadly Arctic Chill and K9 both sound like cool game companies that'd PROBABLY make better entertainment than these "Extreme" games. Or cool band names, at least. 3: Unisex sounds? Wow, and people thought my mods development was buggy and lazy. I do gotta ask how SO MANY of these games were commercially released?! *facepalm* -Mad Wolf
This video reminded of a non-garbage winter sports game, Supreme Snowboarding! Any chance of getting a video of that game? Thanks for your great content and have a happy new year!
hey LGR! I recently got my hands on an old nintendo with some games, and after toying with the games on the cartridges, I have some games that you might enjoy reviewing! They are: Bubsy 2, the first F-Zero, and The Lion King (that is the only thing said on the cartridge). If you notice this comment, please respond with a yes or no! Thanks and merry late Christmas!
hey, LGR, why don't you cover the Gutterball bowling games? used to play them a lot back in the day, just asked of you played it, or you at least, know about it
Anyone else miss the aspect of the 90s which had the word "extreme" overused until it no longer had any meaning whatsoever? And maybe the every-couple-of-minutes attempts of people to create the next "extreme sport" which was really just short hand for taking a pre-existing athletic activity but using the word "extreme" as an excuse to act like a douchebag while doing it... Yeah, me neither.
Having the subtiles activated I couldn't control my laughter when even the subtiles wouldn't agnowledge the music track "crappy generic rockmusic" quote youtube subtiles😂
3:29 That scream of madness in the background.
Amazing.
Screw "can it run Crysis"! The *real* question for PC benchmarking should be "can it run Extreme Wintersports"! XD
You would ACTUALLY need a GTX 1080 or something to run Extreme Wintersports at any sort of decent resolution and framerate..
@@TheStellaruniversexm no I think you need a Quantum computer to run this.
the real question isn’t can it, but _should it_
Wow, we're on the same wavelength. I also released a video on a winter sports game for the PC with Extreme in the title one day prior!
Yeah man, I saw that! You definitely got the better experience this week, haha.
0:33 It's time to get extreme! Grab your boots, goggles and gloves because LJN and the Glitch Gremlin have teamed up to bring you a broken winter sports game featuring shoehorned merchandise!
*"THREE .. ONE?... GO!"*
Did they forget the two? Or did the game just skip due to the poor performance?? Who knows, it's great, you can Choose Your Own Adventure!
PCGamer77 Who knows indeed!
They were fans of Zlad!, of course.
Almost as awesome as Big Rigs "You are Winner"
Reminds me of the announcer chatter from a bootleg Genesis Street Fighter rip-off.
"Round.....FIGHT..... *_GO!!!_*
" From frames a second, to seconds a frame " XD
"It's gone from being measured in frames per second to seconds per frame" Brilliant!
Can we get an uncut version of your first reaction? that laugh, LMAO
I posted the full reaction on my Twitter!
It's glorious
Where's the tweet?
I cant find it either!
The tweet is missing the last scream, though :(
Another Head Games title reviewed by Clint... now THIS is a Christmas gift. :-D
Head Games is just another poorly-disguised subsidiary of LJN a la Wisdom Tree and Phoenix Games.

Came here for this, thank you
ARE YOU FEELING SORRY FOR YOURSELF
At first I read the title as "Extreme Watersports" XD
That exists too...

Risky click of the day...
Heheheheheh
Epic sequel tease.
Indeed, the Head Games library is basically for comedic effect these days (and those who dare to play them should get hazard compensation). The genuine "What the f***?" reactions are priceless.
Was there a phenomenon back then where games just wouldn't run well no matter how decent of a PC you had? I remember having all kinds of troubles.
Among super low-budget releases, absolutely.
Lazy Game Reviews Thanks for the fast reply!

Well look at crysis when that came out, it absolutely destroyed pc's.. So I'm guessing a lot of those games were similar.
Crysis is a meme, on Ultra, yes, on Low a 2006 PC can play it easily. The things is, these super low budget games do not have graphics that would justify it.
Extreme Wintersports is an anagram for Merest Winter Exports. That should have been your first clue.
*written 5 days ago*? Wtf
Yeah, that is weird.
+Aj Not weird at all, as Patreon supporters get to see videos early:

Lazy Game Reviews Okay
Lazy Game Reviews got it
I'm surprised they did this many games before going under
You and me both...
They were a subsidiary of Activision, so it makes sense.
Oh man! That part at 3:13 had me laughing in tears!
I’m bursting with laughter here.
3:06 "3, 1, GO!"... They skipped the frame with 2, which is 2 crazy 4 words!
5:02 At least they got it right this time!
3:59
Shh, don't give any ideas to lunatics, Clint!
Agsma, Just Agsma Clint?
LGR's real name.
oh ok
Clint, thank you for all these years of making awesome content.
Thanks for watching!
"It makes the Enigma look like a drugstore puzzle" - My fav Clint quote ever
3:12 - Well, so much for trying the rest of my Christmas gifts, because I do believe my pulse has stopped due to sheer shock.
3:13 I love that reaction.
3:20 "HOW DO THESE GAMES KEEP GETTING WORSE?!?!"
That guy was pelvic thrusting when he said "You loser." Shows how much they hated their players.
THREE.......ONE
Your videos never fail to make me laugh dude. One of the best. Happy holidays.
Thanks, I hope your own holidays have been great!
"From frames per second, to seconds per frame."
Oh man that was hilarious
The banner over the finish line reads "PHINISH"... Now that's EXTREME!!!
Winter-themed LGR is my favourite LGR.
3:10 I laughed about one second before you started to laugh. hah
0002pA My favorite time of the year also like the avgn christmas theme.
Yep, that was a thing! There's even more to the story than that, it's amazing how many times this same basic game was recycled and re-released.
PRACTICE MOOODE
Oh my god, he actually included it! Merry Christmas, Clint, you absolute savage!
"Make the game run properly, HAL"
*I can't allow that to happen, Dave*
practice mode is the most underrated meme ever
Clint! Merry Christmas mate. Thank you for helping to make my 2016 better with your awesome content
Merry Christmas to you! Glad to hear it :)
I anticipated the Practice Mode voice. It truly made my day
"You loser" - almost chocked on my food, lol
erez shpirer lmao same
Reminds me of the spongebob episode when he tried that horn that said loser lol
Kevin the sea cucumber!
"Practice Mode" gets me every time
This game would be perfect for the AVGN
do we dare subject him to this?
Man I used to love Extreme Boards and Blades. Maybe because of the Mtn. Dew logo?
I think one of the (too many) Head Games games I had came with a demo of Remington Top Shot, and I actually liked that too. I was a dumb, dumb, dumb kid.
so the benchmark is can it run "Extreme Wintersports" instead of crysis.
"3...1...Go!"
Christmas must be extended, because Clint uploads another video. Awesome work as always!
I keep replaying 07:39 again and again XD.
it's much more fun if you've seen his Extreme Boards and Blades review.
2:40 I knew you would put that joke there
lol That Crash Bandicoot font.
We need an archived ISO to try it for ourselves! Great video as always.
OMG...I loved your ending on Boards and Blades, and now you used the same one for this video. lmaoooo. Thank you.
“How do these games keep getting worse?!” - Sir Clint Basinger, 2016. This quote is more relevant to the current gaming industry at large. Especially the 76 incident.
seconds per frame bahahaha
People who complain about games that are 30 fps need to watch this. xD
CrazyKosai well that's how pvz gw 2 plays on my computer
"Seconds per frame!"- LGR.
You heard it first here!
Does anybody remember Snowboard Kids for the N64?
This is like that, but crappier.
Snowboard Kids is a bona-fide masterpiece compared to this one.
3:30 Sounds like he got murdered offscreen. D:
Old PC games on CDs. See, this is a good thing to cover in a video. There are so many of them, most will be lost forever eventually due to CDs deteriorating and not being good enough to be uploaded somewhere. Make more!
"The overall goal of "Extreme wintersports" is: TO WASTE YOUR TIME"
LGR - 2016
Do Extreme Bull-rider! I mean come on, you've teased us with it a few times...
Merry Christmas or happy holidays Clint! Thank you for the awesome content you put out every year.
didn't expect a reference to Gary Ridgeway ever in an LGR video! I sometimes forget that anything related to him went national, especially since I live in the area where he did the killings. (Green River Valley)
I hope there are more Christmas themed games to come out soon. I'd hate for this to turn into a winter sports theme month due to lack of games.
Christmas videos stop after Christmas. They'll return next December.
Lazy Game Reviews I know they stop in December, I was saying I hope there's more, for next year.
Lazy Game Reviews did you see accursed farms review for freak out extreme freeride?
1:57 Okay, it's understandable to encounter a T-pose through glitches, but when you literally pre-render someone striking a T-pose, that's something to be ashamed of! These devlopers are...losers!

Oh, what the f***, a possible sequel to this video?!
I can (*DO, REALLY DO*) dig it.
Another excellent review, Clint.
Thanks!
Lazy Game Reviews You're welcome.
Stay awesome, Clint :3
Clint, I am a lifelong fan and I love your work. I beg of you, please give us a full review of Extreme Bullrider some day
"This game behaves differently based on what version of Windows you have, what graphics hardware you have, and what your Horoscope sign is."
P.T. Barnum: There’s a sucker born every minute.
Head Games: Hold our beer, we’ve got some ideas.
this is easily one of the best LGR videos for that background cackling
My family actually snowmobiled when I was growing up and ONLY bought Arctic Cat stuff. I think we owned everything advertised in the pro shop LOL.
Your _Scream-Laugh of Agony_ over how shitty this game runs was just what I needed.
this made my day. it's like seeing something I really wanted on sale for boxing day!
The L in LGR stands for Legendary
Billy Ricky is it TheLegendary27?
MC Chase have you missed the compliment there?
Holy shit those Altec speakers! I've had those for years, and I'm still using them on my current computer.
I remember playing a demo of this game. It was featured on a CD distributed with the PC Games CD magazine in late 1998 or early 1999. Being 9 years old at the time, I remember being amazed by it. Oh well, times change.
That laugher is so amazing it warms my heart
Do the bullriding one please, I've always been curious when I seen it working at a electronics store back in the day but never could do it lol.
I literally just watched a Jimquisition about poor quality control on Steam so your joke about putting in on Greenlight was an awesome bit of synchronicity. This was absolute gold and my new favorite LGR episode. Warning, do not eat or drink while watching this one...
I'm shocked that no one noticed that the clerk in the pro shop was still in the neutral modeling position
1: I'm not a big fan of reaction videos but that clip of Clint first playing the game was great. PERFECT!!! :D

A boxing day bonus ! Thanks Clint. You truly are groovy. LGR for 2017 !!!...
Seriously thought that, if you get to the end, you'd be greeted by "YOU'RE WINNER!"
I've been following your stuff for so long and watching it so often, that I finally decided to pay up. Just became a Patreon. Keep up the great work.
Thank you very much!
I fucking love the classic Head Games "practice moooode!"
Thanks for playing that for us, so never have too :).
a bit of my gamer pride died watching that
This video reminded of a non-garbage winter sports game, Supreme Snowboarding! Any chance of getting a video of that game? Thanks for your great content and have a happy new year!
The end was so funny..Thank You Clint!!
Good god Clint.... I woke the family laughing at the first reaction you had to this game... thanks I really needed that.
Keep up the awesome work, Clint!
"I'm gonna risk unleashing some ancient curse by opening this." 🤣😅😂
This video kept making me think my browser was lagging again
It doesn't look like you ever did a review on Extreme Paintbrawl. It was the bane of my youth...
Top 17 worst PC games. LGR
Wow, the game calls you a looser instead of cheering you on. That's a strange way of encouraging people to play their game.
It was the way of the 90s. Coming down from the cocaine high of the 80s messed us up.
I can't believe I use to play Extreme Paintbrawl 1 & 4. Offline too. Modern video games sure are great.
hey LGR! I recently got my hands on an old nintendo with some games, and after toying with the games on the cartridges, I have some games that you might enjoy reviewing! I actually had one of the "extreem Paintbrawl" games. It wasn't.. horrible.
I Xtremely want an Xtreme boxed copy of LGR's Xtreme Shits.
Having the subtiles activated I couldn't control my laughter when even the subtiles wouldn't agnowledge the music track "crappy generic rockmusic" quote youtube subtiles😂
