I am more interested in if it will do classic rock/Plexi type tones that clean up when you pick lighter and sound clear when you play arpeggios with some overdrive.
@@sanehumanbeing7019 Rectifiers already behave like that, Just use pushed, raw or vintage modes... Actually even Modern mode cleans up well. I used to play some old Black Sabbath stuff and used a lot my volume knob for clean up Just like Tony Iommi does.
Great tones all around, but the big revelation here is that the Crunch channel is extremely Marshall-approved. The firebird and the LP tones were off the charts.
Sold, purchased a Badlander 50 head and 2 x 12 horizontal speaker cab and can't wait to hear it live. Compared this Badlander to other amps like EVH 5150 and Soldano Slo but ended up with a Mesa Boogie, again. Love the versatility of using EL34 and 6L6 tubes which these other amps don't have. Have a great retirement Randall Smith, by golly, you deserve it!!!!
I love how when switching the open back for the closed, they got the guitarist in the same pose again, down to his foot position. Attention to detail! Ha. Great sounds.
This is an amp that's meant to be a modernization / simplification of the Rectifier line, yet everyone in the video is playing blues and classic rock. That's cool and I take nothing away from that, and I'm hoping Mesa does more videos showing what this amp can do in a metal context, with a 7 string / down-tuned guitar and not be afraid of showing what this amp can do with a boost in front. This amp sounds AMAZING with the Grid Slammer pushing the Crunch or Crush mode, and I'd love to see Mesa show off some of that functionality like they did in their Mark V35 and JP2C videos (Angel Vivaldi, John Browne, and the Autonomist guys). Still though, love the amp, keep them coming!
Well since punk ass kids are just wanting to use whatever cheap piece of gear they can get their hands who really gives crap about catering to what they want to hear. I’m kidding of course.
I play through the rectoverb 25 & it’s got the kind of clean tone Fender would kill for - it’s brilliant. Of course where it shines is in the gain section - seriously great tone. If I didn’t have that amp this would be on my list but I’m sorted. Mesa rock - accept no substitutes 👍✌️👍
I guess Gibson is tired seeing "Gibson into Marshall" mantra and wants to pull all to this side of the Atlantic. "Gibson into Mesa Boogie" is never a bad combo IMO.
I have spent the last 6 months trying to figure what tone I wanted for myself as I have just recently got back in the studio. After a very long search, the Mesa Boogie Rectifier Badlander is my final choice. Mainly because of the perfect clean/clean crunch mode. Everything else is just the icing. I am picking it up in two weeks. I ran across this video and it just solidified my choice. Thanks Guys for a great demo!
The bite of this amp (EL34's) is insane. I have at least 10 Boogie amps on my wish list. I've owned two Mark IV's, DC-5 combo (amp of choice), Tri-Axis and Triple Rec half stack. I refer to Boogie amps as the Swiss Army amps. As in they have it all.
Am I to assume that Gibson owns Strymon now? I only say this because they zoomed into 3 Strymon pedals and we know how touchy Gibson gets about other brands which brings me to the other question why were they using a Gretsch. BTW the amp sounds sweet
I am a Mark V guy, but a head with 6L6 and a closed back cab would be a perfect combo for my taste as well. Could you guys, please, make a short demo with 6L6? Much appreciated
Should have got others to demo it. These two barely scratched the surface and provided a dated sound. You guys should have opened up the workshop. Great amp though.
@@ericksousa911 Granted and nothing wrong with that. They would have accomplished the same result and much more by ending the video with a dude chugging super heavy riffs with a guitar tuned in Drop A. Just saying...
I like that people are upset about "not enough metal in the demo". Obviously it can do metal, dipstick. Go play one!
I'm a metalhead and have to agree

Funny cause people on message boards were complaining about all the Badlander demos being focused on metal tones. Can't please everyone!

The cleans are awesome. Lighter, my aging/hurting back would love that 🤗. The crunch is nice also. It’s not overbearing. Very nice👍🏾👍🏾

Mesa Boogie number one
Kris nailed a gorgeous crunch tone with that Sunburst. Love it!!!

I like that even though Mesa is now owned by Gibson, they still use a Fender for demonstrations.

It’s now owned by Gibson so there ya go. Doubt we see any ESP or PRS with official Mesa videos anymore

@Saul Goodman Oh you definitely could. Super-portable metal rig, even without a V30 in it.
Rectifiers work well for Metal but also very well for most others genres...
Metal heads see Kyle Bull's UA-cam channel for more Thrash metal demos.

Really dig the crunch tones! Refreshing take from Mesa, love it

I mean they own mesa and they have used gibson guitars even before they bought mesa
Mesa, i love your amps to the core!!!!!!! I would love it if you could reissue the King Snake model or the original boogie.

Nice amp/sounds/voices. Well presented. Should do well in sales.
That crunch channel it´s just perfect
ok that tone at the end sold me...I've got a 2000's Triple Rec too.
This sounds so good. Hopefully we can get them soon at Europe too!
Kris nailing it as usual!
I dig the tones and the great playing!
I really need to save up some cash for one of these. Good to see Mikey T, Kris and Doug doing their thing as always! 😁
I'm definitely gonna get a Badlander 100 watt. Absolutely awesome tones.
Aquaman forgot the last couple buttons on his shirt but he can play
Doug West @8:12 amazing sound and playing!
This is tempting but still love my Mark V. Love all the amps guys, the cleans on this are pretty epic.

I wish there were more demos of this amp.
Great playing, Doug ❤
Nice cleans!
Teasing us with that sg in the background
Am I to assume that Gibson owns Strymon now?
I only say this because they zoomed into 3 Strymon pedals and we know how touchy Gibson gets about other brands which brings me to the other question why were they using a Gretsch.
BTW the amp sounds sweet
Sounds reasonably pleasant
The combo sounds amazing.
Dang Mesa and them putting out another amazing amp that i gotta have 🤘
Sounds awesome 😎
mark v 35 here. absolute monster. I have to admit this one has my gas going though.
Bring on a 20/5 Combo!
It sounds really nice
Very nice amp. I am still very satisfied with my 50watt Rectoverb.
Sounds more like a modern Marshall instead of a hi-gain Metal-Amp. Maybe that's why they call it Badlander instead of Highlander 😀🎸😁
Another winner guys!
I think I like the Mesa Lone Star more.
That G12M is the perfect match for scooped character of Rectifier.
I'm a Boogie fan. 3 Mk1s, a Mk2b and a Mk3.
I love the 5:25 amp. Haven't tried the ones you listed
@@Stringprodigy i lost interest after the Mk3.
a PHENOMENAL amplifier. Nothing beats made in the USA!
Agree, buy American products, help keep jobs in USA, not China!!
Uhm..Made in Germany 👉👈💁🏼♂️
I'm here for the amp as well as the choice guitar selection
You should offer an IR of this combo cab for download. It's a bit odd that of the 8 IRs pre loaded, none have the speaker used here (Creamback).
Would be really great if you got stock of your amps to Australia. Being told we will need to wait at least 18 months for any Mesa product to us.
For modern metal tones I prefer the Badlander heads with a 2x12 cab instead of the Badlander combo amp, but they are booth good.
You had me at smoke green Anni.
Sounds great!
I like this more than my JP2c+
Close mic'd it sounds great. Interested to hear how the combo sounds in the room without a mic.Thats usually where combos suffer.
Sorry guys, Gibson isn’t really in the extended range market. Sounds great. My Mark 5:35 covers everything I need for now.
I am a Mark V guy, but a head with 6L6 and a closed back cab would be a perfect combo for my taste as well. Could you guys, please, make a short demo with 6L6? Much appreciated
I like the progressive sound. Classic cool to.
6:58 sounded like he was about to transition into TOOL - Ænema lol
Beautifull sound!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️
Is this a Strymon add? It seemed funny that they kept showing them.. lol 😂 amp sounded good though
Makes me want one. ✌️✌️✌️✌️
Jonny Depp killn it on the guitar
This or the mini rectifier 25 black diamond? Opinions? I’m ready to buy one!
Sounds ethereal :)
When we will have new videos? It´s been a long time... Cheers
The manual probably references “heinous crunch”.
I love Mesa, but they are loud> Great demo
I tuned in to learn about the amp. What's with the Strymon plug??
Now I see a lot of Gibson on the demo
Simply awesome !
cool amp... can it also find the buttons to that guy's shirt? i loose mine too sometimes.
Love Mesa boogie!
No doubt it is high quality product.
The last Mesa amp before Gibson era, amen!
Can't seem to find it online for sale anywhere.. 😒
Mikey T on the V!
I wonder how the clean side takes Overdrive pedals?
Ok, I see them stepping on reverb/ delay pedals so I'm guessing there is no reverb on the amp itself?
love it !
Might like to get a V one day.
We need baritone 7 strings with boost. Do you have that in stock ???
Had a 50/50, mark V25, and express 50+
Cool amp👍🤘
Should have got others to demo it. These two barely scratched the surface and provided a dated sound. You guys should have opened up the workshop. Great amp though.
Brought to you by Damage Control inc.
I think this model is the Swiss army knife amp which is what I need
So sorry for my bad comment related to my Mark V head. Due to vibration the foot switch pin cable was loose. Amp is 100% back ! I feel like a jackass!
2:54 is cool
Mesa Boogie-Amp tech’s nightmare
MSRP ?
hmm. why not Mesa Boogie make Mesa Boogie Multi FX Compressor ^_^ ?
No more PRS demos for Mesa. Only Gibson and Fender owned brands. Gibson keeping control.
Maybe include ibanez demos, too
que bolas este hierro lo quiero ya
Nice sounding amp, weighs too much to gig with though
I’ve never met a Mesa I didn’t like
Anyone else find this video noticeably “Gibsony”?
Sounds great! Which mics are those your using on the speaker?
Better demo it w/o pedals...so we can hear its own characteristics not the sound of the strymons
Need.

It's hilarious how you completely ignore extreme metal because let's be honest here, this is what people will buy this thing for.
Makes sense, they probably want to have more market share on other genres.
