We're totally with you on that, Alex. As a matter of fact it was kind of a mind blower for us to hear how great a single coil guitar could sound through this amp!
Sounded great! Thanks for sharing and playing various style of music through the amp using humbuckers and single coils. Am I the only one who sees the same knobs as on Boss pedals?
I am sure most demos of this amp will be metal styles-but this demo is the one that is making me think about buying one. Reason #1 -I would definitely record this amp. Reason # 2 The range of clean, pushed clean, light overdrive, and crunch is there. Reason#3 I would confidently gig with it-with or without a cab. Reason #4 the IR load let's you use your own IR's! Warning: my wife may not agree with these reasons...lol
Thanks for watching and your kind words, Alan! That's exactly why we didn't do a metal demo. This amp is way more versatile than as a pure metal amp. :) - Also, we'd be happy to help out with convincing your wife that this is the smartest purchase you could ever make! ;)
@@CreamCityMusic My issue with the amp is that I want to be able to have a great clean and then a crunch and lead at all times. It appears that you cannot have that with this amp without walking over and flipping a switch. Is that correct or am I missing something? If they have the three modes per channel I am not sure why it can't be done with a footswitch. Does it have a MIDI in that allows for more versatility?
Alan Scott Bought the Badlander 50 and am loving the clean sounds this amp gets, can also get recto tones, too. Also purchased the 2x12 Mesa Boogie horizontal Recto cab and my rig sounds sublime!
Here's how I'm setting up my Badlander 50 channels. Channel 1 set to clean or crunch for rhythm playing, channel 2 set to crush for liquid soloing and overdriven tones. With 8 speaker IRs pre-loaded/channel using the Badlander's integrated Cabclone can place different speaker sounds in each channel. This is some great versatility and can load in 3rd party IRs, too!,
Fantastic demo of a truly great product from Mesa. Great riffs, exploring a broad gamut of styles and leveraging classic guitar models. So refreshing to see this approach when most other channels focus too much on modern metal only. Congrats guys and keep up the great work. Just became a subscriber!
Thanks for your kind words, Jorge! You hit on exactly why we take the approach we do. This amp does so much more than just great metal tones. It's a truly versatile masterpiece!
So this whole demo was recorded direct through the Cabclone out? Pretty damn good sounding. Can't wait to hear the thunder in person through through a cab 🤘🤘🤘
Awrsome sound, grat demo. At 3:00 sounds totally White Lion's Wait song... lml. By the way cream city music store has gone beyond as a music store in customer service (in my experience). Thnx guys... rock on!
Forgive me, but does this have an integrated load box? It seems like any high watt amp offering all these silent recording options should have one, but it doesn't seem like the Badlander does. Edit: It does! An integrated reactive load box. Mesa got this one right. The internal reactive load is engaged when all three speaker inputs are empty.
heck, when you finally explore the Mesa line and realize that "Boogie" is ONLY the Mark series and similar modifications! even I know it - a resident of Russia! In all other cases (if these are not Mark varieties) it is written and spoken as Mesa Engineering !!!
Some lovely playing here. I would've liked some proper hard rock and metal riffs, because despite other comments, there aren't enough good demos out there of the amp in these genres. Maybe two or three good ones. A lot of the others are crap. This one sounds great, so I wish you'd have covered some heavier stuff too.
Thanks for your feedback! We purposely went non-metal because we anticipated a ton of metal videos, but perhaps we'll do a run through of the combo with pure metal riffs! ;)
In some more of the demo work we've been doing with it, the 'sing' you mention is definitely there. We'll likely do a special 'solos' cut for the amp in the future!
@@Jaymze9370 Never tried one of those models. I had one about 20 years ago and it had fizzy rhythms and the leads just died. No life, no sustain, nothing.
I've been a Mesa user for 30 years and that's the first amp they've made that I really don't love the sound of. It's ok, but just doesn't have the Mesa vibe for me.
Because maybe they like the tone and increased headroom of a 100W more. Since there's only a 3db difference between the max volume of a 100W vs 50W amp, it has little to do with needing more volume.

This dude's playing is killer! I appreciate the not-all-metal demo.
Thanks for watching! That was definitely our vibe. We wanted to show how versatile and great sounding this amp is across a variety of styles.
yeah, this guy is GREAT!
This is absolutely my favorite demo of this amp, and probably the reason I bought one! Such all around versatility! Thank you!!
Great to hear! Really appreciate that. Our customers love it to. This video sold a lot of these for us :)
Sounds great....really dig the way the Tele sounds going through it!

Awesome amp and awesome playing! Love the opening jam

Wow! Nice sounds and awesome playing! So many different styles. Cool, thumbs up to that player!!!🤩👍🏼
Thanks Jo! We appreciate you! :)
This is a fantastic amp... so well thought out. I gotta have it
We're with you on it, Sean! We've got them in stock. ;) bit.ly/MesaBadlander
Incredible demo of the Badlander 🤘🤘 really shows the full spectrum of this head !!

Yup! It's a completely direct recording and sounds freaking amazing!
Its good the original cab clone got so much grief. They really worked hard on making this one better.
@@bdubbstsi It's one of the best 'direct' recorded sounds we've ever heard. They did great work on it!
F... I was tempted, now I'm convinced
Same with us! We've got more coming into stock! :)
I’m wearing that same black cream city shirt as we speak. Amazing store.
Thanks so much for your kind words, Andrew! :D You just made our day.
Sounds Great ! Has the Mids that have been missing . Love the riff at 3:00 , reminds me of Lillian Axe or maybe Nuno/Extreme
Great ear, Greg! That was one of the things we noticed immediately about this amp. It sounds awesome and is a worthy addition to the Recto family.
Sounds great with the Tele! Sorry if you’ve answered already, but what kind of Tele is that? Love that color!
Thanks Tommy! We're using a Fender Custom Shop 62 Tele. :)

This looks real cool...but im waiting for a mark series with cabclone IRs
We have no doubt that we'll see them at some point, Nick! ;)
Wouldn't shock me if that doesn't hit end of this year or sometime next year.
After listening to multipe demos of the Badlander...this thing is really amazing! It really is a cross between a rectifier and a mark series

How compressed is this amp?
Any information regarding the price of all the different versions ?
Hi Leo! You bet. Head over to our website and we've got pricing and availability there: bit.ly/MesaBadlander
@@CreamCityMusic THAT price for the 50 watt? That’s great! Much lower than I expected.
So no speakers? How do you hear yourself when recording? Computer speakers?
We've got a set of studio monitors. :)
Sounds different...

Em B Badlander sounds badass awesome to my ears!
Dig the blackfacesque cleans
It's been a huge hit with our customers. It's one of Mesa's best designs.
This is some serious nasty. 👍 nice!!!!
Thanks Jon! We're really feeling this amp. It's awesome.
How would this amp do for 80s hair? Is there enough gain on tap? Great playing
There is definitely enough gain available but it won't have the midrange honk of that era without some pedal augmentation. :)
@@CreamCityMusic Thanks!! I was hoping it would lean more towards the British
Cab Clone still sounds a little fizzy on the highs. Love to hear if this can "sing" better with leads than the current Rectos.

Awesome!!! That’s always been a beef of my with the current Rectos and why I’ve favored the Marks. The Rectos just die with leads.
@@nicholastotoro7721 We know exactly what you mean. There's something about this new voicing that really addresses that. Sty tuned! :)

Great player and tones, too bad it’s going to cost an arm and a leg over in the UK though

Does it do Badlands though?
All day every day!
Looks like the Marshall JVM might have serious competition here
Definitely. It's a completely fresh sound.
Marshall has had competition since 1969 when Randall started Mesa.
Very good demo, The Petrucci or the Badlander?
Thanks Ernest! If we have our pick it's Badlander all the way. Way more versatile. ;)
Thanks for musical showing compared to the usual full trash deep dist/recto
Look how much he has the volumes turned up to get this tone, otherwise sounds great but dang that will be loud.
Actually, we're using the Badlander's built in attenuator so we could capture these tones but at a lower volume! :)
no metal riffs?
Check Ola Englund-Channel
We knew that there would be a ton of videos covering metal styles with this amp so we took a different approach. :)
Good idea! It sound really good with a télé ! 😳 It's not just a metal amp! 👍
@@madjack4691 Thanks Jack! Appreciate that!
I appreciate it as well. I love the heavy but often dial in surf and classic tones with my Tremoverb and want to see what this new recto can do.
