one of us! one of us! one of us!
the nostalgia-gasm hitting the nail on the head. 1995. Packard bell. entertainment packs. shareware. skifree. this is my favorite LGR video.
Uhm, I know it's kinda late, but I think you messed up
Emkill what
CDs with a weird collection of free- and shareware - hours of fun just discovering what is on there.
#PackardBell
Dude you're not the only one who had a packerbell remember that simple kid interface lol.
What was it called was a virtual home
I remember Jezzball. My co-worker and I used to play that on our computers at work until the boss saw what was going on and uninstalled all the games on all the computers.
We never liked him even before that incident.
When I was in 5th grade, my teacher had a copy of BOWEP on a floppy disk and let us take it home so we could play chips challenge. By the time it got to me, it had a virus on it.
bukanbangkit no one could have said it any better...
J Allen FeelsBadMan
Bummer.
So it got shared around the school, and had a virus when it was your turn with it? So, that floppy was basically the class slut, then?
@@CyberLink70 Wrong. Kids and virii go together.
"Why were you watching someone on the toilet"
I have a better question. Why is someone using a computer on the toilet
Smart phones. I imagine some people bring their phone and earphones into the toilet
taking your laptop to the bathroom when you're having to take a big big shit is not that bad.
Maybe someone converted a toilet into an office chair I mean I did that once and gave it to my cousin as a gag gift
***** A windows 98 smartphone?
Emulate 98 on a modern phone it would probably be fun.
In Rodent's Revenge, I always saw it as the mouse condensing the yellow cat into yellow paste and just slurping up its liquefied corpse. I was a disturbed child, blame Wolfenstein 3D for having the blood drinking mechanic.
+Galahandhi > And I never even knew :o
Lol
Wait, what? You can drink downed enemies' blood in Wolf3D? O_o

Huntrin Yes Jezzball

I promise that I did not nostalgiagasm all over myself.
The screen, however...
Chips challenge is pure childhood!
144 levels + 5 bonus ones.
16th password is SKKK, 144th is TONY. Never forget.
Yes! My mom had a Gateway 2000 when I was 3 or 4, I had the best time playing SkiFree and Chips Challenge on it. And I was obsessed with Paint. We still have my mom’s old Gateway, so maybe I’ll have to boot it up and see what’s on it from my childhood.
I remember watching stevethemeave45's video of these games being played on Windows XP back in 2010. They are really cool! Nice job!
This. I grew up with this! Those are amongst my first memorys. When my dad let me sit on his lap and showed me this magical thing called "Computer"
I GOT THE UNSOLVABLE FREECELL GAME ONCE. I HAVE SURVIVED.
I ALSO GOT IT BUT I DID NOT SURVIVE.
Thank you for this! Been watching your stuff for several days now and completely forgot about Chip's Challenge. I am off to play this gem now. I haven't played it since I was 4 or 5.
I loved the Windows Entertainment Pack. Someone at my votech school brought in a floppy with the games on it and we all passed it around and installed them on our PCs. After I had a laptop, I copied them onto it and spent hours playing Taipei, JezzBall, Cruel Solitaire, SkiFree. Great memories. I wish MS still made these.
I had the best of pack on my Packard bell computer from back in the day.
I do have all the packs and make it run via dosbox. I made a package that is ready to go with all the entertainment packs. If you want it shoot me a message.
Can you by chance remember the name of another game in the pack? You had to navigate with a green tennis ball
Rodent's Revenge was my first anxiety rush
Your game reviews are so fun. You are fantastic!
This is easily one of my favourite channels on UA-cam; You never fail to entertain.
I didn't own this pack of games, so I haven't got the nostalgic angle of these titles that most would have, but man do I want to play that SkiFree game... :D
Back in December, she had to do a winter themed google drawing for computer class. I did a ski free one
I always enjoyed seeing just how long I could outrun that snow monster in SkiFree using the jumps. :) Thanks for taking me back to my early teens again dude! These and Microsoft Arcade were the first games I ever played on a Windows PC!
it was my family's ambition to try and finish chips challenge. also, does anyone else associate a particular smell with old experiences, like when I saw him playing the cat and mouse game, I could actually smell something, which really brought back the memory
Clint, thank you. I was thinking of Chip's Challenge earlier, but could never remember the name of it! I'm glad I ran across this video, it brought back a lot of memories from my childhood.
You, sir, are awesome!
I heard you talk about chips challenge a bunch of times for a good while now ;) it's fun to know so much more!
I love Rodent's Revenge and BEAST from DOS...my body wasn't ready
3:40 CANYON.MID, OMFG!!!
I refer to Tripeaks as Triple Panty Action, but to each their own.
Geez Clint really a way to make me really nostalgia-gasm, not only with BoWEP but with the Packard Bell you showed. I owned that and was my first Windows 95 machine. Thanks!
You really have a knack for making these videos man. Great job. Entertaining, informative, and nostalgic. Reminds just how great G4TV used to be. :'( Anyway keep up the great content. Cheers!
Went and found a link somewhere and now I'm hooked on Jezzball again. Thanks a lot dude.
This episode of LGR really tickles my fancy. Do more on games around that same era and I'll die happy.
Oh ok. I've been a sub for a few months now, and I got to say you're one of the more interesting reviewers.
Congrats for making 256 videos! You have hit a new level :)
I remember visiting my grandparents as a child and playing these games. Thanks for the nostalgia!
ski free!! I could never escape from that f***ing monster!!!!
My goodness the memories. Chip's Challenge was my absolute favorite.
Dude Rodents Revenge was one of my favorites as a kid! Forgot about it, nice nostalgia trip as usual sir.
OMG I HAD ALL OF THESE! I FORGOT ALL ABOUT THESE UNTIL YOU BROUGHT IT UP! THANKYOU LGR!
You should review Microsoft 3D Movie Maker!
omg, i loved chips challenge!! especially when you pushed chipped against the wall he couldn't go the sound effects "usgh usgh" hahah
I always loved watching the card come up out of the sleeve on golf when I was like 10
My old Gateway Windows 98 came with a set of game discs. Included were; The Neverhood, Close Combat: A Bridge Too Far, either Flight Simulator '95 or '98, and (I believe) Age of Empires along with others' I can't remember (this was almost 20 years ago for me). Those games that the Gateway Windows 98 came with at that time practically made up my PC Gaming childhood starting from when I was like 4-5 years old.
All the titles I didn't forget were made by Microsoft Studio and came packed with the Gateway Windows 98. I don't know why, but I guess "Microsoft Entertainment Pack" reminded me of the set of games/discs that came with the first Windows PC I really got to use. Could you possibly do a video if you ever come across any of these OEM PC software/game disc sets, or just any of the games/series' I mentioned above?
98 was almost 20 years ago for everybody man... lol
Thank you for taking me down memory lane..!! I totally loved playing skifree way back then. :D
I just had minesweeper. Also, no PCs in the bathroom.
For some reason your voice here, especially during the Pyramid game, reminds me of the announcer on game shows who reads off why the prize they're showing you on-stage and on-screen is amazing. Not a bad thing!
Oh god i do remember those games.
Chip's Challenge was absolutely awesome. Sadly it doesn't seem to work on Win7.
Trifon Trifonov my sister was amazing at that game when we were growing up. Was so jealous haha.
classicreload.com/win3x-windows-chips-challenge.html I got you, fam
You can emulate the whole Windows 3.11 in special DosBox bundle together with MEP1-4 installed on it. Voila!
I believe you can launch it:
1) via VM emulation, like VirtualBox, of a Windows 95 machine.
2) on a 32-bit Windows XP machine.
A Better Eay To Do It Is to Use OTVDM Which Can Emulate 16-Bit Games From Windows 3.1 Which Chips Adventure Was Made For
I had a few of these on my PC, but I mostly remember the because every demo computer at Wal Mart or Best Buy was set up to play Ski Free or Chip's Challenge. It was what you did while Mom picked out a new washing machine or vacuum or what have you.
Ahhh the nostalgia. I remember mostly playing Rodent's Revenge, Chip's Challenge, Jezz Ball, and Ski Free. Alot of fun stuff in the pack.
Yep, some of these games were the best part of my day when I got to play them as a kid. Jezzball was my favourite, but Jezzball and Chip's Challenge were also up there. Ski Free was good too.
I played these games at school in the early 90s. Or to be more accurate, I pretty much only played SkiFree.
Thanks for making all these reviews of old (and new) PC games and for the home computer reviews.
I used to love jezz ball. I had totally forgot what it was called. Now I can play it again. Thank you phreakindee!
I played soo much Rodents Revenge as a kid. xD
You jogged my memory of Jezzball! I played a number of these games when I was a teenager alongside listening to whatever the 90s precursor to emo music was and alternated with Sim City 2000 and as soon as I saw the game the suppressed memories came flooding back.
At some point then I discovered much better music than my dirges of doom and ditched the over-reliance on computer patience but it's nice to have a reminder about my emo phase every once in a while.
I remember always playing Herman and the Falling Rocks.
The death music and his disturbing clown face (and the bloody cracked open skull when you lost) gave me nightmares.
EDIT: Googled to find out you actually reviewed FROCKS.EXE. omfg.
YEP

Ok
i love that due to removed accounts - it looks like someone is talking to himself.
love the channel btw and rewatch stuff all the time
Protip: press F to outrun the yeti in SkiFree. (Really. There's a second yeti that you can't outrun though.)
The first screen whit all the games was just FUCKING AWESOME man. So many memorys coming back. Love all your videos keep up the good work.
149 levels in Chip’s challenge?? That’s incredible. Remember I played no more than 20 then got stuck when I was 7. Great video!
If my memory serves me well, I only managed to win Tut's Tomb a single time, no matter how many times I tried... excellent review BTW
I remember those! I also had Fuji Golf, Rattler Race, JigSawed, IdleWild, WordZap...so many memories from the 90s!
looking at this reminds me of the other pack we had on our old computer. aside from BOWEP, we got a Bicycle card game pack. initially, it has just poker, solitaire, cribbage, and i think blackjack. but when you open solitaire, it has a game mode menu where you can pick from around 40 different single player card games, ranging from standard klondike to 40 thieves, spider, and so forth. back when my mom was around, i remember searching all over the internet for a modern take on that concept for having a 40-in-1 solitaire program, but those were rare at the time
Oh snap, remember I played these on my first computer, it was amazing!
Rodent's Revenge was my favorite too, I remember that and SkiFree the most.
i remembered playing Jezzball when i was really really young. boy, watching it again in this video gives me incredible nostalgia-gasm.... or whatever you call it.
Takes me back... thanks for sharing! :)
12:24 "AND THE YEHTAYYYYY" - Tony Schiavone -1995
I love it because instead of reviewing and only telling you the pros and cons he actually adds lively humor and dosent give that Robotic commentator feel.
I remember and still play chips challenge on my windows 7 system. sooo many hours gone by playing that game. good memories
holy crap rodent revenge was a game I used to play at my uncles house! thank you so much for reminding me the name of this obscure/obsolete game
When he said Dr. Blackjack, did no one else think of the anime?
I thought of it too. I haven't seen much of the anime, and I haven't read the manga, but I do know of the character.
I just nostalgiaed all over the screen. Than you lgr for reminding me of my first computer
Chip's Challenge! Damn I spent so much time trying to figure out those damnable puzzles.
I nostalgiagasmed.
Rodent's revenge! I had completely forgotten about that game! I used to play that all the time when I was a kid! I also remember my mom being obsessed with Chips Challenge, she even had a notebook with guides on how to beat every puzzle.
You should consider the Kid Pix series as well!! :D
I used to use that program back in the second and third grade!
KID PIX, KID PIX! COME ON AND PLAY WITH KID PIX!!!!!!!
Sorry... It's ingrained into the deepest parts of my brain at this point. (It's the theme from deluxe 3 and 4.)
13:01 OMG yes. Also my first con I saw cosplay of the skier and yeti.
Hey, Clint! Your videos are great fun and I'm enjoying the heck out of them, particularly the DOS series. Kudos on your work, about as far from lazy as your channel name might mislead! :)
I happened to see a Klik & Play icon in this video. Is it by any chance Clickteam's game creation software? I've been a long fan of that as well, together with newer and better versions such as The Games Factory, Multimedia Fusion and so on. Would you consider reviewing those too? They're an interesting mix of popular'n'obscure software.
Thanks and keep the good stuff rollin'! :)
Not only did I play most of those games...I also actually had a Packard Bell exactly like the one you showed!
The funny thing about Microsoft Tetris is that it's manual actually recommended *against* getting Tetrises. I guess it was made before that became the meta.
"That really really sucks, I'm sorry that you're dead."
ROFL
I definitely just had a nostalgia-gasm. Can I get a towel, please?
Awesome game collection. I remember playing those on my old 486' back in 1996. Good memories!
Have you made any video of "Castle of the Winds"? That was an epic W3.1 game back then.
NOSTALGIAGASM! I WAS LIKE 5-8 when I played these.
That Packard Bell you show in the beginning is VERY similar to the PB that served as my first computer... mine was a horizontally-oriented case, however. Windows 3.1, pretty sure it had an MMXtreme chip in it (or chip mod, whatever it was). Good times!
Pipe Dream (in the Microsoft Entertainment Pack) was my childhood, also Skifree and Chip's Challenge.
had already lowered my pants when you said "Okay"
Where is FUJI golf???
It wasn't considered in the best of Microsoft. Its in one of the individual packages.
Damn the background for Tetris makes your eyes go funny lol xD
SkiFree was one of my all time favorite childhood games. That abominable snow yeti, I was hoping you said something about him. ^-^
I played Ski Free more than any other snow based game. The slalom I used to constantly try to beat my personal best time. I played it more than even 1080 on the N64.
What a classic!
Oh dear "Chip's Challenge'. Played it at work, just - had- to - get - to -the END!
I didn't have this, however I did have one like it called 24 Games for Windows 95. It had some pretty good games if I recall correctly. A video on that would be kind of cool if you know it.
The monster bigfoot bear in ski free is amazing!!!
It is yeti.
Pipe Dream and Chips Challenge, now THAT takes me back
Rodents revenge and Skii free will always be my favorites. Man I forgot TetraVex!
Oh, yes, Taipei, Tetravex, Pipedream and most importantly JezzBall bring back good memories! We didn't have them at home, but I came across them on a computer on a sort-of summer camp. Didn't know they were from the Windows Entertainment Pack.
We did have 'The puzzle collection' though, which was also from Microsoft.
My packard bell 386 (axcel?) had a very specific version of the entertainment pack that I’ve never seen since. It had cruel, solitaire, tuts tomb, rodents revenge, tetra vex, and another puzzle game I can’t find anymore but no Tetris, chips challenge, ski free, etc.
I played Chip's Challenge, Rodent's Revenge, Jezzball, and Pipe Dream. And probably Tetris too. My aunt and uncle had a computer at the time and I played these constantly, along with King's Quest VI and Police Quest 1-4 combo disc. Friggin love these goofy games. ^_^
"Nostalgiagasm" my word of the day
I nostalgia-gasm'd when I saw that photo of a Packard Bell! My first PC!
Great review !
Now, stragely enough I had this pack, or what I believed to be this pack on a CD-ROM called something Windows Entertainment Pack and I didn't include some of the games you showed... It included a 3D golf stuff which was pretty awesome, along with a game of life and several demos of Microsoft Software toys.
About the Microsoft Entertainment packs, will you reviews the full packs on day since this is only a best of from the full packs.
Whew! Thought you said JIZZ BALL there for a moment !
HAJAJAHA It cracked me up when he said foreseeable future hahaha awesome humor.
presto subscription my good man.
